An Update on Disney Resort Hotels from Katie Kelly, Vice President of Worldwide Safety Services

Thanks for sharing this information. In the past I always hope things were cleaned that way, but none of us want to wait on our rooms and that what it may take to get a thorough cleaning.

👍🏻🤞🏻😉Wishing everyone happy travels this year.

From the update:

Of course, we all have an important role to play in promoting health and safety. We are asking our guests to help, by washing your hands frequently with soap and water; following physical distancing and other guidelines when you visit; and rescheduling your visit if you or a member of your party feel ill or are subject to quarantine or other travel restrictions.

So when I'm reading the highlighted part of this paragraph I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the travel restrictions the state of FL has on guests from CT, NJ and NY. I live in NJ, my neighbor is planning a trip to FL beginning 6/19 staying at a Marriott timeshare in the Orlando area and she was told two days ago by Marriott that she would have to quarantine for 14 days. This is basically her whole trip. I'm not sure how Marriott or the state of FL will police this. Just curious if anyone living in one of the these states and planning a trip in the near future has asked this question of MS/Disney.

The Executive Order was extended to July 7. It will either be extended, allowed to expire or cancelled.
I am hoping that the parks' opening date of 7/11 was figured with this date in mind, and that it will expire 7/7. NYC has had 0 new hospitalizations and deaths in the last couple days, and the curve has been significantly flattened. This data, more than anything else, has me more hopeful this week not just about WDW but life in general... or at least I'm choosing to focus on this. Today.

It was extended to that date in early May. Since then, FL is in Phase 2 and they removed LA during that. I am holding out hope that they will remove it when they go to Phase 3. If not, my trip to FL may not be at VGF...but, I am going!

Thank you Deb & Bill, I am aware of the site and the restrictions. I'm just curious if Disney is telling it's guests from those states who are arriving prior to 7/7 that they have to quarantine. How will that work? Do you have to lock yourself in your room and you're not allowed to leave it? Can you go to the pool area if wearing a mask and social distancing? Why is the restriction still on? Is it because of the way the governors are conducting business in those states? I would really like to know what member services is telling guests from those states if they are there prior to 7/7.

Well, it has let me do online check in for my JUly 3rd trip and I have not been contacted by anyone to change things,

Now, I have submitted for DME...twice because I had a flight change and neither time, so far, have gotten the confirmation email.

Even though my guest is from NC, I am lead guest so my address is on it,

I don’t know if this is because I am from NY or because the office is closed and emails aren’t going out for those scheduled that early..

If I don’t get it in a few days, then i wonder if that is one way they will stop people...not letting them on DME.

I have also not read of any cash guests who have said Disney has canceled them out either.

Are you flying non-stop from an airport in NY/NJ/CT?
If there is a transfer (for example in Atlanta), the folks who manage the quarantine will see your trip originated from Atlanta, rather than one of the three affected states.

I am connecting via Charolette now, I was changed via JetBlue To come from JFK and switched,

So, my newest request is a plane coming from there as my friend and I are now meeting there and flying into MCO together.

I am still hoping by July 3rd, it won’t be an issue to get to VGF as it will have ended early.

I think as far as the Florida officials are concerned, you are on a flight from Charlotte to Orlando.
If your flight originated from JFK, than things may be a bit different

Thanks! Not worried about FL because my friends parents and mine both have places so we will head to one of them if VGF ends up being a no go,

Just wondering if not getting something from DME is a clue that will not let guests ride if any have addresses from NY, NJ, or CT.

I don't think that matters. Your have a NY/NY/CT address but could have been in Charlotte for the past month

We plan on driving the beginning of August. If the quarantine is still in place, we will not take I-95 into Florida

You are not allowed to enter Walt Disney World Resort hotels if you are subject to a quarantine order, which travelers from those named states are for their first 14 days in FL:

"Persons who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms without completing a 14-day quarantine, or are under quarantine orders must not enter Walt Disney World Resort."

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_CA/experience-updates/resorts/

So where are those of us from these states supposed to quarantine??? Is there a make shift quarantine zone at the border or the airports, or does it happen at the resort/hotel you are staying at??? Personally I think its political nonsense.

I think the whole thing is a mess and yes very political. I'm not faulting the governor of FL, if the governors of the states in question aren't confident that their citizens are "safe" to go out why should the governor of FL think anything different. Yes, very political on the part of the governors of NJ, NY and CT.

I'm wondering when MS is going to get around to telling those guests from the states in question that they "are not allowed to enter Walt Disney World Resort hotels" as Starwind said? Are they going to wait until you get there? I certainly hope not, can you imagine driving up to your resort and being turned away? I would be beside myself if that happened to me. I guess if I was planning on going anytime prior to 7/7 I would be calling MS to confirm I'm allowed to be there and what exactly would be required of me.

From the reports, people are being told to simply refer to the announcement.

I have read nothing about any guests being canceled by Disney or DVC.

Now, I am still waiting to get something about DME for my July 3rd arrival. I am going to assume if they are not going to accept it I will be notified and that will at least give us insight as to how Disney may enforce

I do know someone posted on another forum that they were confirmed for a July 13th arrival from NY On DME ..but that is after the current July 7th.

As I posted, my friend and I are going, I am not canceling and if by July 3rd it is still in effect and I can’t enter WDW, we have back up plans at family owned homes.

I will keep people posted if I get any info from DME!
