And the Rain, Rain, Rain Came Down, Down Down - or Oy, Fay! Updated 10/1. The End.

I just started reading your report. I am up to Chef Mickey's. Your boys are so cute and look like they are having fun. It seems Fay did give some advantages. We were there the week before and the lines were long. Thanks for the report.

I finished reading what you have posted. I am really enjoying your report. The Jedi training video was good. Getting on Toy Story was great. We tried the week before the fp's were gone and single rider was 90 mins. Next time...:goodvibes

Hi, thanks so much for reading! I'm sorry you missed TSM. :goodvibes

Just a quick Hi!!
And a shameless plug for my PTR on the PTR board!!

Hi, Rosie. I know, I need to start a few new PTRs. :)

We had the alarm set for 7:00, no matter what we were doing. I got dressed quickly and turned on the TV to see the weather and the Disney info channel. For the first time in the week, even with all the rain, thunderstorms were forecast in the afternoon. :headache: So, we quickly decided to go to AK instead.

D & I got the boys up and having breakfast in the room. I texted V & T to let them know where we were heading. T was scheduled to go to AK anyway, and V responded that they’d decided on AK, too. We talked about letting Jo know we were abandoning TL, and we were all off for AK. :thumbsup2

We got to AK right around 9:00. I headed off to get EE FPs, whilst D & the boys went to the Safari. I thought we were still early for rope drop, but I never encountered a rope, so I guess not.

When I got to the FP machine, there was NO one there, and the return was maybe 9:45 or so. A guy at the next machine commented that he’d entered the gates right behind me, but I beat him there so badly – so what a fast walker I must be! :confused3

D & the boys had encountered a very short line as well, so they were waiting outside the queue for me at Kilimanjaro. We got in line, and walked straight on through to the loading area, but then came to a dead standstill – oddly, right behind the guy talking about my walking speed. And we stood, and we stood.

The PA came on with a story about stampeding something or ‘nothers, but the CM getting the “party count” told us that a tree was down across the trails. They had to get a crane out to move it.

It wasn’t too long though – maybe 15 minutes – only at Disney would a tree be taken care of that quickly. :thumbsup2

I think I texted V & T to see where they were, but V was running a little late, and T was on the other side of the park.

Nearly the only pictures we took all day were on the safari. You can quite clearly see the pouring rain in a lot of these!

We saw quite a few animals:

I thought this guy was cute, even though he's a little blurry:

Once we were done there, with the tree delay, we were ready to use the FPs on EE. We hadn’t done this last year – Woody wasn’t tall enough, and D & I didn’t get over there in a decent amount of time. Both boys said they’d go on it! :woohoo:

I sat with Buzz, D with Woody, and off we went. Buzz was having a GREAT time, actually through the backwards bit, but once we started going fast and forward after, he was NOT happy with me. :rotfl: The picture, though, is before that, and they were both actually smiling. ;) I didn’t have the camera out because of the rain, so I didn’t redneck it.

Woody seemed to like it a little better, but still wasn’t sure he wanted to go again. But we did get 4 more FPs for later – it looked like they'd be ready just after lunch.

There was still just NO ONE in the park, it seemed.

We went and rode Kali, after viewing some nice apes. (I said monkeys, but Buzz corrected me, and he was right. )

Buzz & I were together on Kali and got soaked. We were still ponchoed, but the one problem with my nice roomy necked ponchos is that water can really get in around the neck area. :sad2: ;)

We got right off, and the boys wanted to do it again. We did, and this time the people in front of us just did NOT understand the “go all the way to the back” loading instructions. I wound up having to crawl over people, and the loading CM was getting really impatient with us. Ugh. :headache:

Woody really wanted to try the Dinosaur ride. We hadn’t done it last year because we were in that area right after the Donald breakfast (when it was still there and not at Tusker House) and didn’t feel like it right then. Buzz was leery, but we really tried to talk him onto it. He LOVES dinosaurs, they’re his favorite thing. We got him through the preshow, but he was just BAWLING once we got in the queue line. I had to take him out the chicken exit.

