Android Tablet vs. 3rd Gen Ipod Touch ?

I see the Andriod Touch Tablet will be available for about $139 on BF, and that's roughly what an older refurb Ipod touch goes for on the Apple website. I have had an Ipod and love apple products.

But this will be for my 10 year old and I'm thinking the 7" screen might be better for him & I'm hoping possibly a bigger item will mean less times we have to search for it I have no clue about the Android and the reviews are 50/50.

Are there free apps available for this product and are they decent? Any tips??

The cons I have read about this device are that the touch screen is almost impossible to use unless you have a stylus because it is a resistive screen. I also read that the battery life is not good.

I have a droid phone and there are quite a few apps available, so I wouldn't think that would be a big issue.

I would make sure that runs Froyo or 2.0 driod and up. I going through that same debat myself. All know I want 2.0 or higher getting driod tablet. If want the support go with ipod touch. If want do a little tinkering get some apps to work driod tablet.

Good source that has been helping figure out what I want is amazon.com and type in tablets and read the reviews.
