An open letter to Mickey, Minnie and Gang- LAST UPDATE ON APRIL

Shirley - I know how much you enjoy making people happy so having to deliver news like this is very hard.

Thank you for all you did for April and her family. By all means please give us an update and let us know when the family does cruise so that we can wish them well after a very trying time.

Prayers going out to all concerned. We don't know why some things happen as they do, but with faith we know there is a reason for everything.

I have to agree. It will seem so sudden, not only the loss of April, but of all of these people who are supporting one another and this family at this terrible time.

I, too, have a 6 yr old and I hugged him a little tighter and a little longer tonight before he drifted off to sleep.

Life is so precious. Our own, our families, and our friends here on the DIS.

Reconsider, Shirley. We want to be here for each other, for you, and for this family. Closing the thread will not make the pain go away, we'll only have to bear it alone.

My DD 13 fell asleep in my arms tonight sitting with me in my lazy boy. Actually my DW came out about 15 minutes ago and woke us both up so that we could get DD into her bed. I was holding onto DD extra tight tonight and we said a prayer for April and her family before we drifted off. I'm glad DD still wants to curl up in her daddy's lap, it made tonight's news a little easier to bare.

I just got off the phone with April's best friends mom named Terri -
April was brought home yesterday afternoon since these were her wishes - April was aware of being home and that her mama was holding her - April went to dance with the Angels at 10:30 last night - the family, of course, is taking this very hard - I understand April was a very strong and smily young lady and always thinking of someone's else feelings first -
Because of April's illness, her sister Amanda has suffered also so in order to not make up, but do something that her sister wanted so much, the family will go someday on the cruise - they have too much to face to even think when and we as parents can understand -
Whenever this "someday" happens, I will let you know - Terri was very thoughtful to have called me - I told her about the outpouring of love and prayers each of you share on this thread and she was stunned that so many strangers got involved with prayers for April - she asked me to tell each of you thank you for all the thoughtfulness and prayers and also even tho April would be missed, she is no longer in pain.
Thank you for all the encouragement - the love, the phone calls, the hundreds of offers of help, emails - the only wish I had for April was of course that a miracle would happen and she could realize her wish but hey I am sure Mr. Disney has granted that already.
