Animal kingdom closing before our tour finishes?

We've just booked a Savor the Savanah tour for April 28th. It starts at 5:15PM, and I know that it lasts around 2 hours. The park hours for that day are listed as closing at 6 PM though...

Will we be allowed to stay past closing because of our tour? Does this mean no Rivers of Light? Should we swap park days and move it to the 29th, which has normal hours?

1. Of course.
2. Maybe. The hours may be extended.
3. If that suits your trip, you could do that.
It’s much too far in advance to know how the times and events may change.

You will need to leave the park at the end of the tour, although you do not have to hustle for the park exit on foot.

If stores are still open and serving day guests then you may dawdle and shop also.

The park closing time is defined as the latest time a guest may get in line for a ride.

I think we may try to switch days, then - even if we don't have to hustle, I want to leave the parks after dark, so my grandma can see Pandora lit up! And while I'm not big on RoL, I think some other party members might like it.

I have a feeling it's a private event, since there's no hard ticket event scheduled during that time (yet, though we wouldn't go to that anyway) and no other surrounding dates have it closing before 8. Luckily I checked really early for hours, I guess - it's not something we want to gamble on whether it changes.

That's so weird, I just posed it was closing at 6 on May 6th (Wednesday) also. I also assumed an event, but maybe they are just closing early once a week?

Yes! I saw it was the week before too, at 5! Either they're closing early sometimes, or they have a series of private or hard-ticket events coming up on those days that haven't been made public? Either way, I'm glad I checked!
