And This is Why They Added DOORS to the TRAM! - Nov. 12 TR*END THOUGHTS 11/17 Pg. 27*

Tumble monkeys. Pat? You out there? ;)

:cool1: I think "my" monkey is on the far left. Do you remember what time the show was? That crew used to be the first 3 or so shows but they shuffled and I have been searching for them for a few trips now.

I believe the bird had no partner so she was grounded.

This is my favorite part of this whole show.

"We're Penguins.....we can't fly......AAAHHHHHH!"

That's my favorite part too!!! :rotfl2:

Glad Jeni was better after Happy go pukey.

I believe that it was the 11:30 show? I can't recall exactly, but it was somewhere around that time.

The penguins just crack me up!!!

All right friends. I'm going to try to wrap this TR up, because it is difficult to run as many as I have, and I have a trip coming up in January. I've already got 4 going, I'm not going to run 5! So this will be my last update, and the I'll do a recap and final thoughts.

We left off having just been a bunch of warthogs at FOTLK.

We decided at this point to go and get some early lunch. So we headed over to Restaurantasaurus, which is a favorite of ours.

Jeni got some crazy, insane hot dog.

It was like a nacho dog or something. She loved it. I'm a born and bred Chicagoan y'all, so I'm a hot dog purist. I don't go for loading all of this malarkey on my hot dogs.

I got my good old standby of the veggie sub.

It was yummy as always. But I'm still lamenting the fact that they don't serve this with sweet potato fries anymore. BRING BACK THE SWEET POTATO FRIES!!!

At this point, Jeni was against doing Dinosaur because she was unsure of how her stomach would react. So, we put off Dinosaur until we returned in July. If you can't do Dinosaur, where do you head?

We put on our bug eyes, and apparently, my hair was big. Dude.

Jeni likes this show a lot. The one time before that she went to Disney (and did a horrible job touring the parks), she took Gavin on this, and he basically cried like a little girl during the whole show. We love it when our littles do that. :lmao: My favorite part of going to this show is simply waiting until the last part when the bugs crawl under your butt. And then everyone screams and jumps like an idiot. Epicness.

We wanted to head over to Africa after this to wander around the Pangani Forest Trail. On the way, some snacks were calling our names.

This beauty.

And this beauty.

We opted for the divide and conquer method. So we cut them in half and then split them. We like this bang for your buck method. You get more variety that way. Sharing is caring people. Sharing is caring.

Now, they do not hold a candle to my red velvet beauty, but they'll do in a pinch. If you get the elephant cupcake, you better like coconut.

Thankfully, we were right next to our destination.

Jeni's favorite animal is a hippo. I have no idea why. She doesn't either, she just loves them. So when she saw this, she almost had an aneurysm.

So we waited for a while so that this lovely would get in the water so we could check him out.

And waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Apparently, this fish did not like the fact that we were standing by the tank and waiting, because he came by and gave me the staredown.

And Mr. Hippo was still just standing in the background eating away.

And I was still getting this.

All right dude, jeesh! I'll leave then! Don't need to be all rude and stuff.

I was fine leaving, because due to our moving forward, we go to see the most amazing thing ever.

Lily was out!

She was being so absolutely playful. She was running around acting completely ridiculous. In retrospect, I should have turned on my video, but I didn't have a clear shot, which is why some of my pictures aren't the greatest. At this point, she put her blanket on top of her head and started spinning around like a fool!

The hysterical thing about this entire exchange is that in the above photos, Lily was getting all up in her mommy's face. Trying to play with her, running back and forth. And I didn't get a picture or video of what occurred, but there was one point where mommy literally did this to Lily.

Just shoved that baby across the room. Like nobody's business. It was amazing!

Continued in next post:

After Lily basically got served by her Momma, I think she gave up on trying to act the fool under the blanket.

We moved on to see the other gorillas at this point.

Well those guys? They had a bit of a skirmish.

The one came from the other end of the forest area charging at the other one. I thought they were going to come to fisticuffs!

Jeni also thought that they were going to come to fisticuffs and promptly did this.

I thought she was going to run like the wind out of there! And she actually said the following words to me:

"I was afraid that they were going to come flying across the divide at me!"

Oh Jeni. We love you.

At that point, we decided it was time for us to say goodbye to the Animal Kingdom. We had some last minute shopping to do at DTD, so we headed that direction.

I don't have pictures of all of the gifts we got, but we essentially spent the remainder of the afternoon shopping and buying gifts for everyone back home. But before we left, of course we had to have dinner.

