and it's not the highest point on the eastern seaboard.

The highest point in North Carolina is Mount Mitchell at 6,648 feet above sea level.

The highest point in New Hampshire is is Mount Washington, at 6,288 feet above sea level.

The highest point in Virginia is Mount Rogers at 5,729 feet above sea level.

The highest point in Maine is Mount Katahdin at 5,276 feet above sea level.

The highest point in Georgia is Brasstown Bald at 4,784 feet above sea level.

The highest point in Vermont is Mt. Mansfield at 4,393 feet above sea level.

The highest point in Massachusetts is Mount Greylock at 3,487 feet above sea level.

The highest point in Maryland is Hoye-Crest on Backbone Mountain at 3,360 feet above sea level.

I think you are getting your highs mixed up…you are talking about Highpoint, NJ up in Sussex.. the email is talking about Highlands, NJ down by Sandyhook. I think they are saying that the Highlands has the highest coast line (waters edge) elevation on the east coast.
