i just booked the castle queen room with bunk beds at the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel. Has anybody stayed here since they transitioned from Sheraton? Is it nice? The room was half the price of the Disneyland hotel on August 28 and 29 and I think my daughter will still have a magical time. It looks newly renovated and nice. Would love your feedback!

We just got back from there last week. I was a little nervous about the transition from Sheraton to not, but it was fine. We didn't have the castle queen room, but we did have one of the renovated rooms. It was clean and we were happy with it for the price. We found the shuttle to be convenient, although the air conditioning didn't seem to be working well in some of the shuttles. Nevertheless, they leave the hotel and Disneyland every 30 minutes (so from the hotel they leave on the hour and half, from DL they leave at :15 and :45). We never had an issue getting on, though if you want to be there early, it's best to get on line for the first shuttle about 20 minutes before it leaves. The shuttle ride was 4 minutes on average. We weren't totally "wowed" by it, but we'd stay there again.

I was looking into booking there but ended up at the Best Western instead. I saw the hotel as we were driving out on Monday. It looks like it sits right next to I-5. If I was going to stay there, I think I would ask for a room away from the freeway.

I have stayed at this hotel twice (1987 and 2007) prior to the name change and renovations. I liked it both times and have booked a room there for our upcoming trip in September. I am a little concerned that my DD7 and I will get stuck in a non-renovated room, but we did get a good deal on the room rate with the special they were offering due to the re-branding. $119 per night with free wi-fi, free parking, free buffet and the free shuttle.

You can find reviews on Trip Advisor. I have been reading them lately and it seems that the majority of the reviews have been good as long as you are in the renovated parts of the hotel. When I booked my room (directly from the hotel) I emailed them and requested a renovated room. The request has been noted on my reservation, but I won't hold my breath until we get checked in.

We will be there 9/24 through 9/27. I hope you have a great stay!

Thank you all for the feedback! We usually stay at the Worldmark Anaheim and it wasn't available so I thought we would splurge and do the Disneyland hotel but I just can't pay $400/night.

I originally had this booked but due to some concerns with no working a/c in shuttle and non renovated rooms , I decided to go back to Candy Cane Inn.
It's our new go to since DLH is so high now and offers everything we want. The rates are slightly higher but well worth it imo. The shuttle , breakfast and rooms were all fabulous last time we were there.
