Bethany, I am not a big Halloween fan. The kids always dressed up and we gave out candy but I don't decorate or anything. In fact, I am happy when something conflicts and we can skip it altogether.

That last part is true. My mom actually planned a trip to WDW over Halloween so we didn't have to do much except take costumes. They weren't even new costumes. It was a deal, no new halloween costumes, but we got to go to Disney World.

In other news, I'm bored, which is probably why I'm making this appearance. Have any of you heard about the bill in the House of Representatives that would reinstitute the draft? Apparently it includes women and excludes college as a reason for not being part of the draft. Is this true? Am I really far behind? Its a bit scary.

And here's a pirate smiley in honor of my friend Chris. pirate:

I have to admit, I am not a big decorator for any holiday, but Luis is... he particularly loves Halloween. It's actually one of his favorite holidays to prepare for. As we were in Target, he was trying to convince me to buy a fog machine :p
Just a fast drive thru right now, but had to comment on fog machines....be careful about letting them go off in the house. Unless of course you want a sure way to test the smoke detectors!!!!!! It took us almost 10 minutes to get our detectors to stop buzzing and another 10-20 min. to get all the fog out of the house:o

Ok off to figure out dinner. Later
:wave2:

I wouldn't worry too much about the draft.

While there actually is legislation, it was made more for an Anti-war statement. Also, there was some speculation due to 20 year vacancies on the Selective Service board that are being advertised now, but that's coincidental.

Here's the scoop:

Is it getting drafty in here?

BTW, does your Mom know you're in Vegas? ;)

Sarah, Alan beat me to the punch on this. I was typing it up as his came on. The original text of this has made it's way into chain e-mail letters. The opinion given is that it will not come to pass. I would say that the likelihood of it coming back and being even more aggressive than in the past is remote. So don't be alarmed because at this time it is just speculation.

Go back to worrying about your studies and what you are going to do with your Friday & Saturday nights! :p (Sorry Carol!)

Phew. Thanks Lou and Alan. I was really not looking forward to learning how to use some automatic weapon. Meh.

Well off to band. Then Gilmore Girls tonight. I'll be sure to be back to squeal later.

Matthew gets to go to Marching Band Practice in the rain tonight:umbrella: .....do you remember having to do that Sarah??
This weekend is Homecoming & the Marching 220 (that's what they call the HS band) might be the Marching Soggy 220:umbrella:
He's pretty excited about getting to drive the van up to the school:hyper: for the first time ever:bounce:

Maybe I'll get a part time job while we're here in Vegas.......

but I'm not showing you the front!!!!

Okay Lars... what is beneath those feathers  ;)

Call me silly, but since Luis turned 27, I have ignored all that draft talk. Thanks Lou & Alan... nice to read up on it :)

Need to figure out what would be good for dinner... I want ice cream... Luis doesn't... hmmm......

Here's some info on Just Ducky Tours These are vehicles that drive around the streets and can also float in the river.

The girls had a ton of fun. We did something like this in San Diego.

I tried to copy a picture here but they came out huge!

I do, I do!!!!!! :D

I've been busy and haven't been able to catchup, boards are still slow for me tonight. :(

It's really raining here too Gerri. :umbrella:

I missed the earlier conversation about Duck tours but just wanted to chime in that I went on one in Boston and it was great!!!

I want a Disney bear too!!!! ::yes::

The little princess: has a build a bear............it has a better wardrobe than I do.................................:teeth:

Wow, we've been lucky... been beautiful weather here lately... but love that pic, Gerri... the poor kitties & puppies :o

I have a couple BAB myself... Lito and Larissa... so much fun to go shopping for :teeth:

Well it's nice to see that Sarah is alive and well. And I am glad she probably won't have to worry about the draft.

I believe they have the Duck tours in Baltimore and I know they are in DC.

Allrighty, I am off now to start building an ark.

Ah, I suppose these are the same as Ride the Ducks in Branson. Glad the girls had fun.

The grand opening was fantastic. The new building is state of the art and the kids did such a great job! I was very proud of Amy. She looked very grown up in her long black dress. Mom didn't come and as I suspected there were empty seats.

David picked up tons of stuff on different colleges and universities, so I guess his evening was a positive experience. I haven't talked to him yet. He's been on the phone with Emily ever since we got back.

I'd like to have a build a bear myself. I think they are too cute. Maybe I'll get one for Amy one of these days. I already buy outfits for her American Girl dolls.

I have to admit that the idea of the draft scares me silly, but I keep hearing that it probably won't come to pass. I think highly of the military, but I prefer voluntary service to the draft.

mp-

Bethany!! How adorable!!

I don't have a BAB but I visit them at the mall (this is where having a girl would be kinda nice)
