An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Wow, that would stress me out. At least you have the "worst case scenario" of changing it there if you have to.

I'm sorry to read about all of your stresses and the issues going on for you and Mike now. Hopefully you won't have any trouble boarding the train, which looks wonderful by the way, much different than the train I was picturing in my head while reading your previous adventures.

Here's a train ticket joke for you, maybe you can use it on your trip.

Three MBA's and three lawyers go to the train station. Each of the lawyers buys a ticket and one of the MBA's buys one, and they all get on the train. Once on the train, one of the lawyers says, "how do you guys expect to ride the train, having only bought one ticket for the three of you?" :confused3 One of the MBA's replies, "watch and learn." ;)

Just before the conductor comes around to collect tickets the three MBA's slip into the bathroom. The conductor notices that the bathroom is occupied so he knocks on the door and says "Ticket please." The MBA's open the door slightly and extend a hand with their ticket. The conductor moves on and the lawyer's are duly impressed.

For the return trip the three lawyers and three MBA's arrive at the train station together again. The lawyers send one person to buy a ticket, having learned from their MBA counterparts, but the MBA's just walk past the ticket booth and get on the train. Once on the train, one of the lawyers says, "how do you guys expect to ride the train without a ticket?" The MBA's just flash a grin. :cool2:

Before the conductor makes his rounds, the MBA's slip into the bathroom and the lawyers slip into an adjacent one. A few moments later one of the MBA's emerges, walks over to the lawyers' bathroom, knocks and says, "Ticket please." :)

Liesa, I loved your blog update! I hope you will come out of all this stress without to much damage eventually! :goodvibes

Three MBA's and three lawyers go to the train station.

I am not so sure about this joke considering that I am lawyer myself.... ;)

:rotfl2: Okay, I just laughed out loud. Maybe I should have left occupations out of it and made it the "farmers of Oolen" (from my Belgium/Austria flashback TR) or something. But....that is the way I heard the joke, lawyers and MBAs.

Ok, Katharina already told you that 15 Euros would cover drinks for everyone in your family, not just two coffees! :)

I just have to say that I love the name Katharina. My daughters name is Katarina! :thumbsup2

The booking thing is funny! Using your maiden name cracks me up. I use my maiden name on Facebook so for the past year or so I have to think about what I am typing when I type my name! It gets confusing! The train looks cool. I've never been to Europe (although if the military would send us, we would surely go!) and I've never been on a commuter train other than the subways in NYC.

Im glad that the only issues so far are tickets with the wrong-ish name!

And oh my goodness......poop on the train tracks? Really? Thats how it used to be......thats gross!

Sorry I didn't respond sooner...I went to bed very early last night as I was feeling very ill.

Oh my. I just don't know what to say, Liesa. I would be pulling my hair out by now with all that you've been going through (no wonder you used your wrong name).

I'm just sending lots of :hug::hug: to you and Mike and hope things all work out and SOON!

It is stressful, and we are just feeling very done. I suppose it wouldn't be so hard, if we knew we were still in it for the long haul, as nothing is really better than it was the entire 9 1/2 years we've been here. I guess it's all a matter of mindset and perspective.

I"m sure we'll "make it" through the next 3 months- some of it is vacation. Hopefully. That is if Chaostan keeps its border open for us.

As for the train. What can I say? It's like a pristine jewel in my opinion. ;)

GREAT JOKE!! Very funny! And I will use it. The Blankistanis have all kinds of jokes like this, using their much-maligned southern neighbors. One thinks the other is lazy (true), and the other thinks they are mizers (also true).

I thought you might like that. We've come to really LOVE the turtles, and get a personal thrill from saving them from a squishy death off the highway.

Whatever occupation you put in there, it's funny!

I too, LOVE that name! Somehow has a romantic connotation to it.

yeah, almost as bad as jogging in Crocs, forgetting my bra, and other such rot. I swear I"m going mad sometimes. But all the while crack myself up. If this weren't such an expensive mistake I'd be laughing harder.

Be careful where you walk! There's no small amount of passengers.

OH no! I hope you're feeling much better now!! Sometimes a good sleep is all it takes.

I"m going to have one of Tim's specialty Tom Collins or such RIGHT NOW! I just walked in from teaching English, and I also ran my first day of Week 4 today and it completely kicked my butt! I mean really! My legs feel like mush even now 3 hours later. I did do it, but ONLY BARELY! I do believe I'll be camping here for quite a while. But then, again, I"ve said that every week, and I"ve only spent 2 weeks (at most) on each weeks sequence. So, when does the flab disappear?? :confused3 Just curious.