What a better way to send yourself home than to get Earl of Sandwich!

We did the "sharing is caring" method of eating again. We got a meatball sub, and a hawaiian barbecue and shared them.

I think we could make this a thing on the DIS. Sharing is caring when it comes to food.

After dinner, it was time for us to head to the airport. We were both worn out from the day, but we were also not ready to go home. Departure is always sad, isn't it?

On the car ride to the airport, Jeni shared with me that this trip exceeded all of the expectations that she had for it. She said it was so much fun and that she loved that it was just the two of us. No kids to worry about, no husband, no nothing.

I'll cover more on my recap of the trip, but this was also one of the best trips I've had too. Jeni and I mesh together so well, and I am certainly lucky to have a sister-in-law like her. I know it's not the norm for many, and I'm glad that it's the norm for me.

Our flight was uneventful. Nothing to report on that end. OH! Except the fact that you know you've landed in Chicago when....

Somebody got booted!!!! (It wasn't us, no worries).

Vinylmation wrap up anyone?

Up next: Highlights of the trip.

Wow, I don't know if it was a reflection or what, but in the second bug eyes photo, your eyes really DO look bug like.

The absolute best part of Bug's Life... watching and listening to everyone else. Pure entertainment that needs to be bottled somehow.

Excellent to have a Hippo sighting made only better by having a Supernatural gif!!

:rotfl2: I still can't get over that fish! Seriously one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

God I remember when Lily was just a newborn. :cutie:

What a nice end to a wonderful trip

It is great you both come home exhausted but agree it was a wonderful trip. ::yes::

So glad you didn't come home to a boot. :rotfl2:

I have been trying to get that monkey cupcake for YEARS. It looks so good!

That fish is creepy. Omg, why is it staring? Lilly must have been so fun to witness. She's too cute!

I know, I did look awfully buggish.

That's the entire reason to go see ITTBAB, isn't it? Just the screams and the terror. *sigh* It's like home.

That fish was hysterical. It was literally just floating there looking at me.

I remember when she was a newborn too. I can't believe how much time has passed already!

It was was a great trip. I couldn't have asked for anything else out of it.

I know! Thankfully, we didn't park our car, we were picked up, but I don't exaggerate that every time I fly out of O'Hare, at least 3 cars are booted in the lot we're parked in.

I have been trying to get that monkey cupcake for YEARS. It looks so good!

The cupcake is super yummy. Make sure you get one sometime.

I had no idea why the fish was staring. It was hilarious!

Great update! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Now you've coined two of my favorite Diser favorite phrases Dani. In addition to drunk lil cucumber I'm adding caring is sharing! Perfect!

What a great last day for your trip - between the EoS (the best sandwiches ever - just ask me what I ate tonight! Oh yeah, Earl in DTD! (Anaheim of course.) And of course the IT2BaB cockroaches that exit the theater at the end of the show for a little creepy moment to the adorable Lilly and her blankie. Again, so wonderful!

I've gotta admit that I'm likely living under a rock somewhere but I hadn't started reading your European TR until now. For shame I know. That's insane but in an amazing way to juggle FOUR TRs. I'm behind just doing a DR and TR. I need to learn from the Dani Master for sure!

Great wrap for this one. I joined late but I'm glad I did since I also discovered what the heck selling tee tee to strangers meant and am reading along with your Didneyrand TR!

I adore FOTLK so much. I think I've been in every section, not that I think of it.
Yes I could definitely see you as Dory!
Glad Jeni was feeling better!
Love that fish. I have some of those in my tank and they're really friendly! Lots of personality for a fish! ;)

OMG those cupcakes...especially the top one...yum!!!! :crazy2: I always forget there are cupcakes in Animal Kingdom...I'm gonna have to make a note of this...

Aww, Lilly looks like she was being so cute...I'm not a big gorilla fan, which is probably why I haven't seen her yet, but she does look adorable. I do kind of like the fact that her mom shoved her like that, though. :thumbsup2

Yum, Earl of Sandwich!! I haven't tried either of the sandwiches you guys got, but they look SO good! OMG I can't wait to go there again!

Glad you had such a great trip, and I'm looking forward to the highlights! :cool1:

I saw your tag on Facebook at EoS! I was definitely jealous.

It's not the easiest to juggle all of them. I fell behind on my Europe one the most because of my Grandma's illness and passing. But I juggle away! :rotfl:

I'm very glad that you joined, even if you joined late.

I feel like I've only ever been in the warthog section.

