Anaheim Plaza Hotel -- OK or Nasty?

Booked Anaheim Plaza 3 nights Oct 8-11. We like staying on Harbor; we've stayed at both Best Westerns, Park Vue, and HoJo.

Anaheim Plaza is the cheapest, and I booked it after seeing a couple references to it here and OK reviews on Trip Advisor.

Does anyone love this motel? How does it compare to the other Harbor motels? With such cheap rates I'm wondering if there's a good reason this is not disers' 2nd in line when HoJo rate isn't available.

The reservations clerk noted that I want a remodeled room since she kept saying "Just about all" of the rooms have been updated and I knew I'd end up with the one that "just about" doesn't cover.

I'm not picky on decor, just cleanliness.

Thanks.

I don't know, but we will be there at the same time. :) Our first time at the AP, hopefully it's nice......

there are tons of reviews on that hotel, you should do a search. :)

To answer your question, it's not a bad hotel. It's pretty much your average "budget" hotel. Older furnishings, but still clean. It has a very nice pool if the weather is nice enough for that. No continental breakfast at all, if you're the type that relies on that it's something to keep in mind. $4 parking, but there is plenty of space, unlike other hotels I've stayed at on Harbor. It's similar in distance to Hojo's, so an easy walk. Overall it's a decent hotel if you're just looking for a clean, basic room to crash at night.

Hi Mandi!:wave2:

We are just doing a quick one day trip in Oct with the rest of our time in San Diego.

I've got the Anaheim plaza booked for 2 nights and am wondering how it is too. Hojo was out of entertainment rate rooms and thats almost always our first choice.

Thanks for your review!

I've stayed there many a time. While it's definitely not a "luxury" hotel, and it is older (built in 1958, I believe), it's certainly not nasty. ("Nasty" would be a certain hotel very nearby it *next door, cough cough* that is themed in the manner of the centerpiece of Disneyland, lol)

The rooms are larger than average, most have a mini refrigerator & microwave; most rooms also have an enclosed yard or a balcony, the landscaping is nice, and the pool is HUGE.

My only complaints would be that the beds are kind of hard, but I'm picky because I have a bad back.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!

I have probably stayed at this hotel at least 10 times over the past 5 years. The price is alwasy right and the walk is not bad to the main gate. We always have had a clean room.

We've stayed there once and it was fine. Lots of space, not too far, and clean. We'd stay there again if they had the best rate.

Thanks everybody! I appreciate the reviews. Most recent Trip Advisor reviews make it seem ok but I found many older reviews that put it in the Ewww category.
Hopefully it'll be fine--will post a review next month :)
