I am trying to decide on lunch for me, DH, DS10, DD6. Which in your opinion is better? Is there plenty of seating?

I do know that our meal at Flame Tree was so good. Either way I bet you can't go wrong

We like Flame Tree. All seating at both is outside. Yak & Yeti is not all in the shade.

We enjoy both but prefer Flame Tree. As PPs said, there's lots of seating in the shade, and some areas overlook the water and offer a great view of Expedition Everest.

We like Yak & Yet better for food and Flame Tree better for seating and entertainment...can't go wrong watching long necked birds stealing pulled pork off of someone's sandwich! Just make sure you keep an eye on you food!

The birds were awful at Flame Tree last time we ate there, annoying awful. Flame Tree is a great value on the DDP but Yak & Yeti had really good chicken fried rice. Really hungry, Flame Tree... just a moderate lunch, Yak & Yeti.

We do love the food at both. Flame Tree has birds and I cannot stand them, but they do have more seating and it's in the shade (both of which do not apply to Yak & Yeti, where there's some seating but not nearly as much). I don't think you'd go wrong either way, just depends on what kind of mood you're in the mood for. :)

Another vote for Flame Tree here! Good food and plentiful, covered seating is so valuable on a hot AK day. The food as always been a good value on DDP, without it two people can easily share some of the larger meals.

We ate at the Yak & Yeti quick serve, and it was by far the worst meal of our entire trip. It tasted like a frozen microwave dinner. The seating area was nice though, lots of room and plenty of tables.

I recommend the Ribs, Chicken and Pulled Pork Combo at Flame Tree BBQ.

Ds7 was victimized of a rib on Monday! The bigger birds that stand still are the sneaky ones. The smaller birds are always jumping around, so they are easy to keep track of, but the big birds stand back so you forget they are there. They have long necks, and just bide their time for the perfect moment. You don't think their necks can reach as far as they do.

I'd also vote for flame tree. No matter what you get - order a side of onion rings as well. Their onion rings are very good, imo. I'd ask if you can sub all the sides for one side of onion rings. Not sure if it's possible, but I'm asking next time.

Flame Tree all day! Don't miss out on the pulled pork cheese fries- DELICIOUS. Behind the restaurant is a walkway that leads down to a waterside covered patio which is great for taking a breather and it's kind of out of the way.

I also loved Y&Y but the lack of seating made it stressful especially when you're carrying a tray of food.

Enjoy!

I remember reading great reviews about Yah and Yeti and especially their orange chicken so I tried it and I was not a fan. I also found seating tight. Next time we went to Flamr tree and thought it was great. Turkey legs, bbq chicken and ribs. You can't go wrong.

Thank you for all of the feedback. I hope that the birds are not a problem for us if we try Flame Tree. My husband wants to know if there is another good QS that has indoor seating (in case it rains)?
