Can the concierge rooms at the Animal Kingdom Lodge sleep 5 people. On the description of the rooms when I try to book, it does not list a daybed. Are there daybeds in these rooms?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

The AKL concierge room I had last week contained 2 queen beds plus a daybed.

I do believe that there are other room configurations, however... including some King beds and some bunks.

Yes, you can have 2 queen and a daybed or 1 queen, bunkbeds and a daybed. I would book via telephone vs on the web so you can have the CM be sure and note that you have 5. This way they can reserve the proper room configuration. A few of the rooms don't have the daybed and some have a king and a daybed. My sil likes they queen, bunks and daybed so her kids can all have their own bed!

This is incorrect. The concierge rooms that sleep 5 ONLY have the 1 queen, bunkbeds and daybed configuration. There aren't any rooms at AKL that have 2 queens and a daybed. If the room contains 2 queens, there is no daybed in the room, thus those rooms sleep 4 (yes there are deluxe rooms that only sleep 4). It is possible that there aren't any concierge rooms left that sleep 5, since they are limited. When we checked into concierge, we had requested a room with bunks. We were told that concierge legally had to hold those rooms for parties of 5, but if they would be left unoccupied, we were welcome to it. Otherwise, we would have recieved a room with two queens, since there are no queen, bunk (with no daybed) in concierge. I suggest you call WDW directly to make the reservation, since you have to be assured you're getting a concierge room that sleeps 5.

I hate to disagree but we stayed in AKL concierge in June and had a room with 2 queen beds and a daybed. We were not on the concierge floor but did pay for and receive privledges for the lounge and services. We had a savanna view on the floor below the concierge floor.

TJ - that is VERY interesting. When we stayed in Concierge I was told that only two room types were available. One with the queen, bunks and daybed and one with two queens only (no daybeds). I was told that because these are theonly two configurations available, they couldn't guarantee me a bunk room, since those were the only rooms that would fit five guests. We also were on the 5th floor, but booked concierge before leaving home. Is it possible you upgraded at check-in? That would explain what I was told by the concierges at AKL, MANY times.

No - actually we booked the concierge level with a great AP rate before the trip. It was an anniversary trip (yes with kids, ha!) and my dh had just gotten a promotion so the CM was great about getting us the savannah view as well as a non smoking room. It was a gift and surprise for DH.

We didn't even need the daybed but I remember my girls having a picnic on it one night while dh and I sat on the balcony. I also remember thinking the room was very cramped so maybe they have removed some of the daybeds? Let me ask DH just to be sure I haven't had brain loss.

OTOH - Its spring and we still have 3 HUGE snowmen in our backyard - I should fly out and check on those rooms today!

We stayed in a 6th floor concierge room in Nov. 2003 and had 2 queens and a daybed. I requested that arrangement on my pre-trip planner they mailed us from the Kilamanjaro Club and when they called to confirm the PS. etc. the CM told me they would try to accomodate my request, but they gave first priority for the rooms with a daybed to parties of 5 (we only had 4 but I thought it would be nice to avoid the "she's hogging the covers..." discussion every night at bedtime!!)

When we arrived the room had 2 queens and a daybed. Savannah view, 6th floor can't remember the room#, sorry. I even checked our pictures to make sure...yep, 2 queens and a daybed. We were about 3/4th's of the way down the hall from the lounge on the savannah view side.

Hello everyone! Just back from the AKL CL and room # 6402 has the 2 queens and daybed.
Had a wonderful chat with our maid and got all the bedding arrangements and room numbers for concierge.
Will post later as it is still packed!
(We just got home and I'm already back on the DIS! LOL!)

As usual, AKL CL was AWESOME!
And the SUNSET (Wayama) safari was INCREDIBLE!
And they did it for only the 4 of us!:sunny:

Will post later with more info!::yes::

Welcome Back Bambi!

To all of those needing room for five on Easter week, you won't have to fight with me for a deluxe room for five! We will only be three of us this trip since DD has decided to go with her friends to Panama Beach on her senior trip *I am too old for this, or too young, or something!* I can't wait to hear about room locations from BT! All I care about is the view!
