While I was coasting through the fast pass lane at Soarin' a few days ago, there was a boisterous guest in the standby line who was yelling at the cast member near the front of the queue. He shouted some profanities. Things like "This is f---ing ridiculous", and "What the f--- is going on up there??". He was very loud, and totally out of line. Probably too many cold ones at the Biergarten.

The cast member appeared like he was just blocking him out, but when I asked him about it he said "Don't worry, I've already contacted security". He then said this happens quite frequently in the Soarin' queue for some reason.

My thoughts are, don't people see the sign that clearly says 120 MINUTE WAIT??? And they had the option of getting a fast pass in the morning, but like I always say- You snooze, you lose.

When we were there last month it was the very end of the day - about 8:30 pm at Epcot and Mission Space was a walk-on at that point. I noticed 2 guys come in to ride MS and they were clearly drunk - I mean - they couldn't even stand still to watch the pre-show video without being wobbly. They were also hitting on a couple of women waiting in a different line but next to them. The guys were probably in their early 20's. I was surprised they let them in they were so clearly drunk - and I can just imagine what riding Mission Space did to their stomachs. I was just thankful it wasn't crowded and we had to ride with them! Of course I'm assuming they were drunk. They acted drunk but maybe they had been riding MS all day and their brains and sense of balance were fried :earboy2:

I wonder if Epcot tends to have more drunken/boisterous guests than the other parks?

Fast Pass is only way to go with Soarin. We went on it first ting in morning and got a Fast Pass when we got off so we were able to ride twice with a total wait time for both time was less than 20 minutes.A awesome attraction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :earsboy:  :wizard: :wave2:

That's exactly what we did. FP first..and then waited in line. We got to ride it twice in 20 mins.

Soarin' ride count: 10

I suspect that this is pretty-much a standard thing for brand-new, thrill ride attractions at any major theme park. Glad to hear that the CMs were right on top of if.

When we were there on Memorial day, we entered the standby line with a posted wait of 70 minutes. The actual wait time turned out to over 120 minutes. We have been to WDW over 20 times so,we were not in a rush to get to everything in the park and the wait was in air conditioning on a very warm day, so we were only mildly annoyed about the difference between the posted wait time and the actual wait, but for people on a tight time schedule it could be very upsetting. I have heard complaints that they are issuing too many fastpasses for the ride capacity. The fastpass line when we were there was backed up to first big picture in the que. Those people had at least a 30 minute wait and that is not what fastpass is about.

Definitely FP is the way to go for this attraction! The queing area in WDW isn't as good as the one at DisneyLand, the one there has lots of aviation history and memorabilia so people have lots to read and look at while waiting. I also couldn't believe that people were waiting 120 minutes, it's like, 'Get a FastPass, Man!" We also got FP for this attraction twice and were able to walk right on.

Pocahontas....I was just going to post about the poor themeing of the que as compared to DL. I loved all the flight related photos there. Was choked up seeing the photo of Columbia just after it had been lost.

The WDW que is horrid. It's like standing in some government office buidling corridor.

We had a FP and babyswap--it took my hubby and daughter forever to ride after the swap. It was b/c one part broke down or something. If they can't load one of the rooms--it will inevitably cause a backup.

We "walked right on" with our FP and it was still 15 minutes before we got the area just before you entered to be seated.

The ride loads a lot of people--but the transitions are somewhat slow.

All the more better reason to get a FP!

I didn't wait in line--but I agree in general for the whole building in general. They turned it rather bland and ordinary. Not sure what in the world they were thinking...there seemed to be more texture and dimension before and all the walls are rather flat and drab. Wait 2 hours in a line? No thanks!

I'd suggest that perhaps too many guests are using the stand-by queue -- there is a limited capacity, and FastPass is a great service, so I'd say that there should be a point at which Disney should just close the queue to more guests, or in some other way communicate to the guest that they need to be prepared for an extraordinarily long wait if they insist on waiting for that one specific attraction.

DD and I rode Soarin today. As we made our way through the fastpass lane, I heard several people say "How come they get to go ahead of everyone else?". It is amazing, but many people don't understand fastpass.

When we got to the end of the fastpass lane, there was a family in front of us. They didn't have fastpasses, but had a handicapped person with them. They saw our fastpasses and asked us how much they cost. Wow!

This amuses me--b/c I am always curious about what symbols on maps and signs mean. It is all clearly marked on the maps, info boards--and at the attraction. Plenty of CMs to ask as well.

I mean--before they got in line...didn't they notice the multiple entrances and the funny little boxes between the entrance and exit?

As far as not knowing the wait---they have an extraordinary large line capacity. When we walked in with FP...SB was 80 minutes and it was a long walk before we encountered people. While I don't think they should close the line for extraordinary waits--it might be nice if the cast member or at least a HUGE sign (both which would get ignored anyway) to encourage using the FP option.

We walked right on here last month after my daughter's princess breakfast. Or rather my husband did since I didn't ride it. There wasn't a wait.
But even if there was, you gotta know so why complain?

Does Soarin have a single riders line? If so, does anyone know the wait time for it?

Yes they do---I didn't see anybody in it when I went...so i would "guess" that the wait time if any is a small fraction of the main line.

And the fastpasses were gone at 4:00pm! :confused3 So, standby was 40 min wait....and I waited about 22 of the 40 which wasn't bad. The next day I went back, about the same time, and again NO Fastpasses. :confused3 Standby line said 45 min.....I waited 49 min! :guilty: Oh, well, it was worth the wait, now, if I can ONLY get in row 1 I would be thrilled!!!!! :teeth:

Sometimes , there are good reasons to be in the standby line. In our case, we had a long wait for bell services @WLV to pick up our luggage(they said it had been picked up and put in storage already )by the time we got to EPCOT we went straight to Soarin but the fastpasses were for past the time we had to leave for the airport. That's why we got in standby. The singles line was not open and the posted time was 70 minutes which we were willing to accept. The problem for many of the people in line with us was that the wait time turned out to be almost twice as long as stated. We were not being ignorant about fastpass, we wanted to ride soarin and standby was the only way we were going to be able to.

I used it on May 11th, I walked through the que and was 3rd in line. I asked the cm about the wait time, he said he didn't know since it was the first day they were using it.

Good plan. That is what we will do.
