For our entrance to the reception, we had the Electric Light Parade. I struggled to think of a song I wanted for this, but when the ELP popped into my head, I knew it was perfect!

Apparently my matron of honor and DH's best man decided to dance in

We went right into our first dance, which was Lost in This Moment by Big & Rich (this was soooo awkward! I honestly just wanted it to be over)

Then we went outside for pictures of the fireworks while our guests had their appetizers (this first one looks like the firework is coming out of my head)

They played Be Our Guest while the waiters/waitresses brought out the ice slipper sorbet. I kinda thought there might be slightly more of a production, but thats okay.

Awesome! I totally want Be Out Guest for when the food comes out....but we are having a buffet...I'm sure we'll figure it out! Also...I totally get what you mean with the first dance awkwardness....I hate the fact that people are either going to be staring at us during this private moment or they will be totally bored! I got this first dance DVD to hopefully learn some moves lol...

You could totally figure out a way to do it! I'm sure your pllaner has some ideas! DH and I took a couple of dance lessons before the wedding and they showed us some moves that worked with our song, but then I decided that I thought my dress would be too big for it to work, so we didn't do them. I hope my videographer got my MOH and BM's entrance on tape! I so want to see it! And as for the first dance, my bridesmaid got married about a month and half after us and I was in the wedding. She had a great idea. They danced alone for about half the song then had their wedding party join in. Why didn't I think of that??

Thanks! I am so glad we did them! We had to change the timing of our dances around last minute (was supposed to do the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance before dinner but we ran out of time and fireworks was high on my priority list!)

So after dinner we had our sand ceremony. Our matron of honor gave a little speech to tell the significance of the ceremony. And apparently I pour faster than DH...he was soo behind Oh and it doesn't look like it because of the flash, but it was dark in the room and I accidently got the gray and DH got the purple. Oops!

Then we had our toats. They gave us the wrong champagne. I had ordered Asti. It's the ONLY champagne that I like because it's so sweet. (and it also turned out to be the cheapest) Well, when they were pouring our guest's I told DH that our champagned should NOT be red. It turns out that it was Rose Regale, which most people like but I hate. Our wedding planner said the Asti shipment didn't get there but we weren't told in advance. We were just told that this was an upgrade in price, but we were getting it for free. Oh well.

Then we had the father/daughter dance. We danced to Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle.

Aw such a bummer about the champagne. I don't drink Champagne at all unless it's in mimosas! haha. I asked DF if I could just have a glass of captain and gingerale instead?? It'll kinda look like champagne?? ;D

So after the family dances, it was dancing time! (we also danced after the cake cutting and garter/bouquet toss, but I 'm gonna put all the dancing pics here)

So the Cha Cha Slide is one of the dances I requested to be played. And sure enough they played it...while I was in the dressing room and my matron of honor was helping me take my underskirt thingy off! Boo! I hated the skirt from the beginning. No matter how tight we tied it, it always slipped down. And it always hurt my back. So Jackie safety pinned it to my dress so it wouldn't slip down. And I couldn't wait to get the sucker off! We had double knotted it and my MOH couldn't undo it, so we had my skirt over my head and she was undoing the knot with her teeth. And DH"s mom walked in! That was a sight! She ended up helping us get it off! Anyways, here's a pic of DJ Steve teaching everyone the Cha Cha Slide

With one of our flower girls (looking back, I realize we don't have many pictures of our other flower girl. I think its because she suddenly had this "I'm too cool attitude" and wouldn't smile in any of the pictures

I had to get a picture of all the gators doing the gator chomp! (My immediate family and some friends are die-hard Gators. DH's family and other are not! I had specifically asked our DJ to play our fight song and the chomp and I got several weird looks, but I HAD to have it!)

Our real "song" is Faithfully by Journey, but I didn't think it made a good "first dance" so we used it for the anniversary dance. At least we got to dance to it for a little bit

My parents dancing during the anniversary dance (we had wanted to do this dance so my grandparents would "win" but they left early! Then it was just DH's aunt and uncle left and my parents left. They had both been married 38 years. DH's aunt and uncle's ann was in April or May and my parents is in June (after the wedding). Everyone said DH"s aunt and uncle won since their wedding came first so they had to give us advice, but really my parents won because they were about to hit their 39th anniversary in 11 days! Oh well! I didn't feel like saying anything.

We're obsessed with Journey so we had to have DJ Steve play Don't Stop Believing of course!

The anniversary dance is where all the married couples come dance on the floor. Then after a minute the Dj says something like "everyone who has been married a day, please leave the dance floor" (so the bride and groom leave) then "everyone married under a year please leave the dance floor", "everyone married under 5 years please leave the dance floor" and so on until you have one couple left.

So after dancing for a little while, it was cake cutting time. Cake cutting was supposed to be at 11:59 and I wondered why we were doing it so early. But when I checked the time, it was actually 12:15. The night was flying by!
DH and I had agreed to not smash the cake in each other's face. I don't like the idea and didn't want to ruin the dress and while DH is a prankster, he was fine with and kept his end of the deal. I however, did put a small dallop of frosting on his nose!

Thank goodness I had that bite because I didn't get to eat anymore of the cake. And a complaint I had about the night is that several of my guests said that right after the cake was served, a slow song came on, so they got up to dance and by the time it was over, the waiters had cleared the table and they hadn't gotten to try any of it!

Then we had the garter toss. First DH had to get it. He was expecting the Gator one and was surprised when it was the Broncos one. He asked if he had to throw it and could keep it instead!

But first he had a surprise for me! He had several pairs of Gator underwear hidden in his sleeve that he threw out! ( I had seen the package come earlier in the week and it was from "Gator panties" so I thought maybe he was surprising me with cutsie lingerie or something...not so much!)

So while the boys went out to catch the garter...I got stuck holding their drinks...classy bride!

Then it was my turn to throw the bouquet

My brother's girlfriend was the only one really trying to get it!

So then my cousin put the garter on her leg (we had told the DJ that if it seemed like an inappropriate matching to do not this part, but they were both outgoing the whole night, so we kept it)

Then of course, we had the photobooth the whole night. It was such a HUGE hit!

And a whole table crammed in at once!

And that was it! I couldn't believe it was over! There were so many people left, and we could easily have had the reception for another hour until 2:30am!
