I figured I could go ahead and write this today.
But don't expect much.
1. I took no notes after dinner, and as we will go on to spend 2 more days at MK, things are confuzzled in my brain. I am telling you what I *think* happened this night.
b. I have only one picture.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So we left the Contemporary to head back to the MK. Remember that we don't have PH on our tix, so it was that or home to AKL. (Or, I suppose, DTD.) We asked the boys, as last year they called us on staying out too late on travel day, but it was only 6:30ish. They were ready to go back.
We decided, since we were Monorail newbies, to take it all the way around, through the TTC, Poly, & GF, just for kicks.
It was a nice ride, and I at least got to see those resorts from their monorail docks.
Actually, I've been in the GF. When Dr. Belle & I went in 2000, the wedding reception was held there. But I had a few beverages, and the memory is slightly fuzzy.
Anywho...
When we got off the Monorail, I distinctly remember that it was NOT raining!
It was still light out, too. Nice! So I didn't have to wrestle the octopus under the poncho this time through security.
But we did notice quite a few people in line. Was the lack of rain bringing out the crowds?
Hmmm.
So, according to my kiddos, we went to Tomorrowland. I know Woody really wanted to ride Stich.
I didn't think he'd liked it much last year, but OK.
But I think we were able to walk right into ****
rotfl:
) first. We once again texted our favorite joke:
Why did the lion spit out the clown?
Because he tasted funny.
And yep, it was picked again.
But we weren't on screen otherwise, and it was kind of a lame crowd. I was one of the few waving my arms around.
Anyway, we left that, and Woody wanted to do Stitch. Buzz had D take him to Buzz instead.
Woody & I walked right on, then went out to find D. D hadn't brought his cell, for reasons unclear to me (then AND now) and so we didn't know where they were. The Buzz line looked kind of long.
And I do think it was raining again...
Woody asked if we could do the TTA "so we can see them from up above." It was just coming on dusk, and I had no better plan, so why not?
We took a relaxing ride, and Woody thought he saw them inside the Buzz ride as we went past!
When we finished, sure enough, they were just coming off it. Still don't know if Woody really saw them, but that's fine.
They had gone twice, and the timing worked out well.
I think we were starting to fade at this point.
We headed off toward ToonTown with the idea of getting on the train and heading out via Main St.
We didn't do anything there, I do remember that. But I got this one and only picture of the night:
And we boarded the train and things were fine.
D floated the idea of riding on around to Frontierland and doing Splash Mtn. and BTMRR one last time.
Buzz was in tears at the idea. He was just done.
I said we could just split up. We did still have to retrieve our carryons from Bell Services, the cases probably had been delivered from ME if THEY knew our room before we did, but we'd have to see. We did know also that we'd have to change our KTTW cards because of the new room, too.
So after some debate at Main St., close to Wishes time, as I recall, Buzz & I got off and headed back, whilst D & Woody went on around.
Buzz & I got a bus very quickly, very empty, and headed on back.
I went straight to Bell Services and asked to have the carryons delivered to the new room.
I went to the desk and got all 4 new keys. She said to just have D & Woody throw the old ones away, no need to come by the desk.
I mentioned that we hadn't been to the room or seen a map, but I thought I knew where it was.
She showed me the map.
Yep.
Room 3411.
THE EXACT SAME ROOM AS LAST YEAR.
Maybe it's the "problem child" room, as it's close to being too close to the lobby for a true savannah view, and both years we got it after complaining. But it works for us! It's about 3 doors down from the lobby, on the lobby level, so it's SO easy at night, and there's the lobby bathrooms nearby if you need an extra at any point, and...
We love it! I'm totally cracking up.
Buzz got PJed and brushed teeth and so forth, and headed straight for bed. He got the top bunk first this year. 5 nights, plus 2 kids and bunk beds equals keeping VERY good track. Woody got 3 nights last year, so it was Buzz's turn.
I think he was asleep in about 5 minutes. At minute 10, D & Woody showed up. They had done one more turn on Splash and called it a night, and apparently also caught a bus very easily! He hadn't talked to the desk, so was happy that he didn't need to do anything.
He was also totally tickled at the "different year, same room" situation.
Though sometime we'd like to see the savannah from, say, maybe 10 doors down.
Woody quickly headed for bed as well. D sent me to the gift shop to get a bottle of wine.
We enjoyed it, watching the bongos in the pouring rain from the balcony.
Soon enough, we turned in as well.
Ahhh, Disney.
