Does anyone know about this or have any experiences doing this?? I'd love to hear a review or two or from someone who has knowledge of this. I was really just looking to see what different safari experiences were available when staying at the lodge. I know they USED to do a sunrise, and a sunset safari. But i think both arent running any longer. Any help or expereiences (or photos) would be greatly apprecaited!

We did the Wanyama Safari. Its was VERY costly, because it has the chefs table at Jiko, Think aroudn $200 per person (sucked bacuase 13 year old daughter went and they didnt give me her wine)

It was about 2 hours, pretty cool. Got very close to the animals, giraffes especially. Daughter got to ring the bell that they use to train the pigs/warthogs to go to dinner.

I would recommend it if you have the funds.

That sounds awesome. I see that in our next anniversary trip.

I hope this isn't the one that was canceled. Didn't they cancel one this december? I think it wa as concierge only one...??

We did the night safari this January. It was one of my favorite experiences at WDW. You meet up at Sanaa about 15 minutes before tour time (I believe 10 pm) and then they load you up into a very comfortable safari type vehicle. Our tour guide knew everything there was to know about the animals and running the savannahs at the resort. Super informative fun tour. They also give you a military grade night vision binocular that is AMAZING and you can put your smartphone or camera lens up to it to take photos or video. I believe me and my BF spent about $140 total on the tour. They also give you a glow in the dark bracelet and glow in the dark pin to keep. Also, part of the tour cost goes to conservation. It was wonderful!

Not the clearest photo but you get the point :)

If you can swing it financially I highly recommend the Wanyama safari! It's truly a wonderful experience!

We did the Wanyama in March and it was wonderful. The dinner was very good. We gathered in Jiko around 4PM, and got into the safari vehicle around 4:30 for about 1.5-2 hours. Then we ate. We didn't leave until after 8PM. Very enjoyable.

We also did the night saferi last December...really enjoyed it...bundle up, it was cold out there in the bush

The Night safari sounds neat! How many people were in your groups? Also how long did it last? Do you just ride through the savannah and pull up whenever you come across some animals?

There were around ten people...and yes we paused quite a bit to watch the animals. We were there in December and if the temperature falls below a certain degree some animals go back in the barns...there are different temps for different animals, and some animals the temperature doesn't matter. We had a great time, I think we were out 90 minutes. Highly recommend it. We switched to AKV just so wet could participate in the Saferi and to check out the resort...loved it...

We did the Night Safari last Wednesday. It was the highlight of our trip. It was definitely worth the money for us but we are animal lovers.

We have done both Wayama safari and the night safari. Both were great experiences. We did the night safari just last month, and the Wayama safari last June. I just discovered that my DSLR has night vision. I took pictures through the night vision lens they let us use. It took OK pictures, but, I didn't take the DSLR. I used a Nikon point and shoot type camera, which couldn't always focus through the night vision lens. So, I have to talk my family into going again, and taking the dslr.
