Dani - my parents got us a Vitamix last year for Christmas. I was shocked. We had fallen in love with it when we saw it at the state fair. I thought it would be a great way to eat better. I was saving up my bonus "gift cards" from work to get one. But they surprised us. I love it. The smoothies are amazing. I've also made some good soups. It's a great way to use up produce. In fact, I need to make smoothies for breakfast today. I have a great crepe recipe for crepes too. How can we find each other on Pinterest? I want to see what you have found!

This is my Pinterest

I got my coconut oil in the mail today. I researched it and found this company to be AWESOME and they use glass jars instead of plastic, so no BPA contamination. I had my first green smoothie this morning and it was AWESOME! There are a couple of Yahoo! groups for Vitamix users to share tips and recipes. The woman who runs one of the groups is an independent demonstrator and she is super friendly and really helpful. If you want the links to the groups just let me know. :goodvibes

I made one of my pinned recipes tonight. It was the caprese chicken. Is is phenomenal! I added some fresh mozzarella at the end for some healthy fat. It really came out tasty.

Good morning, ladies! :goodvibes

Kook: Your morning coffee toast now has me humming the Mission Impossible theme! :rotfl:

Jen: I'm so glad the girls had a blast yesterday! :goodvibes How's DD4 today?

MM: Awwww, that Perry shirt is so CUTE! Have you guys done Biergarten before .... if so, what eats did you guys like best? :hyper:

Lacey: :rotfl2: I can just imagine the eye-rolling! I would've done the same thing. You know, we keep talking about the APs but the fact that we haven't bought them yet. :confused3 I think getting that last trip in is and having to plan so far in advance is what's keeping us from pulling the trigger ... though we've decided we kinda want to do it. :rolleyes2

Melissa: I am drooling over those cinnamon rolls. Oh my. :lovestruc

"Bees" Ladies: (Dani, I seriously love that... "bees" :goodvibes ) :worship: to you ladies who pumped! I did "straight from the tap" (LOL again, Dani!) for two years with Miss M; she didn't want any part of a bottle. :faint:

I really, honestly think my Lily will have me coming up to her kindergarten classroom for some "bees" time while the other kids are having snacks. At least it's healthy! The only "cow's milk" she has is with cereal, but I'm going to switch her to almond milk. And I'm going to make the milk at home in my vitamix! My parents are SO over this Vitamix already. :lmao: Since I am off tomorrow I will be whipping up fresh butter, mayo, and salad dressings.

So how's this for planning .... I can't book my Nov 2013 DVC stay for another couple of months so I think what I'll do is book a Universal stay for Oct 2014! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Going to try to catch up a bit while I am making dinner! Been tenderloin roast and lobster tails tonight, YUMMY!!!!!

Candace - you know you dont have to ask me twice about Happy Hour :lmao: I'll probably open a bottle wine with dinner tonight. Oh, thanks, I just downloaded the Monsters Inc app :thumbsup2 You know we sleep in and get a late start too...it is what works for my family. Oh and the cards and complaints are about MIL not my mom, thank goodness! Thankfully my mom is a sane loving person :goodvibes

Linda - I think planning your 2014 Universal trip is a great way to pass the time until you can book your 2013 Disney trip :rotfl: What did you decide about the resort for Universal?

Lacey - why split the adult trip? What is the draw with Swan and Dolphin? I priced it out once and with the extra resort fees (and parking for us) it really was not that much of a savings over a WDW property.

KOOK - hope you and DD had a good day volunteering. I always feel so good after I help others, love that warm fuzzy feeling :goodvibes

Wookie - I was a pumper too, DS20 was in NICU, so my only option, then DS9 was so tiny and like you I was soooooo large it just didn't work. Then DD just had no interest in latching, EVER.....so pumped I did.

Dani - we switched to stevia long ago, before it was mainstream and I agree like the artificial sweeteners, less is more. I think maybe a mix of honey and stevia will help with the aftertaste. I cant wait to go through your pins and find some more yummy recipes ::yes:: Hope work wasn't too bad today.

Okay time to get back to dinner, hope everyone is having a great day!

Hugs to everyone :grouphug:

Melissa

Dinner at your place sounds awesome!

I used to use agave nectar until I stumbled upon an article pointing out that the nectar is basically glorified high fructose corn syrup. I gave it up after that. It was very enlightening. I also read a very fascinating article about weight loss and toxins. It basically said that people who have a hard time losing weigh/gain very quickly and do NOT have a thyroid issue can usually attribute their weight issues to their body using fat cells as storage for toxins. Instead of releasing the toxins into the bloodstream, the body clings to fat cells and encapsulates the toxins in them. I don't know how much of it is true, but it is an interesting theory.

Candace I have pinned some very interesting cocktail and sangria recipes. I can't wait to make them when it gets warmer!

Okay I am off to clean up dinner and make the kids some "dessert." (They're having smoothies. ;))

One of DH's favorite things is sweet potato fries (obviously homemade) with coconut oil on them. He loves his coconut oil! He found that extra virgin cold pressed unrefined is the best.

