UGH....just back from the hospital. DD4 had her swimming lessons this morning and while doing a jump into the pool, she decided to turn back towards the edge. Not like her at all, she really is a good swimmer normally. Anyhoo...she banged her chin off the wall, and ended up needing 4 stitches.:sad2:

Mommy was :faint: literally, but held it together. DD8 who was home sick today was all:sad:, DH was  us all, and my parents who came down to help out by taking DD8 home while we were at the hospital were all :scared:.

Turned out fine though, no tears from my toughie princess: the DR. was great and it was all over lickety split. It was one of those moments when I wanted to tell her about our next Disney trip. :rolleyes1

So that is all, just thought I would share out drama!;)

Hope you are all having a good day!!!:hippie:

Awww, poor DD and poor mama :sad1:! I'm glad she did so well, what a brave girl! I bet mommy could use a glass of wine later

Omg I would have been like :faint: too. She's tougher than I am, I would have been crying so much, the doctor would have no knock me out to put the stitches in. Hopefully no more drama for you and she heals super quick.

Thank you...I am the biggest wuss too. My holding it together was all a show!

Awww, poor DD and poor mama :sad1:! I'm glad she did so well, what a brave girl! I bet mommy could use a glass of wine later

Sadly now I have to go to work!!! Ah well, it could've been a lot worse had she hit the jawbone instead of under her chin. Wine later...::yes::

miss, I remember my DD's being in the Daisy Scouts. Soooo cute! Tell Miss M, I am good for some cookies!!!! I will even pay shipping :)

I know I am forgetting a lot of people, sorry, so much to do before tomorrow.

 I'm sending you extra-strength pixiedust: and :goodvibes for tomorrow. Let us know how things go.

You're safe on long-distance cookies until at least next year! (The troop leader decided they'd hold off until they were a bit older. Phew! Although, this means I'll have to procure Thin Mints elsewhere. :scratchin

:
When the DH work for the IT department for CitiFinacial, he had to go to Chicago for a month when they changed to new software. He fell in love with the Chicago stuffed pizzas. When a pizza place opened up in our town in TX that was had Chicago stuffed pizzas he was so happy. The family had moved from Chicago, but it didn't last long b/c the service sucked. Then another "Chicago style" pizza place moved in & the owners claimed to have lived on the south side of Chicago their entire lives, but we're clueless on what a stuffed pizza was. Even after we describe it in detail, they looked at me like I had two heads. On favorite pizza place right now is a family owned place that the family moved from New Jersey to North Texas to get away from the Jersey winters. Their pizza is amazing!! David found a Rosati's while he was driving around for work. He just hates to try it and it not be a true Chicago-style stuffed pie. Especially since it's like a 30 drive from our house.

I just looked at their menu and it says they serve stuffed so you might be in luck with Rosati's. He's a brave man, your DH.

Oooooooh NO! Poor DD! Give her some hugs from Miss M and I... and some for you, too. Yikes. I can only imagine how awful it looked. :scared: She's a tough cookie!

Oh Jenny, so sorry to hear about the swimming mishap. My little friend is a brave little girl. Poor Mommy though, good for you for holding it together. Having a glass of wine later sounds like a good plan.

Your DD is braver at 4 than I am at 24! Glad she's okay and props to you for keeping it together! (and you so deserve that drink tonight. ;-) )

Today is my last day of classes and it's also only 27 days until my Disney trip and even less until Christmas! Do you think my professors will accept a note from you guys saying I'm suffering from Disney induced amnesia and can't take my finals?

I have a feeling that these boards are going to be my go-to procrastination tool for the next two weeks. Get ready. :-)

Sarah sending you lots of extra well wishes and hugs! No need to look for Janet and me at WDW ..... we know where to find you!!! :thumbsup2

Jen so sorry about you DD ... glad she is okay. Stay strong mama there will be many more accidents .... sorry for the bad news .... but just my experience .... also the kiddos always make it thru better than mama!

wookie do you by any chance have instructions for the mickey head scarf you made? If so, maybe you could pm them to me or pm me and I'll send you my email.

