Angela's Journey to the Life She Deserves (Posts Welcome!)

Hi Angela!:wave2: I hope you are feeling a little better today. Did you do your exercise yesterday? I did 20 min on the *evil* stepper. Are we on for a pact for today as well? I know I could really use the extra "kick"!
I hope DS is doing better with his ears. Luckily he does not seem to be too botheredby it, but you still want to stay on top of that.
Hope you are having a great day!:sunny:

Hi everyone!

Thanks to you all for stopping by. I'm feeling better today. IT seems to come and go, so it must be those lovely allergies acting up.

Yesterday slipped by before I had a chance to post in my own journal. I logged on for long enough to answer Sharon's exercise challenge, and then I never made it back. I spent most of the day baking and decorating the wedding cake. I love doing stuff like that, and I rarely have the opportunity.

I did the Pilates 20 minute workout yesterday and managed to use all of my points. I really wanted to get on the treadmill, but I just didn't have the time with all the "q" and "u" wedding nonsense. The things you do for your kids, I swear.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful Friday! Ours is bright and sunny so we're heading outside.

Way to go Angela! You are doing so great!!:smooth:
And, yes, it is amazing what we will do for our kids!! But ya gotta to admit, ya love it!:teeth: I know, cause I do too!!
Watch out for those snacks! They have a tendency to creep back into my diet if I'm not extra careful!!
I'm on for more exercise today - how about you?:Pinkbounc

Hi Angela!
I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better today.::yes:: The "q" marrying "u" wedding sounds so cute! Is the teacher going all out with invitations and stuff? The "wedding cake" sounds yummy. If you have any extra cake... you can always send some my way. ::yes::

Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone!

I thought I'd get back on track with journals (mine and everyone else's) this week, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Things have been so busy around here for some reason. I've got to reprioritize so I can make some time for myself. The journals and all your support are such a help to me. That point is driven home when I don't make it online every day. I've been cheating more than I should (still staying within points but not making good choices.) I do so much better when I'm in daily contact with this site. Is that weird? Anyway, one of my goals for the coming week is to make sure I check in at some point during the day.

In keeping with reprioritizing things here are the goals I've set for the coming week:

1. Online journal each day & catch up with my new friends!
2. 3 miles on the treadmill every day
3. Limit snacks to once a day (those WW bars are a killer!)
4. Stay low to mid-range with points

I hope that everyone has had a great weekend! See you tomorrow!

~Angela :wave2:

:wave2: Hey Angela,
How was the "wedding"? Your goals are looking sharp for this week ::yes:: . I still can't get over your 3 miles on the treadmill. 2 takes it out of me still. I hope to work up to 3 though :D .

The Pilates video I got is a Crunch Workout dvd and it's called Pick Your Spot Pilates. There are three 10 minute targeted workouts on the tape: Belly, butt, and thighs. There is also a 10 minute total body workout. Here is a picture of the cover:
http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006FMB4/ref=nosim/circustuffc0b-20/701-6596604-6208369 I bought mine at Walmart for $9.99.

Hope you have a good Sunday, Angela :sunny: !

Those are great goals to set and I'm positive you can do them! I know the journals are hard when life gets in the way. I try to at least get here 2-3 times a week but if I can get to more, I feel better about it. I know what you mean, I do tend to stay more on the straight and narrow when I'm journalling regularly. It makes a huge difference in my book!

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Angela, I've been away from your journal for so long but I'm all caught up now. So much has happened!!

I'm very glad that your trip home was a success. That family time is important! The Kenny Chesney concert sounds like such fun!! Count me as another country fan!

You've lost 16+ pounds and you have that lovely 15 pound clippie - WOW!! I know I'm pretty late on this but.....

:jumping1: CONGRATULATIONS!! :jumping1:

I hope your sweet DS' ears are getting better and that YOU are also feeling better! Make sure those points include some food with lots of vitamin C, OK? I know sometimes it's hard to tell if it's a cold or allergies - it is that time of year when my allergies rear their ugly heads also! Either way, the vitamin C will do you good! ::yes::

Keep doing that Pilates - it works! I know it isn't the easiest thing to get started with but within a couple weeks, your muscles will be feeling stronger and better!

