Animal Kingdom at opening-bus or our own car?

What method of transportation is better if we want to be at AK at opening-our own car, or the Disney bus? We have a HA Placard-will we be able to park close enough not worry about distance from the parking lot to the park? I'll be on an ECV, and DH is experienced with breaking it down and putting it back together. My main concern is whether we'll get in to the parking lot at all early? The park opens at 7:30, so I don't see DH wanting to get there for 7:00, but he could surprise me. We're coming from OKW, if that makes any difference.

For us, we would drive. It gives you more control over the timing. I'd say it might be an even better idea if you're on an ECV, just in case you have a line of ECVs waiting on a bus that could cause you to wait for an additional bus. Having experienced the multiple bus stops at OKW in the morning, ECV availability on the bus could be even more difficult.
