We are staying at the HOMEWOOD SUITES in late April and the hotel claims to have shuttle to the parks. I have seen the ads for ART and was debating to use the hotel shuttle, buy 2 day ART PASS or just pay the $10 DAILY PARKING FEE and drive myself. 3 fares on the ART SYSTEM at $18 total
seems reasonable ONLY IF the buses show up frequently and they have room.

We just returned and will NEVER use ART again!!! We were on route H3 and the bus was supposed to run every 20 mins. It was around 40 mins. (or more). I cannot tell you how much time we wasted waiting around for the shuttle, both at the parks and the hotel. In the evening when we were leaving the parks, the weather was very cold and windy and we stood there and watched bus after bus show up from local hotels that still run their own shuttle service...but no ART buses. When I asked the driver what their actual schedule was, she said very sarcastically: "Honey, you do the math...it takes more than 20 minutes.".

The other thing I didn't like was that they only ran 30 minutes after the parks closed. When DL closed at 8:00 we wanted to go to Downtown Disney but couldn't as we wouldn't have a ride back to our hotel.

Maybe other routes aren't as bad, but I know first-hand that Route H is a stinker!!!

It's very disappointing to hear about your experience calypso*a*go-go. Based upon the map on ART's website, it does look like the H line could be one of the worst. I read on another thread that someone staying at the Hilton Suites also had trouble with it.

I haven't had any recent experience with ART and would be interested in hearing more. I'm also interested in learning with hotels currently have their own shuttle services.

The last time I used ART, it was always on schedule, but that was another line, and when the system was quite new. What I remember most was the one driver who insisted on constanty playing "If you're happy and you know it..." full blast. I also remember that it could get awfully hot waiting at the transportation center; it completely lacked shade. Is it any better these days?

Here is a link to the ART system:

I didn't see Homewood Suite on the map

I guess I have always had good luck. When we stay offsite we use ART even if we have a car.

I think a lot of the problem was the route we were on. The Hilton Suites is the last stop on Route H and is the furthest away from the parks. It could be that other routes run in a timely manner with no problems. That just wasn't the case for us. :(

I always stay at the Anaheim Hilton and will never use the ART system again. For a hotel that is a 18 minutes walk to the parks, it took longer using the transit system, there is no line established for the system, so people showing up at the last minute just jump in front of you. also the last time I actually used them, the entire system shut down from 12:40 pm - 2:20pm for the drivers to take lunch! All of them down at the same time! and no signs posted anywhere that they were down during those hours.

If you have a choice....stay away, far away from the ART, it isn't worth the time, effort or headache you will have.

No, it's still the same. There is no shelter provided. That was part of our problem as the winds were very high, which made it feel a lot colder that it actually was. It's hard enough waiting on a shuttle that never comes when you're comfortable. Imagine doing it when you're freezing and both your kids are coughing (yes, they are both home from school sick today :( )!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience and that your kids are sick :sad1:
On the map it looks like Angel Stadium is right next to where you were staying. Is it much of a walk from the bus stop to the stadium? I am debating using ART as opposed to taking a taxi to the game.

The stadium is across the street and would probably be a 15-20 minute walk because the parking lot is so big. We were very tempted to try and get tickets but didn't want to give up any time in the parks as this was such a quick trip for us.