I'm glad that you know that those fish are friendly! He was so up in my face, like he was so curious about what was going on, it was awesome.

Definitely make sure you get one the next time you visit. So very yummy.

The entire Lily thing was hysterical. Jeni and I had to comment that the momma gorilla treated her exactly like we treat our littles. Get all up in my space and I'll shove you away.

Of both of the sandwiches, get the hawaiian barbecue. So so so good! The meatball was good too, but the hawaiian barbecue is my favorite.

Woohoo! Looks like I decided to catch up just in time for the end of this TR!

"Without This, Life Would Be Meaningless"
Eddie - Empire Records

Now, Eddie was talking about music in Empire Records. Which I also agree with, being an insane music lover. However, I think it's appropriate when it comes to Disney. Without Disney, my life would feel meaningless.

I think you guys agree. And no we don't have problems. Everyone else has problems for not understanding. ;)

Agree 100%!!

Animal Kingdom is one of my faves too! But ToT is my ultimate fave ride and you are a much better SiL than I would have been...I would have found a bench for her to wait!! :lmao:

If I had to start listing the fashion do's and don'ts, I believe this individual would be on many of my lists.......just.....no.

[/IMG]

I would never claim to be a fashionista but seriously! I often wonder what makes people look at clothing and think "Now THIS looks great!" :scared:

It sounds like a great last day, well aside from the pukey part but at least it wasn't on you! :thumbsup2

I figured that I would be nice and wait out on ToT for her. I'm there so much anyway, that I don't get too heartbroken if I miss a certain ride. :rotfl2:

Seriously, I ask myself that question all the time. What on EARTH were you thinking when you got dressed this morning? I'm all for a bit of character, but sometimes....just....no.

"So If You Guys Ever Wonder If It Was Nice To Know You, I Tell You Now That It Was."
Lucas - Empire Records

First and foremost my friends, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading along. I love the Disney community that we have here, and I appreciate all of my readers so much. Thanks for following along on my crazy adventures and putting up with my sarcasm. It's a regular occurrence, as you now notice.

I wanted to wrap this up with a highlights of the trip. I don't feel there were any lowlights, so I figure ending on a high note is good! I'm going to go sequentially throughout the trip, since that's certain easiest for me. :thumbsup2

1) Traveling with Jeni. This was so much fun for me, and this was our first time going on a trip together, just the two of us. I hope that we're able to do more in the future, but we are definitely working on our Princess 1/2 Marathon in February 2015!

2) Meeting Susan (jecskc). Susan was my first DISmeet on this trip, and it was great to meet her and her family. And to make silly faces with her.

3) Meeting Katt (Katt789). Katt was my second DISmeet for the trip. I am so looking forward to spending some of my trip next November with her and being a bunch of drunk little cucumbers.

4) Eating at Via Napoli for the first time. Holy cannoli everyone, it was so good, and I couldn't believe I had waited to eat there!

5) Being in Disney 30 pounds lighter than my prior trips (thankfully, it's at 40 pounds now). Seriously, it made such a difference. I'm still on my journey, but being there lighter than prior trips was just such an accomplishment for me. I had so much more energy than I ever did before, and my feet literally never hurt. I don't mean that they weren't tired, but they didn't hurt to the degree that they used to. A reminder to myself that I accomplished a lot.

6) Having a drunk little cucumber. Because you have to!

7) Getting to ride the Little Mermaid three times in one day. It was so much fun, and the fact that Jeni and I are both huge Little Mermaid goobers, it was just that much better.

8) Seeing Dumbotown and the rest of New Fantasyland. It's Dumbotown forever in my head now. Thanks Jeni!

9) Getting to kiss Naveen.

10) Having that kid in line at Space Mountain try to read this shirt I was wearing by literally getting right next to my chestal area. C'mon, it was pretty dang funny.

11) The fact that my hair glows in blacklight.

12) Seeing the castle dream lights again.

13) This dessert from Liberty Tree Tavern. Oh mah god....

14) Being the rebel spy!

15) And then being an Ewok.

16) FINALLY EATING A RED VELVET CUPCAKE!

17) Cogsworth being a Rockette and the Beast doing a hair flip.

18) Seeing baby Lily act the fool.

19) But again, having an amazing SIL, friend, and now a Disney convert to share this experience with this. Because she drank the water.

Thanks again to all my readers and friends. I'll see you on my many other TRs!

This was such a fun TR! I would be way more sad that it was ending if you didn't have another one going on, but since you do... yay! Haha anyways, it was awesome and I'm sure a lot of fun to relive that trip! :)
