Thanks ladies! The bacheloretty party was fun but a little drama...I was gonna wait for pics, but I think I might go write a post about it now.

So last night was my bachelorette party and gasp! I didn't take any pictures--not one! My mom, aunt, and maid of honor took them all! We had sooo much fun, but there was also a little drama too. I think I am going to wait to do the full report when I get the pictures from everyone, but for right now, I just gotta vent!:headache:

So a couple of posts ago, I wrote about a mini-bridezilla moment I had with one of my friends. Well, apparently, one of the times we all split up for food, she was talking about it with a bridesmaids. And my matron of honor happened to be with them and she told me the girl was talking about how I went completely bridezilla on her and she didn't understand why and that she didn't think she said anything wrong. My matron of honor looked at her and said "you made it seem like she was inconveniencing you" but apparently my friend didn't say anything back. And then the bridesmaid and her were talking about how I'm being bridezilla because I want the bridesmaids hair to be a certain way ( I want it up and in curls..and I'm paying for their hair and makeup! Is that such a bad thing to want??) So when my matron of honor told me about that, I was a little mad but got over it. :rolleyes2

But then...oh man. I am so pissed at my MAID of honor right now. :furious: And this might get confusing because I have both a MAID of honor and MATRON of Honor but here goes. First of all, my MAID of Honor has not called ONCE to ask about wedding plans. She did call once to see if we could meet up for lunch last week, but then bailed because she was sick (I understand the being sick part, but she didn't even try to reschedule). So she really has no idea what's going on for the wedding. My MATRON of honor planned EVERYTHING for last night, and with my mom planned everything for my shower tomorrow. The only thing my MAID of Honor did was make up a mini scavenger hunt for me to do last night. So really, she hasn't been involved in the wedding process at all (and she lives here in Orlando, so there's really no excuse).

And I had been going back and forth about whether or not my MAID of Honor or MATRON of Honor was going to be standing behind me. I have been best friends with my MAID of Honor for about 9 years, and been best friends for my MATRON of honor for about 3 years. I am much closer to my MATRON of honor right now, but my MAID of honor is such drama so I didn't know what to do. I finally decided that I wanted my MATRON of honor to be behind me because she has been so involved and helpful with this whole thing. I knew my MAID of honor was going to be pissed, but oh well.

So last night she said she was so glad that she wasn't going to be walking down the aisle with my brother because they don't get along (although I found out that she told my mom last night that she and my brother did a whole flirting thing but decided it wouldn't work...umm, my brother can't stand her so I doubt that). Anyways, I told her that she would be walking with DF's brother, Kevin. She looked at me and asked who the best man was and I said "Kyle" (which is DF's twin). And I think that she got then that she was not going to be right behind me. Well, I guess that made her mad because she told my mom later in the night that I was a bridezilla because I told her that her hair had to be and in curls and that I wanted all of her tatoos that could be seen covered in makeup (mind you, I told her that I wanted her hair to be up in curls when I first got engaged and her hair was to the middle of her back. She then proceeded to cut it to her chin...so I thold her she needed to find some way to pin it up in curls) and the she has known about the tattoo covering for years...she always joked about waiting for me to get married so she could get another tattoo. But apparently I am now a bridezilla for wanting this.

Please tell me the truth guys...Am I a bridezilla for wanting the girls hair up and in curls and for the one girls' tattoos to be covered in makeup?:confused3

Oh and the kicker...the plan was for after Epcot closed, we were going to Jellyrolls. So my MAID of honor, who is a major party girl says to me as we're walking to Jellyrolls "I have to work at 7 in the morning so I am leaving now". Seriously??? She's known about this for how long??? And I can't even tell you how often that she stays til bar closings only to get up to go to work early the next morning! It was 9:45!!! Oh man. And when she bailed, at the time I didn't realize that she maybe did it because she was pissed about the whole not walking behind me thing, but still!

So, if you actually read that, thank you! That was long but I so needed to vent! I am so angry and hurt by my MAID of honor.:sad1: But I am looking forward to my bridal shower tomorrow and posting pictures of everything!!!

I hope you have a ton of fun at your shower and I'm sorry about all the drama!! I completely understand the frustration on trying not to hurt anyone's feelings. If your matron of honor has really been the one planning with you through all of this then you should have her behind you on your wedding day. It also really sucks that your maid of honor bailed on you the night of your bachelorette. Maybe her feelings were hurt but bailing on your bachelorette is really crappy.

As for the hair and tattoos, I completely agree with the tattoo thing. If you've felt strongly about this for a long time and it was understand, I think it's reasonable. I know you're paying for the hair, but does everyone have to match exactly? Maybe some of them don't feel like they look their best with their hair up and curly. If you really feel strongly about it, you are the one paying for it. So I guess it ultimately is your choice.

I'm glad you have a matron of honor who's helping out with everything. It sounds like you girls had a lot of fun (save the maid on honor).

Asking the bridesmaids to have their hair a certain way when YOU are paying for it does not in any way make you a bridezilla. You're paying, you can have it any way you want it. As for the tattoos, still doesn't make you a bridezilla. The girls were duly warned about that. They get to show them off every other day, they can suck it up for one for a friend.

Not be rude or offensive, but can you smack this girl? Just once?

Also, I think she might need to read up on how the 'of honor's walk down the aisle. The matron is always closer to the bride (so all my sources say).

Hopefully (pixie dust and fingers crossed), she'll behave for your wedding and suck it up. She can complain all she wants when it's over because she can't ruin it anymore.

Um, you are NOT a bridezilla at all. The girls all know that I have final say in what their hair going to be once we decide on a dress. And I totally get the whole covering of the tattoo thing! I'm the only one that's heavily tattooed in my bridal party, aside from DF, and if any of my girls's tattoos showed I'm sure they'd totally understand about it if I had asked them to cover it.

