Animal kingdom lodge standard view room suggestions

My daughter begged to stay back at AKL so we decided to take advantage of discount and switch from pirate rooms at CBR. We have a only stayed club level here before. Any suggestions on room requests for standard view?

You really don't have much choice with a standard view. You'll likely be looking at a parking lot or service area. Perhaps ask for something close to the lobby for the shorter walk to where you can see the animals?

I've always had good luck just requesting a partial savanna view. Those are the rooms that overlook the people pens so they are classified as standard.

The most recent room I stayed in was categorized as Standard and I had a view of animals. It was 3341--which is lobby level floor Kudu trail. If you go to a site like t0uringplans, you can search for rooms and see room views.

Does anyone know if they still have options at online check in? Staying standard at AKL next month. I seem to remember Arusha view being an option at one point? Is that for Jambo? Anyone know which options it gives you for AKL? Thanks!

Have you tried doing the online check-in to see the actual options? No reason you can't do that now. Then if you don't see an option you want, you can then contact MS in advance of your reservation. The online check-in options are very limited. Some resorts only offer 'near elevator', which isn't very helpful.

Sorry, I might've assumed a DVC reservation when mentioning MS. If it's not DVC, you can still call Disney to add a request.

Our standard view room had a better partial view than the club level savannah view we paid a lot for ! Tell them you are celebrating something for your daughter and ask for a partial savannah view . I would call . We always put in requests on our reservation when we book over the phone . When you are celebrating something for your kids they usually give you a nice room

Your best chances of getting a room not looking at the parking lot will be to look at a Map of the resort and request a room on one of the 2 main trails. If you request close to lobby you will likely be looking at the parking lot. To that there are a few rooms that are close to the Lobby that are standard that have partial Savannah view but far more look at the parking Lot. Or request FAR away from lobby for the best chance
