I purchased points at AKV, sight unseen, so I am always looking for photos to see what it really looks like (Still have not been there...). These pictures offer some new and wonderful perspectives. I saw things I never noticed before (I guess that's the idea, right?).

I'm sorry but I looked through all the pictures your DD took, well AKL and OKW (I believe) I could never tell what the focus of the picture was, what I thought would be the focus in some is way to dark to see and the sky is always blown out. I'm really glad that your DD loves photography (passion of mine also) but she still has a few things to work on. They all look like "let'sd see how many different angles I can take a picture of this object from" She needs to wokr on having a focus in her image. If she was just looking to show everyone what every nook and cranny of the resort looks like, she did that. There is 1 or 2 that look like she had a plan, but other than that... Sorry. I just don't get that warm fuzzy feeling when I look at some other pictures of the resort.

Thanks for your comments, pyrxtc. I think I'm the one that's caused your frustration. There are zillions of post card type photos of the resorts out there and I wanted Katie to do something different. I wanted her to try to capture the atmosphere or "feel" of the resorts and urged her to stay away from the types of photos most of us take. I hope this makes sense.

Nice job Katie and thanks for sharing, John. We stayed at AKV in February and I think her pictures did a good job of capturing the "essence of AKL".

My DS14 looked at the pictures from OKW and I sent him this link also. He is quite the budding photographer and always wonders what others are doing. As I said last time, maybe he can do an "essence of SSR" in January. I am sure the resort can look different during different seasons also.

I understand why some of the pictures look a little dark, I feel that in some ways AKV is a "darker" resort, and the focus of these pictures reflects that.
