Okay so i have been lurking around on this board ever since i joined in 2008. I was afraid to actually start a planning journal because of where we are not doing a disney wedding. But since i have seen some other at home wedding on here i thought i would go ahead and start one.
All little bit about us:
Me (Angie): i am 25 years old and from Paintsville, Ky. Yes i am a country girl. I am a college student studying photography. I really want to be a wedding photographer. I am also very shy (another reason i hadn't started a planning journal before now). I am a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota (music fraternity for women). I also participate in colorguard/winterguard.
DF (Nathan): He is 23 years old from Newport, KY (across the river from Cincinnai, OH).So he is somewhat a city boy. Also a college student studying music education. He is quiet most of the time unless he's with his frat brothers. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (music fraternity for men).
How we met/How we started dating:
OKay so the way we met is kinda weird. Okay at our college there is nothing better to do other than study or go to walmart. So me and some friends started playing a game called Assassians. Its a game in which you draw someone name and to are to "kill" them (not actually killing, we just said a line and that was the killing.) Well one night i knew someone was out to get me so i asked Nathan to stand near me the whole time i was there. I needing up having to leave going to a night class on the other end of campus, so he walked me all the way there.
After that we kept on running into each other because of our fraternities are the music frats on campus. Also his friend just kept on making us bump into each other.And one night after a colorguard rehearsal he finally came out and asked me "What are we?" because we have been hanging out almost every day. And i said that "i would like to make this work. So we decided that night (10.4.06) we were a couple and the rest is history.
Engagement:
Since i take part in the winterguard activities i travel during the winter months competing and performing. On February 24, 2007 we (the gaurd) was performing at a high school near Nathan's parents house so instead of making the 3 hour trip back that late at night we went to stay at his parents house. His parents had just bought a new house. Me and Nathan had talked about getting married before this so he wanted me to help choose a color to paint "our" room. So after arriving at the house we were sitting in the living room floor. We choose a baby blue color to paint the room. Afterwards i was sitting there while he was lying there with his head in my lap watching Ghost Hunters. When he turned his head and asked "Did you like choosing the color?" and i replied that i did infact. Then the proposal. He asked "Would you like to do that the rest of our lifes?" I said yes, he puts the ring on my finger and proceeds to tell me that its was his mother's original engagement ring.
Wedding:
After my first visit to WDW in June of 2008 and learned that you could weddings there i was stuck on wanting a disney wedding. I had planned it all i wanted an escape wedding at SBP with a bouquet of red roses. But DF really wanted to have the wedding close to home. So we came to a compromise we would have the wedding in Cincinnati with a Disney honeymoon and later having a vow renewal at WDW.
Next Time: My wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses.

I think an at home wedding with a Disneymoon is a great compromise so you can still fit Disney in there somewhere. You are getting married a day after me!