Quiet afternoon today .... just sitting on the couch addressing Christmas cards for my DL Diva group. Only about 20 of us signed up for the exchange so that isn't too much to do. As of now there are 70 ladies signed up for the Diva trip!!! I'm very shy .... not sure how I'll handle this .... (worried look on my face)

Have a good afternoon/evening ladies!

Before leaving for the day, though I'd check in with my peeps :)

Jenny: So thankful your DD is okay and weathered it like a trooper! And you may have been shaking on the inside, but sure your DD saw the brave momma at her side. Wine is definitely in order later!! :goodvibes

I grew up with a guy that his parents named him Paul Michael on purpose so he initials would be PMS.

Wookie: My son is a Paul Michael. :goodvibes

DH and I need to get in better shape. He had the lap band surgery several years ago. He was getting close to 500 lbs and the doctor told us he had 3 options. 1. Have lapband 2. Have gastric bypass 3. Have a widow maker of a heart attack before he was 40, but he wouldn't know he had one b/c he would be dead before he hit the ground. He did good, for a while. Then he stopped getting fills, b/c they hurt too much and he pushes to eat more. He's back up to 450-ish, I would guess. I don't care about him looking like Channing Tatum, I just want him healthy and breathing.

And he needs to be there for you and the boys!! Start slow and build up to it... you can do it together!!

Thanks!! I am taking mine slow. Like only 1 class every 8 weeks. When we get back from WDW in June 2013, I'll start taking 2 class every 8 weeks. I am a little over half done now.

Slow and easy gets there in the end. :thumbsup2

Janet - Too funny that Sam wants glasses. I'll bet she would rock a nice faux pair just for fun! ::yes::

A good idea!! :thumbsup2 (Oh but she's talking about green tinted contacts, like Niall (from One Direction... )

Janet:  I'm with Sam. I always wanted glasses when I was younger... unfortunately, my wish came true with a vengeance! :3dglasses

Yes, the be careful what you wish for saying!! Me, I never thought about it and got glasses and braces the same year ...horrors!!

AND, I will find you and Janet at WDW no matter where you end up. Obviously I would love to see you two at WL, but I suspect we won't know until you arrive. A true RCer, 3 reservations for resorts at once! :rotfl2:

Janet, lot's of things on your plate next week. I will be in touch and sending you lot's of

Sarah, as Linda says, we WILL find you!! :cool1: The best to you tomorrow my friend, send you an email. Hugs appreciated!

And remember you also have a thin mints source in PA to tide you over .... :)

I have a feeling that these boards are going to be my go-to procrastination tool for the next two weeks. Get ready. :-)

We will be here! AKL will ROCK!! :dance3:

Hi RC Buddies! I am still getting caught up from our trips. Maybe my list of to-do's will get shorter one of these days! :rotfl:

JC-Thinking of you and sending get well wishes to you for tomorrow. :goodvibes Won't be long till you are relaxing in that beautiful lodge! :cloud9:

I Heart-Sure hope the school works with you and gets this properly resolved. Hang in there. We are here for you! :thumbsup2
And on a lighter note, your comment about the teacher's give a darn being broken made me think of a Jo Dee Messina song from a few years back..

Missout, We love girl school cookies. Congrats to Miss M on becoming a Daisy! :yay:

Lettinthewookie-You have amazing knitting skills! I enjoy seeing your projects.:cool1:

Jenny- Oh dear! I hope your dd's chin heals soon. princess: What a day! Hope you get to put your feet up and relax later. :flower3:

Bandits Mommy-Not sure if professors take notes from invisible friends. :rotfl:
Sending you good luck wishes as you take your finals.

