And They Lived Happily Ever After - A June '11 Disneymoon TR! THE END - NEW PTR!

It looks like you had a wonderful evening! I think Epcot at night is very romantic :lovestruc

I'm glad you enjoyed San Angel Inn! I've never tried there, but it looks very good!

I'm glad you had such a great dinner at San Angel Inn!! Paradiso 37 would have been fun to try, too-- that menu looks delicious!

Glad that you had a god dinner. I've always loved San Angel Inn and I'm glad to see that the menu has changed a little bit too. Gonna have to go there in the near future I think.

They Americanized San Angel??? Oh Lord. I think that makes it even worse. Our one meal there was so bad we can't bring ourselves to go back. Our meal was cold and tastless but it wasn't Taco Bell :rotfl2:

OMG, those little ducklings are the cutest thing!! :cutie::cutie:
And that last picture of Spaceship Earth with the palm trees viewed from under is gorgeous! :wizard:

I'm glad that you were able to make that last minute ADR and that you enjoyed your meal so much.

great review!!! The one and only time I ate there it was pretty horrible. Our service was horrible and the food was not so good. My brother and mom ate there last Dec and really enjoyed it so of course I need to give it another shot!

I remember that rain that day, it delayed our flight for a little while but it did clear up :)

Nice that you gave SAI a chance even though most of the reviews are not so good. Glad that Miguel got the Mexican food he wanted!

It's not often I post here as I usually just like to read, but I had to post to say how great this report has been. Can't wait to hear more.

Great update!

I haven't ridden the Epcot monorail loop in years, but I'm staying at BLT in November and am really looking forward to finally doing so again!

Glad you enjoyed your dinner. I have a new-found obsession with guacamole so I am intrigued by the San Angel Inn..plus it just looks so cute and romantic!

YAY, I'm so glad you enjoyed SAI :goodvibes It is one of our favorite restaurants despite all the bad reviews. And, being from NM we like to think we know good Mexican food ;)

And love that you ended your night with a Mickey bar! Is it just me or do they taste about a thousand times better than a normal ice cream bar

I love those chicken tostadas. The San Angel Inn is one of our favorite restaurants at Disney.

The tostadas were wonderful! SAI is one of our favorites now, too. :thumbsup2

The Poly is so pretty, even in the rain! I love ducklings! :lovestruc Seriously, if I could capture one, I'd probably bring it home with me!

Wow, you're right, Epcot looked amazing that night, great pictures! AHHH I can't wait to be there in 11 days! Anyway, San Angel looks great, I really want to try it sometime, but it's one of those that I can never fit in!

There was something so pretty and peaceful about the lighting at Epcot that night. Ahh - wish I was there right now! :goodvibes

I love this picture you took in Epcot:

Something about the texture of it almost makes it look like it could be a painting! Glad you had a great dinner at San Angel! I haven't eaten there before, but I definitely want to since they changed the menu.

You can really tell they are trying to improve SAI. I would definitely recommend it now. :thumbsup2

I don't know how I missed the last three updates. I'm a TR slacker apparently!

I could really go for some of those Yak & Yeti wontons right about now, they would make a delicious breakfast. :rotfl2:

The little baby duckling picture is so freaking cute!

I love your last minute ADR, I think sometimes those meals turn out to be the best ones of the trip! My husband has been wanting to try San Angel, I will have to give it some thought.

I am sooo glad that we went for the last minute SAI ADR! As much as I love planning out meals out 180+ days in advance, sometimes you just don't know what you want to eat until it's time to eat! :lmao:

I am so glad you enjoyed the San Angel Inn! Its been a favorite of mine, since there is where we ate the night that DH propose. :lovestruc

I'm also loving your Poly pics! We are staying there in Dec, and I am so excited for direct monorail access.

Is you DH by any chance a jockey or work with horses? I saw that he was wearing a jockey club shirt in one of your pics.

Aww, how sweet that your DH proposed at SAI! It's such a pretty and romantic restaurant. He picked a great spot! :cloud9:

I agree - Epcot has a very romantic feel at night! :cloud9:

I'm glad you had such a great dinner at San Angel Inn!! Paradiso 37 would have been fun to try, too-- that menu looks delicious!

I really want to try Paradiso sometime! It's on my list for the future. :thumbsup2

LOVING all of your pictures! you are making me VERY hungry! lol

Hehe! Thanks! :goodvibes

Glad that you had a god dinner. I've always loved San Angel Inn and I'm glad to see that the menu has changed a little bit too. Gonna have to go there in the near future I think.

I think the improvements that they have made are great. I can't wait to go back! :goodvibes

Sounds like a great meal to me, I love guacamole :thumbsup2

The guacamole was very good! :thumbsup2

Well, not really. I just think that they've added some items that people who are used to the typical Americanized Mexican food would be willing to try. I would say the dishes are still pretty unique, but maybe more appealing now. :confused3

OMG, those little ducklings are the cutest thing!! :cutie::cutie:

We saw lots of cute animals at the Poly! Thank you! :goodvibes

I think they have really made some improvements. I hope you will give it another shot! :thumbsup2

Miguel was very happy! He can't go too long without some Mexican food! :lmao:

Thank you so much! I hope you will keep posting! :goodvibes

I love riding through Epcot on the monorail! It gets me so excited to get into the park. :goodvibes

I really hope some better reviews start coming out of SAI. I think it deserves more of a chance!

The Mickey bars are definitely better than regular ice cream bars!

DAY 5 – Pt. 1

Day 5 of our honeymoon was taking us back to the Magic Kingdom and we were so excited! I got up and got dressed and then I walked over to Captain Cooks while Miguel got ready. This became my little morning ritual and I so enjoyed it. What can I say, I love routines, even on vacation!

