Unfortunately, since no guests went with us for fireworks, I don't have any pictures, so I'll have to wait for the professional pictures.
When we went back in the ballroom, the guests were just finishing their appetizers, the crab cakes. Sooo good! Then out came the caesar salad. I had added the cheese crisps from Flying Fish cafe and asked for extras so they brought me some in a bowl. Which they then took away when I was up mingling with guests! Grr! If I had one complaint, it was about the service. They took away the food way too fast. I had a bunch of guests complain that they didn't get any cake because they cake was served and they got up to dance the anniversary dance and when they got back, the servers had cleared it! Same thing with the coffee. That didn't make me very happy. After the caesar salads, we had the sorbet course in the Cinderella slipper. They came out to Be Our Guest. Now, when I was told about this, it sound like it was almost a production number, but it wasn't at all. The servers just came out with the sorbet and thats it. After the raspberry champagne sorbet, the main entree came out. DH and I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly (during my PS, the steak was so well done and we like it medium rare so we were a little worried).
Here's our sorbet slipper. It was such a hit! You could take the little light out and it had a necklace attached to it so all the guests were wearing it. Such fun! (oh and cute little story. My 89 year old grandma got afraid during the night that it was going to catch on fire, so she flushed it down the toilet!)
After dinner we had the father/daughter dance. We danced to Butterfly Kisses. My tough, macho father has always teared up when he heard this song, so I knew that it would have to be the one we danced to
Then we had the mother/son danced. DH picked You'll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins
After that we had our sand ceremony. Our matron of honor gave a little speech beforehand. It was so dark that I couldn't distinguish between the colors. Turned out I poured the gray instead of the purple. And apparently I pour too fast. Oh well!
Then we had some dancing...I had told the DJ that I liked booty music and he could play that later. So we danced to things like "Baby Got Back" and "Tootsy Roll". Maybe not so wedding appropriate, but totally my thing and I loved it!
We also had a photobooth. It was supposed to be set up in the hall so the guests could use it during the cocktail hour but they set up in the room instead. I was a little upset because that was a waste of an hour I was paying for. My matron of honor took care of it and they stayed another hour. This was the biggest hit! Everyone loved it and there was always someone in it. There were lots of props and since there was two stips of the same pictures, they cut in half, gave one to the guests and glued one into a scrapbook which the guests then wrote messages in
My little ring bearer was the biggest fan! He took so many pictures in it, including popping up behind people! He popped up behind my grandparents! We died laughing when we saw this!
DH and his twin
That was one of my regrets though...that I didn't take more pictures with people. I only took it with DH, my little ring bearer (he was following me around when I was trying to get to all the tables asking me to take a picture with him..too cute..and don't ask what we're doing in the pictures..he told me to copy him), and my brother! I wish I had taken it with my parents, my bridesmaids, and my new sister-in-laws!