Take care, Angela!! :sunny:

Good Monday morning everyone!

Val--The wedding was a hoot! I wish I had taken a camcorder because it was just too much. All the girls carried bouquets, wore veils and walked down the aisle. The boys wore boutonnieres and stood at the altar. The tallest girl and boy were "u" and "q", respectively. The teacher had the funniest vows written and pronounced them "Mr. and Mrs. Qu." You probably had to be there, but I don't think I'll forget it for a long time. Thanks for the info on the Pilates....I ordered it off amazon.com this morning.

Desiree and Doe--Thanks for the encouragement. I've got to get after these goals this week because I feel like I'm falling off track here.

Let's see...weigh-in was this morning, and I'm down another 1.5 pounds. That brings me to 18 total since March 1st. I'm hoping for that 20 pound clippie next week. :teeth:

I was going to update my food journal this morning since I realized I haven't been adding it here for some reason. However, the lovely puppy that I'm babysitting for my sister has destroyed my journal. I can't remember what I've eaten the past few days, so I'll just start fresh with today. Don't you just love puppies? If you do, then I'd gladly loan you this one. He's destroying our house chomp by chomp.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Monday. I'll be back on this evening to update with food and my 3 miles. :)

~Angela :wave2:

Another 1.5 lbs gone!!! You are my hero Angela!! You are doing SO awesome. WTG!!!
The wedding sounds really cute! Make sure you enjoy these things, cause it is SO true that the time just passes too quickly! What a great memory for you!
Okay sweetie, we are ON for exercise today! I am SO gonna hold your feet to the fire this week! I am just in such a mind set that I want this scale to keep moving down!:bounce: I have set my sights on July 4th and what I want to look like by then, so watch out! I am pledging 30 min on the stepper for tonight! I'm expecting 3 miles from you on the treadmill, okay?!::yes::
Have a wonderful Monday!:sunny:

That 20 lb clippie will look nice on you! Really that is a significant milestone in weight loss. Keep up the great work!

Do you walk outside or on a treadmill? I walked on my father in laws treadmill a few weeks back and it was really boring for me. I need to get outside.

Keep up the work!

Later,

Dax

okay Angela - you beat me to the exercise today, but I am on my way. Dinner is finished, kids did their homework, cat is fed, I guess I can carve out 30 min for myself now guilt free!:teeth: I am off for my big date with the stepper! This is gonna be a great week for us huh?!

Wow Angela!
Great job! That 20 lb. clippie will be yours!::yes:: You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

Tracy:wave2:

Hi Angela-

Thanks for posting to my journal- and I've had a chance to get to yours- I see we do have a lot of similarites! I also see jumping right in there with the exercise is the way to go! I may just have to join you and Sharon in the exercise challenge, I need a good prod- although the last 2 days I have walked- but not 3 miles!

These Pilates tapes sound interesting- I have heard the term but have so far managed to avoid knowing exactly what they were. (pre diet) Are they for beginners?

Here's to your continued success- I have gotten in a food rut too, easy to eat what I know the points are! But easy is good, right?
Keep up the great work:teeth:

hi angela!!! i know i've been away from your journal for a while, but i've gotten a chance to catch up :)

you've had 2 more losses since i was last here! congratulations!!! :bounce: like the others said, that 20 pound clippie is so close, you'll have it in no time :Pinkbounc

i absolutely love the wedding! how cute is that?!?! i'm just picturing it in my head, all those adorable little ones, hehe, little kids, i just love em :teeth:

so sorry that little puppy chewed up your journal, but at least you know you've been staying in your points. and at least he's a cute little fella right? :p i do love little doggies (actually, most doggies) , so i'd gladly take him off your hands :teeth:

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Good morning, everyone!

Sharon--I'm still in awe of your positive attitude. Your sights are set on July 4th, and mine are on June 3rd, so we'll just have to keep holding each other to the fire. :p

Dax--Thanks for stopping by my journal! I walk inside on a treadmill. It's actually quite relaxing for me because that's the only time when DH knows he's solely responsible for handling the kiddos. :p I do plan to get outside once it's warm enough for DS to tag along, but right now the treadmill's just the ticket for me.