I know my "tude will improve, but the last few days have built me up into a Cranky Pants for sure!

It DOES have romantic connotations to it! It also screams beauty to me! Here is my Katarina:

Surely those aren't the "monsters" and "hobos" you talk about. :lmao::lmao:

They look pretty angelic to me. :rotfl2: (I"m a mother 5 times over, I know what you mean. ;))

I'm joining in from here!!! No way can I catch up on everything! :goodvibes

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

Right now, I"m working my way through the planning/note taking journals I've put together, and coming up for the next 3 months, all kinds of Miscellaneous Stuff, with a whole bunch of stories and chit-chat thrown in for good measure. ;)

Wow! What a turn of events, Liesa!

I hope your DH is able to get the house stuff straight soon so that he can rest easy on that. :(

:welcome: Lady Lallie! :)

And I figure the bathroom on the ICE have to be much better than the sewage at your front door. :goodvibes

NOTHING here goes quickly. Ever. We just found out that our neighbor flat out lied to Mike today about whose name their house docs. are in. So, seriously, we have to just turn this whole process over to our Blankistani friends and let them deal with it. We've resigned ourselves to the fact, that our house will mostly likely NOT be selling before we leave. If I have to make lemonade out of this moldy lemon, we can know that what we actually paid for the house has more than covered what we would have paid in rent over the last 9 years. So even if we walk away, we'll have been ahead.

It'd sure be nice to turn a $50,000 profit though, wouldn't it??

Anyway, the sewage stands. We keep the windows shut.

WOW- you have a lot going on right now... never a dull moment huh? :lmao:

I'm thinking windows held your name and automatically entered it for you... or you were so excited a huge brain fart clouded your thinking! :happytv:

I really don't understand how someone can just claim your land as their own.. you stated that there are land documents. Don't they show what land you own even if someone else claims it as theirs?

I swear the tax office just likes messing with you guys. :sad2:

MORE SEWAGE??????? At least it is on the outside of your house (for now).:rolleyes1

That train looks awesome! Clean and fast! How neat that you have a table to relax at and put your feet up(probably frowned upon)... OK a table to put your coffee on. YEA that's it!

Flossbolna--- Your bathroom story had me cracking up!!!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Liesa....OY!!

I have to admit to laughing a little about your name mix up.....I still use my maiden name for some things...like my ssn, so i have to remember which name to sign on our taxes.:rotfl: It's messed me up several times and left me with the dmv lady looking at me like I must be c razy to not know my own last name.:rotfl:

I can't imagine the crap...sometimes quite litteral, that you have to go through over there to get things done. I guess I'll try not to moan as much next time I'm de3aling with building codes or Ms. Happiness herself at the dmv.

Good grief! You need a hug! and....a drink! :drinking1 I am SO sorry that you have to go through all this. I just don't know what to say! I've never been in any of your situations...so I don't know how to help!

Just think...soon you'll be at WDW...AWAY from all that!

WOW- you have a lot going on right now... never a dull moment huh? :lmao:

Never!

I'm thinking windows held your name and automatically entered it for you... or you were so excited a huge brain fart clouded your thinking! :happytv:

That's what I'm thinking too. As for brain farts..... those are just sort of a regualar occurance. Ha! Cloudy thinking; I like that. :lmao:

I really don't understand how someone can just claim your land as their own.. you stated that there are land documents. Don't they show what land you own even if someone else claims it as theirs?

Ok, here's the scoop. THe old owner was a Communist party member and those people were just generally feared in general. One night, that owner did to our neighbors what they did to us. Simply put up a fence. YOu can either accept it, or go to court. We didn't want to do that.

But come to find out, our houses actually sit on common land. The land was never divided. ANd that's what we're trying to do now. Can't sell the house until that happens.

I swear the tax office just likes messing with you guys. :sad2:

They are the Phantom Menace embodied.

MORE SEWAGE??????? At least it is on the outside of your house (for now).:rolleyes1

Watch where you walk at night.

That train looks awesome! Clean and fast! How neat that you have a table to relax at and put your feet up(probably frowned upon)... OK a table to put your coffee on. YEA that's it!

yeah, yeah, put my $5 cup of coffee on. :lmao: ha! you remind me of Cherie's picture of Jordan with his feet up at the show (was it American Adventure?)