That's what I like as well. If you're interested the place I got it from is Tropical Traditions. They have a blog full of coconut recipes as well!

Let happy hour commence! Though, I'm not sure how long this will last....both girls were not feeling well and are in bed already (way early for them)...:sad2:

I haven't decided on a Universal Hotel yet. I've been spending a lot of time on their Dis threads. From what the "experts" have been saying it doesn't really look like I'll need the express pass since I'm going in a slower time. I think I may just book the new moderate hotel especially if you can pool hop to the other hotels. I've also been looking at Universal APs .... wow so much cheaper! And they let you make monthly payments! :thumbsup2 Might as well book something cuz I can always change .... right? :rotfl2:

Yes, you can always CHANGE :rotfl: When is the new resort expected to open? Hopefully there will be more feedback well before you go! For us the Universal AP's are that much less than WDW :p and we can pay both monthly but for whatever reason, DH likes to pay them in full :confused3

Oh no, why did you mention that?! :lmao: I just went to look. Holy SCHMOLEY! :scared1: Between you and Pas and Janet! :rotfl2::rotfl:

:scratchin

Happy Hour Chicas: Will stop by later. :thumbsup2

The new hotel is suppose to open sometime in 2014. When I've been on the website it is allowing me to book for May 2014 .... I didn't check for any earlier in the year. I think I may book for Oct 2014 and then wait and see exactly what perks are offered ... pool hopping, express front of the line and early entry .... but for $108 per night for the days I want to go sounds like a deal to me. The regular hotel rooms are 300 sq ft .... in Disney terms is that between the size of POP and POR?

That is a PHENOMENAL rate!! I don't remember the exact amount but I know we paid A LOT more than that for PBH when we stayed there. 300 sq. ft. really isn't bad either!

And look at the price of the family suites .... amazing! When you were there did you feel that you really needed the front of the line? What month were you there?

I haven't and I heard that a whole lot more new stuff is going in the next couple of years. :thumbsup2

If all the expansion rumors are true HP will expand to US by a Hogwarts Express! I also read that the Simpsons ride area is being expanded to a Springfield themed area, which will be fun! The kids are already asking to go back to US/IoA now that we have done WDW so much. It will be exciting to see what happens with the rumors ::yes::

My drink of choice tonight will be Stella.....and she will be enjoyed soon! :upsidedow

Oh, and ok....your MIL.....didn't mean to confuse her....either way, sorry you have to deal with her. :scared:

Your dinner sounds amazing BTW, you should post some food porn!

I forgot to comment on the mom/MIL issue, I guess happy hour got in the way :p I have to say MIL is on a different planet and the things she says and does are incomprehensible. But thankfully I can say she did NOT raise DH, his grandparents did. He always kept in touch with her though, so she is part of our lives :rolleyes2

Hi Ladies....All this talk about healthy eating is really inspiring. :thumbsup2 So much so that I am even more ill about how much overeating we did today at my parents for dinner! My mom pushes more and more food on us like crazy!! It was my favorite, honey garlic and sweet and sour ribs with rice and broccoli though. I can say no to her but DH just kept at it...I was like :faint:! And then strawberry shortcake for dessert!!:faint::faint:

Anyhoo, I love them though. :lovestruc

Nothing new to report over here...talked to a co-worker of mine today who had a stay at POR, and loved it, so that made me feel really good about Nov.

Possibly joining in on Happy Hour...:tiptoe:

Thar she blows...

Cheers, my pals. :goodvibes

(I need to switch to wine.)

Jen: Will send you a reply tomorrow! (Worried I might typo at this point. ) Absolutely love that idea.

Good food is good food, and you shouldn't feel guilty! My drawn butter with my lobster was scrumptious ;)

LMAO! DH had one glass of wine with dinner, and well the bottle is empty ;) I am thinking it was spread out over enough hours that I am safe that I am sage to mix tonight :)

Sorry my day got away from me again ;) I'll catch up latter for sure!

Lacey - regular flour now gets replaced with some combination of rice flour, millet flour, sorghum flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, and xantham gum. Depends on the recipe.

I don't know what happened to my post! It started with - look's great Melissa! And then, what did you use for flour. So sorry if that sounded rude without the first sentence! They did look scrumptious!

We want to possibly do the Food and Wine Classic at the S/D. The package rate is stellar. So if we do that, it will be nice to stumble to the room afterwards. Unlike F&W, this one is all you can eat and drink.

Oops, it's all gone already ;) 8 lobster tails and most of the beef tenderloin is gone....everyone has full bellies :) And to top it off we opened a bottle of Lust Zinfandel!!!!

This is her website.

And here are Group 1 and Group 2. I also ordered a dry container from Lea Ann. She was able to give it to me for $100 with free shipping and included the spatula set. I got a really awesome dual sided one from Amazon though and it totally rocks.