GG-A very happy belated birthday to you! :dance3: Your Disney Diva trip sounds like lots of fun. I'm shy too, I understand. When meeting new folks, especially, I just have to remind myself I will be glad I went, and then go. If I think too much I lose my nerve. :)

Janet- I don't have a thin mint source here. Keep me in mind when cookie time comes. :cool1:

Waving hi to RC friends I missed.

Wookie - Love your plan CR TPV will be awesome! :cool1:
Thank you. I had it booked for a May trip in 2009 that we ended up having to cancel.

Thank you so much for your advice and words of encouragement regarding DS. :grouphug: It is so nice to have such an amazing support group. You are the best!! ::yes::

So, I followed your advice and went down to the school this morning. Apparently, I got blown off because the principal has some big meeting today that she was preparing for. She had forwarded the matter to the teacher and trusted it would be handled. She will not be at the school today at all. :crazy2:

The assistant principal offered to call the principal of the Intermediate school over (it's right next door) to speak with me and the kids today but I declined. I'd rather our principal handle it as she knows and adores my DS and knows the other kid's history too (he has been suspended for violence before)

I did pull out our school's Code of Conduct and it does say acts of violence will result in an automatic suspension with possible expulsion. I will accept no less with this kid. I also think the teacher needs her head examined. She's retiring this year so I think her give a darn is broken. :rolleyes2

Anyway, I'll keep you updated as I get more info. Oh, quick question. Does anybody think I should have the other school's principal called in? Does it look like I don't care if I wait one more day to get results? If so, I'll go back up there this afternoon.

Personally, unless they were about to start going to the other school, I wouldn't bring the other principal into it yet. Are they in the same classes, where they could move this other child out of them and put him in different classes, lunch periods, or recesses so they are not around your child as much. If it's possible, it would be good to have any teachers that have been present any time it happened to be at the meeting.

When I see the the abbreviations BS or SOB the first thing that pops into my mind is "blood sugar" and "shortness of breath". I guess I've been a nurse too long. I forgot about the double meaning.

When the boys had to have their physicals to play football this year, I put that the youngest had petite mal seizures and mild ASD. I knew something was wrong when they doctor was asking me just how small the hole was. I was like huh? What do you mean hole. She was like, "well you put he has mild ASD". Me, "umm yeah, mild Autism Spectrum Disorder." My mild is goo right now, so I can't remember what she thought it was, but it was something to do with having a hole in your heart.

I just looked at their menu and it says they serve stuffed so you might be in luck with Rosati's. He's a brave man, your DH.

Oh, I was the one that explained in detail what a stuffed pizza was. The DH was just standing next to me. The guy really ticked me off that he acted like I was crazy. All they had was deep dish. If I wanted deep dish, I could call up Pizza Hut and get one for $10.

You and me both. :eek::scared::faint:

When the oldest DS was 5 he got really sick. He would still run around and play, he just sounded like a barking seal among other things. When they did an X-ray on his chest, they said he had double pneumonia and was going to hospitalize him. They said as bad as he was, he should be very lethargic. They tried to put an IV in his wrist (I think) and missed and it bled a lot. I almost passed out. They seriously asked me to leave.

Get ready. :-)

I can try if you want. Maybe if I bride them with a home-made lasagna and my uber yummy orange cookies.

wookie do you by any chance have instructions for the mickey head scarf you made? If so, maybe you could pm them to me or pm me and I'll send you my email.

I do, but it's for a double knitted scarf, which might not make any sense to anyone but me. It'll take me a few minutes to adjust it for regular knitting. I'll PM you tomorrow when I get a chance to get it done.

I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Wookie: My son is a Paul Michael. :goodvibes

Our youngest son is John Michael (like the two brothers in Peter Pan). Our oldest DS's first name is Joseph and the DH wanted a Biblical name that started with a 'J' for our youngest, so that is why his first name is John. For the Michael, my mom always wanted a son named Michael. My older (and only brother) is named after my dad, then my parent's had me. My mom was sure she was a boy after me, but then she had my sister. They stopped at 3. I chose Michael for his middle name b/c of my mom, which is why I call him John Michael most of the time. When I told her why that was his middle name she was like, "well it does no good to name him that. It's his middle name, no one will ever use it." So, I use it.