I need the infamous Mother of the Year award, though, because I just was so disappointed in this. He is the more mellow kid, and as I mentioned in the intros, the more timid. D & I both get frustrated when he won’t try new things, especially when we think he’d like them. And it seemed that during the time so far, he was not even as bold as last year as far as trying new rides. The MOTY comes in where I more or less told him that I was really fed up with the behavior. He wanted to look in the dump shop – gee, all the dinosaur stuff – and I more or less told him that if he didn’t go on the ride, he couldn’t look at the store. :guilty: Nice, no? Dang it. Not so proud of myself there. :sad2:

D & Woody came off the ride, and Woody proclaimed it “not too bad.” He tried to talk Buzz onto it, but no dice. We did Triceratop Spin instead. Woody wanted to do Primeval Whirl, but again, he just wasn’t tall enough. I still swear he should have been…:confused3

We decided it was time for lunch. After a little discussion, we thought we’d try the Yak & Yeti counter service – we’d had enough fries for a bit.

D & I both ordered the Kung Pao Beef, Woody went with the Pork Egg Roll, fried rice, and jello, and Buzz stuck to the burger, but he did get the fried rice. (We call it “yummy rice” in our house.)

We certainly should have shared between D & I – this thing was HUGE and we thought pretty good for fast food Chinese. The kids loved the rice.

It had stopped raining, but was still very windy and napkins and stuff were blowing everywhere. We also had a family of ducks with some very tiny ducklings hanging out waiting for dropped food. :cutie:

We were happily eating and formulating our afternoon plans, when I looked up and found…

Am I??

FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I...um...may have been known to...ummmm...ONCE ONLY...give Jon a difficult time about not riding a ride.

BUT...he rode it last year!

(BTMRR)

And he liked it then. He said it rocked.

Then this year...no dice.

Passing the award to you...

Yep, thunderstorms were the deal-breaker. :sad2:

Okay, hold everything - time for carification... V was NOT late! I was with T the whole time, meaning that I made AIS time :thumbsup2

I may or may not have been late later in the trip... :rolleyes1

I think we've all been there CE!

Ooo, I know too, I know too!!!! :yay:

Jimmy was so mad that he did not make the height requirement for Primevil Whirl and I was mad too becasue I knew I had measureed him before we left. When we went for his check-up he was only 47 inches:guilty:

We got Jimmy on DInosaur. He said he loved it, but when we asked if he wanted to ride again we got a resounding NO!;)

Gee, wonder what you saw;)

CE,

You do a great job with the TR. I love the pictures also. Hope we can get everyone on TSM at least once when we are there this weekend. I think we will send D and J to get FP and A and I will bring the kids along. Can't wait. Natalie says she is tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides, but she really isn't sure yet. J says he doesn't want to push her because she over thinks things and then has nightmares, so we will just wait and see. Papa and I just love TT. Can't wait to read more, keep up the good work.

I may or may not have been a little cranky with missing a ride that we had to use the chicken door on... :rolleyes1

Okay, hold everything - time for carification... V was NOT late! I was with T the whole time, meaning that I made AIS time :thumbsup2

Oh, gosh, I'm sorry. I must have mixed it up with a later text. ;) Didn't mean to malign you, my dear.

That was more or less where Woody was. D asked if he wanted to take me back on so I could go, and it was a no. ;)

Thank you!

I would think that would be fine. :thumbsup2 Does DGD walk or use a stroller? D thinks she's looking really tall. :) We saw the pic of J at home! :cool1:

J says he doesn't want to push her because she over thinks things and then has nightmares, so we will just wait and see.

::yes:: I understand that. I think Woody does that, too.

I may or may not have been a little cranky with missing a ride that we had to use the chicken door on... :rolleyes1

He checked out EE on our visit visit of the week. no go,,last day of vacay he was refusing to go on it, I knew he would love it..so I dragged him by his shirt to the line after I chased him around outside first!! then I had to bribe him with anything he wanted from the gift shop...but,,he loved the ride!! its now his favorite!!