Gadizlover--I'd venture to say that some of the Pilates tapes are for beginners, since that's what I am. They really give you a great workout in a short amount of time. The first time I did it I didn't see what the big deal was...until the next morning when I had sore muscles where I didn't know muscles existed.

Marcia--I just might take you up on the offer about the puppy. He's driving me , and we'll have him until the first of June. He chews EVERYTHING!!!

Tracy--Thanks for your continued encouragement. It really means a lot to me! ::yes::

Yesterday was a great day! I got my 3 miles in (half in the morning and half in the evening during DS's naps), and it felt great! I love having those exercise points, even when I don't use them. I stayed well within points, but I've got to work harder on making better choices. We've got brownies in the house right now, and I'm making DH take the rest to work so I won't be tempted to blow my snack on them...not to mention they're a ton of points!

I hope you all have a great Tuesday! :wave2:

3/29/04:
L--Roasted chicken & fat free cheese on wheat, baked ruffles, and 1/4 c. cottage cheese--6 points
D--Spaghetti w/sausage marinara sauce, garlic breadstick, salad--12
S/Dessert--Heath brownie w/ice cream--8

Total points used: 26

Thanks for checking out my journal's opening day and for the words of encouragement! To return the favor, I wanted to point out a couple WW recipes I posted yesterday on the (healthy living?) page recipe index that you might want to try.

I quickly looked through just your first and last page of journals. Disney trips are also a great motivator for me. There is nothing like a milestone memory family photo that is great of everyone but me to make me want to lose weight. I have been on WW since October and went to Disney in late Feb. The photos that were taken at Chef Mickey's, for example, were something to be proud of, compared to a 1998 photo of me and Pooh that I wasn't sure who was who. 2004 went into a frame, 1998 went into a box. What a waste of precious memories due to pride!

Good luck with your goals and CONTINUED weight loss!

Sincerely,
Disneygoof

Hi Angela!
I got my exercise in last night!:hyper: I did 20 min on the *evil* stepper and i really "worked it"!! I am on again for tonight - how about you?
I know what you mean about the temptation - we've had lots of junk in the house the last week..... But just remember nothing tastes as good as thin feels!!:teeth: Seriously, if you can't handle it, get it out of the house. In time it will be okay, but until your ready, don't make it harder on yourself.:(
Hope you have a great day today Angela! I'll check back with you later.

:wave2: Hi Angela,
Great job with the treadmill. I know what you mean about it being relaxing. We have a tv in the basement where the treadmill is so I get to actually watch what I want for a change and don't have to worry about anybody bothering me down there ;) . It's good for my mental health as well as my physical health!

Good for you to get those brownies out of the house :D! Hope today is a great one for you :sunny: .

Good evening guys!

Disneygoof--Thanks for the recipe tips. I'll check them out this evening. I know what you mean about the wasted Disney photos. Chef Mickey's is one of a very few photos that I'm in for both our trips. I can't stand the way I look on film, but I'm changing that before October! ::yes::

Sharon--Yippee!! We've made it through the first day of our exercise challenge. I'm so proud of us both! :Pinkbounc :bounce: Are you ready for round 3 on Wednesday?

Val--I knew I couldn't be the only one who's discovered the peace of the treadmill. I'm so glad you stopped by today. :D

Well...everything was going along great today until I had words with DH this evening. DH & I don't really even fight. We usually misunderstand what the other person says and get ticked off for a bit. Tonight it was my turn, and my old emotional eating habit was triggered for the first time since I've started this way of life. I knew what I was doing because I was counting the chips as I stuffed them in my mouth. Anyway...I still have points left over, but I feel like you know what, and it was TOUGH doing those last 2 miles on the treadmill. I WILL NOT let that happen again. UGH!

On the bright side, I stuck to my goal of completing 3 miles on the treadmill again today.

I'm so glad that it's almost time for bed so I can put this episode completely behind me. I'm ducking out of here now...

Have a nice night everyone!