She needs to get her panties untwisted and get over it lol. =]

Lol, I'm actually watching Bridezilla right now... and this is not you. Seriously... the people I'm watching are crazy. I don't think it's unreasonable to have a vision for your wedding party--I've been in weddings where I've thought I looked rediculous, but that's what she wanted. When I initially was having a wedding party, I was looking at dresses to cover one of the potential bridesmaids tattoos, and knew they had to have hair down to cover another bridesmaids neck tattoo. It was just want I wanted to make them look uniform. It's your day... so make it that way :) Sorry about the dramatics at the bachelorette party. Hopefully the keep your head up... it'll all work out!!

Today at the bridal shower, my maid of honor didn't have any clue that I was so upset about the bailing on the bachelorette party and I didn't want to ruin the shower, so I didn't bring it up. I really wanted the girls hair up since I am having mine half up/half down (wanted mine to be different from theirs). I don't care if they are exactly the same (pinned up on top of the head, at the nape of the neck, etc, just that they are up). I guess it's just that I have my other bridesmaids saying that its my day and they would bend over backward to make me happy.

I really am lucky to have my matron of honor. She has helped out so much more than I could ever have hoped for and I love her for it! And while I love my maid of honor, I would like to smack her! She needs it :) She's drama so I'm sure there will be more drama with her before the wedding is over!

Thank you! Originally, for years, I wanted the girls in short dresses and my maid of honor planned to cover the ones on her ankles and her back. Now that my wedding is at night and I decided to go with the longer dresses because it seemed more formal, she's only having to cover one. Seems that would have made her at least a little happy!

Uniform--exactly! That's why I'm paying to have the girls hair and makeup done! Argh!

Thanks for understanding girls and making me feel better! Today was my bridal shower and it was SO MUCH FUN! No drama today at all (thank goodness) although I do have to admit that for the first ten minutes or so I was slightly pissy from the other night although I tried not to show it. But then once we walked up to the set up, it all went out the window. I can't wait to get all the pictures back (nope, didn't take pictures again :scared1:) so I can really tell all about it, but it was even better than I could have hoped! Hopefully I can post soon!

Loving the planning! Those were some truly beautiful engagment pictures in Epcot!

Just my two cents on the bridesmaid thing, from an old married lady. :goodvibes I've been in 5 or 6 weddings. I'm 36. At this point, if you wanted me to wear a bird on my head, I'd say "okay!" with a smile. But it is totally different if you are a young cute thing. My wedding was 12 years ago, and back then, I cared a lot more about what looked good on me, what was going on with me, etc. In the years since, I have helped a lot of brides in my family plan their weddings, and been in some, too. My ego is no longer involved. It's their wedding. I will wear a potato sack, dance to zydeco, whatever. It's not about me, and any choices or decisions anyone else makes has nothing to do with me.

I suspect your matron of honor knows this. But your other maid of honor and your friend, they are just not there. That's okay in a way. You have your day and have it all about you and love every second of it! :thumbsup2 (Oh, sorry, you and your fiance!) Then, one day, you can be the older cousin or sister or friend who helps out the bride. I LOVE  this role, personally! It's so much more fun to be part of weddings when I'm not worried about how it affects me.

I do see that in every family/friend group someone is just not there yet. We have all had it. The parent or sibling or bridesmaid that gets caught up in their ego and how your choices affect them. Just remember they are caught in something and one day, hopefully, they will mature and won't believe they were like that!

My matron of honor, my cousin who was married, and my one girlfriend were rocks to me! I tried my best to keep my mouth shut on all their decisions after!

Can't wait to see bach party and shower pictures!

Oh man I am so sorry for all the drama!!! I don't think you are being a bridezilla at all. I think your girls should wear their hair the way you want especially since you are paying for it. I am in the same situation(minus the drama) of the hair. I am having my hair half up and half down and would like all in the wedding party to have their hair up. I personally don't see the problem. I hope everything works itself out!!!

Thanks about the pictures. I loved them! And your input about the girls makes total sense! My matron of honor is completely self-less (is that a word) and is a people pleaser while my maid of honor is definitely all about her (and I love her, but she's definitely the least mature of the group). So thanks for putting it in that perspective!

Well, I'm still waiting for bridal shower and bachelorette party pics from my maid of honor. I got some from my mom, but my maid of honor is a photogropher on the side so I know she got some great pics.

Anyways, I've been thinking of trying to make a monogram but I am so technologically challenged. I tried paint and powerpoint, but yeah, could get anything I like. I just want a carriage and our initals, but am clueless how! Any ideas?

So sorry for your MOH drama, thats just crap! You are SO not a zilla and this girl just needs to shut up! She agreed to be your MOH, knowing full and well this is YOUR day and she basically does whatever YOU want her to...everyone knows this, its not something new. Seriously this girl is bugging me, she needs to get over it. I'm sure after the wedding she will realize just how dumb she's being. Or it may take her getting married to fully understand...but when she does she should feel like the biggest jerk in the world! Just pin your hair and cover your tattoos....its not rocket science! RAAAWWR I dont know how I would react in your situation, but Ithink youve handled it all very gracefully! Heres some pixie dust in hopes this all goes away and Bratty McBratterson gets her ducks in a row! :wizard:

On a brighter note, you are getting so close! I cant wait to see more and hear all about your amazing day!!

JTandDolly (from creative disigns) did my monogram, and I LOVE it. She's amazing!!! I've got her stuff all over my PJ if you wanna take a peek. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about the MOH drama, hopefully it will blow over. I made my own monogram, and I am not super great on computers either. I actually made mine in powerpoint, and we had our initials and a carriage as well, let me know if you want any help of pointers on making yours, or if you would like to see ours, I'd be happy yo help you out.
