And the Results are In!!

WOOO HOOO!!! I just had to share the results from my cholesterol testing today.

As of April 12, 2003, my doctor allowed me to stop taking my Zocor (cholesterol medication) for 3 months to see if *I* was making things better myself. Today I went to get retested (I wanted to do it *before* our WDW trip >wink<) and I got the results already.

Here you go!
4/12/2003 w/10 mg Zocor
Total: 138
Triglycerides: 112
HDL (good stuff): 50
LDL (bad stuff): 66

7/08/03 w/o meds
Total: 184
Triglycerides: 110
HDL: 54
LDL: 108

{I should note that before I went on Zocor, my total cholesterol number was 223. I wish I could find my other without medication numbers. I just might call back and get them! >smile<}

EEK! I decided to call the office so I am adding my STARTING STARTING numbers....

Total: 255
Triglycerides: 231
HDL: 53
LDL: 156 (Aren't those some scary numbers?!?!)

Needless to say, I am thrilled!! I know the numbers aren't perfect but they are a drastic improvement!!! I have earned another 3 months without Zocor and I hope to get those numbers even lower as I lose more weight!!! >big grin<

Oh my gosh, you are going on a trip in just a few days too! WOO-HOO!!!! What great news to get right before your vacation!!! One less thing to pack (ha ha!) Those numbers look awesome! I keep trying to convince my Mom to eat healthier so she can get off her cholesterol meds, but I know that she has to want to do it herself. GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only are you losing weight, but you are getting HEALTHY and helping your body stay fit and keep you strong! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!

Wow look at your great numbers! I just had a free testing done at the Nascar Race Viagra tent!LOL I got mixed results i would have done excellent except for my HDL was really LOW. So i avg just outta range with all my numbers. I'm gonna work on it though. I'm so proud for you Terry you are so much healthy now and med free to boot!

Just more solid evidence that you're doing a great thing for your health and your body.

Your starting numbers are pretty close to mine, but I'm not on meds. Now I'm excited about that next checkup- it would be awfully nice to see numbers like yours!

Great news!!! I am going for that next week, a complete CVC, all kinds of tests including thyroid and liver ultrasound...all for a yearly physical, plus a diabetes test....not fun but I hope everything comes back good.
Congratulations, I remember last year when the doctor told me my total cholesterol was 153, I left that office a happy camper!