Since I had yet to try the famed Tonga Toast, I decided that I just had to try it for breakfast that morning. I know that people comment on how huge it is, but it seriously is huge. I couldn’t believe how tall it was!

Now, I love pastries, I love bananas, and I love things that are banana flavored. But – I didn’t like the Tonga Toast! In fact, I really, really disliked it. I’m not sure if it was just the piece I was given, but the bananas were brown and were somewhere between hard and mushy. I actually gagged while trying to eat it. I managed a few bites, and threw the rest away. The sausage wasn’t great either, unfortunately.

I think I would give Tonga Toast another try, but only if I was ordering it from Kona, where it would probably be a little bit fresher. I hated that I didn’t like the famous Tonga Toast, but I find that a lot of famed Disney foods aren’t for me. Oh well!

After my disappointing breakfast, I got the park bags restocked and we were ready to go! We made our way over to the monorail platform and only had to wait a few minutes for a train to show up.

Not surprisingly, we missed rope drop yet again and I still haven’t seen the opening show. I vow to do this one day! We still made it to the park early though, so we decided to take a few minutes and stop for some PP pictures with the new Let the Memories Begin signs. I must say, I love how these pictures look with our bright shirts! Yes – I planned it that way!

I loved these pictures, but for some reason the sun reflected off of Miguel’s shirt and made it look like he had a huge white spot right on the front of his shirt. Thankfully it’s nothing a cute banner couldn’t fix!

We made it in to the park, and of course, our first stop was Tomorrowland, just like always! I told you I like routine! Miguel headed over to the Space MountainFP machines and got us a set to use later in the day, and then we hoped in line for a stand-by ride.

When we reached the loading area, the CM there asked us if we would be willing to be split up to get another set of FPs. By split up, she meant have one of us in the back of one car and the other in the front of the other, so we really weren’t split up at all, we just wouldn’t get a picture together. For an extra set of FPs, we had no problem with that! This had never happened to us before, so we were very excited to be able to plan on two more rides on Space Mountain that day.

Next up, I decided to be a very nice wife and ask Miguel if he wanted to go on the Tomrrowland Speedway since the line was short and I knew he was dying to try it out. He enthusiastically said yes, and thankfully we only had to wait a few minutes before we got in our car.

Miguel took the drivers seat, and let me just say that it is a good thing that he drives better in real life than he does did on this attraction. I was actually worried that the CMs might kick us off of the track! There were 10 year olds that we driving far better than Miguel was!

By the time we made it back to the “pit”, my knuckles were white and I was more than ready to get off of the scariest ride of our trip so far! Miguel of course had a blast.

Since we had pretty much done everything that we wanted to do in Tomorrowland, we decided to head over to Frontierland and get a couple of FPs for Splash and ride Big Thunder. Along the way we stopped to admire the castle and take some pictures. I think the bridge from Tomorowland to the hub is one of the best spots for castle pictures!

A nice man noticed us taking pictures of each other and offered to take one of a the both of us.

We made it over to Frontierland and I ran down to get our Splash fast passes and then it was on to Big Thunder!

By this point, the heat was really starting to get to Miguel, so I suggested that we head over to Pirates since it is nice and cool in there. Miguel thought that was a great idea, so off we went! You can see how red my face is here. Thankfully this wasn’t from the sun burn, it was just because it was so hot!

Our ride on Priates did help to cool us down, but when I mentioned to Miguel that we could now get another FP for either Spash or Big Thunder, he had no interest in walking back to Frontierland. I found him a bench to rest on near the Adventureland bathrooms and I told him that I would run get the fast passes while he rested. He again agreed on my plan, so I took off for a few Big Thunder FPs. I am normally a complete wimp when it comes to heat, so I was very surprised at how well I was handling it. It really wasn’t bothering me, but poor Miguel wasn’t so lucky! I was also surprised at how well my feet were holding up. I have very flat feet that tend to get sore pretty easily and we’ve had many a trip where I miserable after a few hours, but this trip my feet had yet to hurt and we were already on our fifth day! I was very proud of myself!

When I made it back to Frontierland I still had a few minutes before our FP window opened up, so I popped into the Briar Patch store to pick up a bottled water for Miguel.

Then I headed over to the BTMRR FP area, got our tickets, and went off to find Miguel…

I clearly watch waaaay too much today because with that ending, I completely thought that Miguel was going to be missing when you got back with his water :rotfl2:

I never get the appeal of Tonga Toast either. Or Dole Whips. And yet with both, I like all the ingredients in them.

Love the PP pics at the beginning. You are right, the color does make them. Do you know that in all our trips to MK on this trip, we didn't see PP photographers out in front of the train station ONCE? It was really weird. I thought they had gotten rid of them until i saw your pics.

I'm sorry you didn't like Tonga Toast. If you didn't like it at Captain Cooks, I don't think you'll like it at Kona either. The bananas do get a little brown, because they are cooked, and they are usually pretty mushy. I've had the Tonga Toast both places and they are virtually identical. Well the good thing is that now when you go back to Kona for breakfast, you won't have to worry about deciding between the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes and the Tonga toast.

I love the picture you took of the BTMRR with the cactus. It is very artistic!

I hope that Miguel feels OK!

Great update! While I love Tonga Toast, I can totally see why it doesn't appeal to everyone. Definitely give it a try at Kona someday, though!

Congrats on managing well with the heat. I find myself getting quite miserable when it gets too hot...I just have to keep reminding myself that it's better to be hot at Disney than hot at home : )

That Tonga Toast looks amazing..haha I never had it. Love Space mountain. It is my all time favorite ride. I am not a huge fan of the racing cars either and will only go on them if there is a very short line. It is always packed for some reason and I don't waste any time waiting on line for that ride.
