Anaheim Sheraton

Hi - The last time my DH and I were at DL was back in the late 1970's. We both love WDW and go there every year. We decided to go to DL this year the last week in June. We are SPG members and are considering the Sheraton near DL. Has anyone ever stayed there? We are going to arrive on a Sat and stay 3 nights. Will this give us enough time at DL? Thanks all in advance for any info you can give. Sherry

I finally stayed at the Sheraton a couple years ago after passing it by. It has a slight castle look to it combined with a Tudor style. The public areas are nice and large. It is a series of buildings conected by hallways making for a few beuatifully landscaped courtyards giving you the slight feeling of a British manor house. I presented my Starwood card at check in and assume my room was an upgrade as it was huge. The beds almost looked lost! Room decore was bland. They may have redone the rooms since my trip but I haven't found out for sure. Room comfort was average. The bathrooms was just average and seemed tiny compared to the size of the room but it was well stocked and clean. I had a huge picture window looking out over a small rose garden. It is easy to get turned around in the hallways and courtyards. Make sure to request a room "away from the freeway" as there is a new wing along the back of the hotel that borders I 5. The hotel is located behind Disneyland and not a short walk to the parks. You can use the ART system whcih costs $2 per adult or can walk over to the Disney Parking structure and catch a tram. That walk would be 10-15 minutes. While it was a nice and atmospheric place to stay I still prefer the motels right across from the park for access. Across the street from the Sheraton is a restaurant called the Spaghetti Station that we all really like.
To do the Disneyland resort without rushing to much you need 2 days in Disneyland and one day at DCA. If need be you can get a 2 day park hopper pass (sometimes not advertised: you have to ask for it) and do a half day at DCA and a day and a half at Disneyland.

Just to elaborate on the previous posters review, we stayed there this last December and the rooms are huge. I was using a Priceline rate, so I believe all the rooms are huge (I don't think they would have given me an upgrade). The rooms have recently been renovated, so they all now have the "Heavenly Beds". If you never heard of the Heavenly Beds, they are beds that Starwood hotels are starting to add to most of there hotels: They have pillow top mattresses w/7 down pillows and down comforters.

Also, Sheraton has a shuttle that runs between Disneyland every 1/2 hour.