Lettinthewookie-You have amazing knitting skills! I enjoy seeing your projects.:cool1:
Thank you, I truly love doing it. The next one I make is going to be in the colors of the MH scarf. It will be a striped hat.

Wookie: That hat is so pretty! Love the colour. Can't tell from the pic, but is it a soft, fuzzy yarn? Kinda looks that way.

I meant to post about this, but I keep brain farting and not.
Thank you. I loved that color. John Michael picked it out for me to make him a scarf. It is soft yarn. I won't use anything that isn't. I have some that is a multi-color yarn that I love the colors, but I refuse to use it. It's a lot more coarse that the soft yarn and after a while it bugs my fingers.

There was more hurting (nipple twisting????) and threats today. My poor boy came off the bus in tears saying he would never tell again because it only makes things worse. I of course told him he absolutely did the right thing by telling and that the ONLY way to make it stop is to tell each.and.every.time.

I called the school as soon as I got in from the bus stop but nobody answered so I left a message. I promised my little guy that I will not give up until this kid stops or gets kicked out and I mean it.

If the principal doesn't do the right thing tomorrow I guess the next step is the superintendent.

I'm drinking wine tonight. A rarity for me when I'm not on vacay. I have to admit, it's helping calm my anger. Maybe I'll have two.

wookie - The principal next door is for 5th and 6th grade and DS8 is only in 2nd so he won't be over there for a few years. I still feel like a piece of poop for waiting though.

Jenny - How's your DD feeling? I hope she's not too sore. :goodvibes

Jungle Cruiser - more good thoughts for tomorrow

I hope you are keeping written records of all of this. Not just of what the other child did but who you talked to at the school. Talk to the principal in the morning. When my DD was in high school a boy hurt her while they were both in the classroom and I talked to the assistant principal about what happened ... hinting that if it ever happened again I would hold the school responsible since they knew about the situation. Now I will say the school took my complaint very seriously. They had a meeting with the boy and his parents. The parents were great and NOT happy about what their son did. So everything worked out. So go in there .... be calm but firm.

Thank you so much for your advice. I am keeping detailed notes on everything. I have always liked and respected the school's administration so I have hope that the issue will be resolved tomorrow.

I'm sorry your DD experienced that in HS :flower3:

Your being way to hard on yourself. I think you are doing a perfect job with the situation. Just stay calm, and keep talking until someone does something about it.

Okay....nipple twisting??? This is freaking ridiculous. How did the bully know your son had told you? Stick to your guns, I don't know how you can contain yourself but hang in there and give them heck tomorrow.

DD4 just woke up crying saying her chin was really hurting. To be expected I guess. We gave her some Tylenol and she's gone back to sleep.

Thanks everyone for caring, you are a special group of ladies.

Our best wishes go out to our Pioneer Girl Sarah Jungle Cruiser today - we're all thinking of you:grouphug:

Trying to catch up here...

jen Poor DD!!! That must have been horrifying to watch!
I'm glad it wasn't worse. I hope she is feeling better soon and heals quickly!

ihtm I hope the admin takes you seriously and does something about this kid. I feel so bad for your son, I am glad he's telling you what's going on though.

sarah good luck today. Hope you are feeling better soon!!

jeanette YC CL :banana::banana:
I haven't heard back about my raise yet (our director actually went home early yesterday with that vomiting bug I had last week...not pretty! :scared: ) But, depending on what he comes back with, I may be YC CL too!

I'm up bright and early...had my annual physical yesterday and have to go and get my bloodwork today, so I'm gonna do it early, before work and get it over with. I hate needles and the last time bloodwork was ordered I avoided it for 6 months! :rotfl2: I'll be a good girl this time and go get it done and over with.
