I had bad news tonight. My uncle (the one that was in Branson with us last weekend) found out today he has colon cancer. He wasn't feeling well last weekend and he had trouble eating anything. He's already survived bladder cancer and my aunt had colon cancer a couple of years ago, too. He has another test next Tuesday and then they'll talk about surgery and options. I'm going to be posting on the Community Board asking for prayers.
We made almost a gallon of fresh salsa. Yummy! I still have tomatoes by the barrel. We may make another batch tomorrow after I put together the tabouli or I may just peel, chop and freeze the rest. My hands smell like lime and cilantro. I may have developed a new cologne?
It's been so hot and humid here. Summer is finally here to stay. I don't like this weather at all. I'm a winter person now that my medication gives me hot flashes.

It can be fifty below and I'm not too cold. To top things off, my mom is going out of town tomorrow. I'll be watering her flowers in this heat. Yuck! After her trip for fun, she'll probably be heading to Kansas City to be there if Uncle Ron has surgery.
The summer vacation is ending too quickly for our family. David starts band camp on August 9. His practices continue until school begins. They go back to school on August 25.
A little mom brag, David is improving with his swim times. Even with all the missed practices with his oral surgery and his camps, he has improved his times by several seconds this summer. I am very proud of him! He's been swimming competitively for about a year and has come a long way.
