Is the Sunrise Safari worth spending at least
one night at the AKL?
Thank You.

Well, from reading reports on this board...I'm planing a trip just for the Sunrise Safari so call my crazy...:jester: Can't wait for the breakfast at Tusker House

I was going to switch to conceirge so we could do this, but the price difference for 7 nights made me choke! I am not one of those folks who can change rooms at a resort once I'm settled so staying in conceirge for one night wasn't an option.

I'd say if you have the bucks - do it!

We're staying Dec.5 just so we can go on the Sunrise Safari. It's a surprise for my family. I can't wait.

What's the big deal? Seems much ado about nothing. you can do the safari ride anytime throughout the day.

Hi,

Are you asking about staying at AKL in a regular room and upgrading for the one night in concierge?

Or

Staying somewhere else and just coming to AKL concierge for one night?

If you are coming to AKL for one night only - keep in mind even concierge guests have to check out at 11:00am. So you will have to have your stuff out of the room by the time you leave for the Sunrise Safari (7am) or go straight back to the hotel after the SS to check out which is sort of a waste because you require admission to DAK to participate on the SS - so you would want to spend a bit more time in DAK following it.

Hopefully your room would be available when you check in so you can enjoy your one day/night to it's fullest.

If however you are spending the other nights at AKL in a regular room, you can keep the same room and upgrade to concierge by having them add the lounge access to your card - and you stay put.. that way you don't have to change rooms.

Hope I helped and did not confuse you!

Mark, it is a 45minute - 1 hour ride with a personal guide + driver.

There is no corny story line about poachers and no sound effects and creaky bridges, you stop constantly for photos, with no restrictions.

You see tons of animals as they are all just coming out from the barns for the day.

You get behind the scene info and view the backstage areas with the specialized buildings... such as the giraffe & elephant buildings. You can ask questions about the animal care and exhibits.

It is followed by a wonderful breakfast and includes transportation from your hotel.

It is a big deal... I urge anyone who has an opportunity to do it to go for it!

Do it just for the French toast at the Tusker house! Seriously we did it in October. We stayed 3 nights and Tuesday am was checkout and transfer to BCV. We called bell services to collect our luggage at 6:30 am....they transfered to BCV. You can also do express checkout and if your bill isnt under door when you leave, you can go to conceirge desk to have printed (you have to go there anyway)

They give you a fast pass to re-ride the safari without all the extra behind the scenes stuff. The Sunrise Safari we literally saw 75% more animals than just 1 hour later!

Note: in our daypack we packed our bathing suits so that when we went to BCV we could go right to pool as the luggage wont arrive until between 1-3. They were right on time with that too!

We did have to go back to AKL for one last peek and the rental car...but we did the rides we wanted at AKL and then headed right there. Its the shortest bus ride at WDW!
