Elaine: I didnt invite you because I LIKE YOU and wouldnt want to subject you to my family or Dan's......:p
however, Sue and LK are going to come too so feel free to join us...
we can see the Cranberry fireworks from my front yard at 10:00 and they are usually pretty good!

Morning Everyone,
Yesterday was fun but exhausting. The first part of our canoe trip was through Class 3 rapids, a little bumpy, and a lot of work. AJ and Meghan screamed through the whole thing that they wanted to go home, and as soon as we were in calm waters they wanted to go back and shoot the rapids again...:rotfl: Truthfully, had I known that part of the river was as rough as it was I would NEVER had agreeded to take the kids along. :(
Today is running errands day...including grocery shopping with 3 kids....just shoot me now
Quiet couple of days coming up...HOPEFULLY...then a BIG weekend.....Richard Petty Experience, then watching JR kick some good old southern *** in Daytona!

LOL, well in that case with Sue, LK and Lou possibly coming I think I'll stay at home ;)

Seriously that is cool though that you can see the fireworks from your front yard! I have to walk a couple blocks to get passed some tall trees to see ours. Although I might skip fireworks all together this weekend, and just stay curled up in bed with my two kitties :)

Steph, glad you had fun yesterday. Sorry the rapids were so rough though :( Sometime I would love to do something like that! A group of friends were maybe saying this summer and we can go camping too!!

Got that nasty thing done with the system. What I fought with for over an hour yesterday and got no where, I did in about 45 minutes today

Morning All!

E - wonderful photos! a beautiful outside wedding.

Gail - it's getting closer..................

We are probably going to the IL's on the 4th to watch the Pittsburgh fireworks. They live on Mt. Washington which overlooks the city. I hate going there though since people park all over the streets and it takes forever to get home. They also don't have air conditioning which makes it really fun to sit in a sweaty house all day.

Did someone call me?

good morning

I finally tracked down Sam's water toy for his birthday party...he wanted the Pirates of The Carribbean water slide. SO we headed off to Toys R US last night only to find a whole line of Disney themed water toys. They had held a slide for us, but we ended up not even buying it....we ended up with a double wide Blizzard Beach slide instead. Its actually kinda cute, 2 slides side by side and they end up at the alligator holding 2 hoops. I guess it comes with balls so the kids can race down the slide and see who gets the ball in the hoop first.
They had a Pirates water slide, Pirates pool (with water shooting canons), Ariel's Grotto and a Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin....Buzz stays attached somehow to the hose and you have to somehow control it and try to shoot the Zurg targets with water.
I think I need to watch for these things to go on sale....I really liked the Pirates stuff.

Pirates Slide
Pirates Pool
Blizzard Beach Slide
Ariel's Grotto

We just bought Lela's first Slip N Slide from Toys R Us too, but it was one of the 6 Flags themed ones.

It wasn't until later that we saw the Pirate one and after she saw something at a VBS last week, she has gone Pirate crazy!

I had no idea my little princess would go for the pirate theme but she has a love for treasure hunts.

Mrs. AA and I are looking at Imaginext, Fisher Price, and Playmobil pirate ships for birthday ideas now....

Bethany - thanks for the links. My DD would love the Ariel Grotto, but it does look kinda small.

Alan - if you lived closer, you could have my kids Pirate Ship. My DS hardly played w/ it.

Hmmmm :scratchin I've been looking for a legitimate reason to come to PA....

My new desk....The door is still off on the bottom because Lou needs to cut out another panel from the back to make room for all the connections on the tower. And I am debating adding my old corkboard panels to the inside of this. That explains why there is one inside the desk and the other lying off to the side.

Logan has both the Fisher Price and Playmobil pirate ships. He still plays with them, especially in the pool, lol. Anything Playmobil is always a pain in the you-know-what to put together. When the Fisher Price sets came out, they had a ton of accessories you could get to go along with it.

Legit reason to come here? Ummm, her life wouldn't be complete without coming to see some real Pirates, right? ::yes::

Come on up Alan! I'm sure I have many more toys I can load in your car!:teeth:

I just offered to take one pirate ship..don't get carried away! :teeth:

My girls aren't exactly toy-deprived either. :p

I've never actually seen any of the Playmobil stuff in person, but am surprised at the cost difference between it and what appears to be comperable sets from other manufacturers.

Why the difference?

BTW, when we went to We B Toys to look for sets, we did pick up two more outfits for 8" Madeline dolls. I was pleased to see the "new" Madelines were on clearance.

I hope the public rejects those abominations and sends a message back to the manufafcturers..what were they thinking?

Hello All....

Yes, I'm the AWOL angel back again. I have to get back into the DIS swing of things properly!

Sorry for missing all your news, hope everyone is well and safe and happy :)

I'll be trying to do a bit of a read, a bit of catching up, this evening but right now I still have work to do.

Just wanted to stop in :)

Cya,
Gaspode
