An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Oh no! I missed your birthday! But, its still Saturday here - does that count? Anyway, Happy Birthday Liesa!!!:bday:party::cake:

:bday: Darn - I forgot you are a day ahead of us! Happy Birthday Liesa! So glad you had a wonderful party. Can't wait to hear about your surprise!

And Happy Mother's Day!

A birthday AND mother's day?!? Your kids better be reallllllly good. ;) Hope you have/had a great day!!!

Hope you had a great B-Day. Nana Biscuit's Birthday is May 9th. The year she was born, which in fear of my life I shall not reveal, the 9th just happened to be Mothers Day like it is this year. I hope you were able to keep your plans for some snoozing. I'm headed that way soon...just got to get this brisket going for lunch tomorrow.

I had an awesome visit in hospice today. My Great Grandmother knew who I was. In her own way, she said goodbye, which was something I think we both needed. I don't think she really knew I was even there the last times I've tried. It was one of those "moments" that stays with you for a lifetime. I'll share the entire story soon, but I don't think I can really deal with it all just quite yet.

You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully I can catch up on TR's soon.

GB, I didn't know you were dealing with something like this. I'm so sorry. I'm glad you were able to connect on this visit - thats a precious gift. My prayers are with you.:grouphug:

Happy Birthday, Liesa - or: Herzliche Glückwünsche zum Geburtstag!

party:

I am sorry that I am day late!! I was in Nuremberg once again (walked past Hotel Elch btw). I went there to celebrate my BFF's "Polterabend". Doesn't have very much to do with a "Poltergeist", which I think is a word that was adopted by the English language? Poltern is a verb which can be translated into to rumble. It generally means making noise. And Abend means evening. The Polterabend is a traditional party celebrated before a wedding (usually the evening before, but today often some weeks before the wedding). Since I will be my BFF's bridesmaid (the only one), I had to be there for this event of course. It generally is a party for everyone who knows the bride and groom, including colleagues and neighbours and such, so it is much larger than the wedding itself. All the guests bring some old china they no longer need and then the china gets smashed on the pavement and bride and groom then have to tidy it up with brooms. Broken china/pottery is supposed to bring luck to the couple.

Oh and I read something about the Blankistani president in the newspaper here, your region of the world gets quite a lot of coverage in the media at the moment...

Hey Liesa!!

Some frustrations have kept me at bay of late ... but ... no excuse for missing the birthday wishes ... so ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! pixiedust: ...

AND ... of course ... since we're on the topic of wishes ...

Happy Mother's Day :flower:

I hope when your head hits the pillow as this weekend closes ... that smiles envelope you from the wonderful memories that were discovered.

Liesa ... I just read through the Epcot journal. To say that envy comes into play would be the kind of gross understatement that I should feel ashamed of. It's amazing ... and I have SOOOOOO many questions. I'll ask them here - but - if that ginormous Word doc you referenced contains the answers - send it on through :o) (disney.robb@gmail.com)

1) What's with the drinking founts between Ftn & Mousegears?
2) Can you tell me about the "Timeline of Discovery"?
3) I love creme brulee - what's special about Sunshine Seasons?
4) Miyuki?
5) Mo' Rockin'?
6) El Cobre?
7) What's the scoop on Ratatouille's in the wine shop?
8) Please tell me about the "tin toy museum" ... Ethan insists his livelihood as an adult will be as (and I quote), "A tin toy builder"
9) "stand at fountain, voices from shop" ... ummmm ... ????
10) "Zither lady"
11) You make a lot of references to hats & fountains?

Lastly ... your picture prowess has left my tingly and gooseflesh laden :lmao:

One and ALL!!

So many wonderful wishes, and good thoughts!! I am overwhelmed!

It was quite a bash of a weekend from birthday, to Mother's Day to VE Day- a huge celebration of which my girls scored dozens of pictures!!

Lots to come starting TOMORROW morning!!

Have a WONDERFUL Mother's Day all you ladies- men treat your girlies nicely. ;)

Alas, it's Sunday, and the puter is only on long enough to call my own mom and to check in briefly here!

Love you ALL!!!

Liesa

It sounds like a way of preparing the new couple for the impending doom of children in the their home!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Gee whiz- go ahead.. ask for the moon! :lmao::lmao: I have no idea which state Bethesda is in. Going to Google now.

OK, it's going to be in Bethesda, which Google is telling me is in Maryland. I'm just hoping to hitch a ride with someone and will sit in the backseat (and I won't even tell the driver how to drive). Glenn came up with some good restaurant options, and I need to narrow it down and get some input from ya'll.

I guess, if we need to be specific, it's north-ish of D.C.; but that's as specific as you're going to get from me. I can make the party fun, but might not get you there! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:lmao::blush: Sorry to put you through all that. I was under the assumption that you were in the "know" about the location, etc. Clearly, you're just going with the flow  Okay, okay. Thank you so much for going to all that trouble to find out it's in Maryland. Perhaps I should direct the rest of my questions to Glenn about the area....

Ha! She's as much in the know as any of us!

I have no idea what you all are talking about. Is there a Meet somewhere??

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ha! No seriously, I just don't know the specifics of the where things are in relation to each other. This city or that city. I do know that there are some really good sounding places around, I'm coming into Baltimore, and I have all day free. I think after we get some specifics from my sister (I'll call this week again), we'll know more.

Oh brother. :faint:

Sorry, I was feeling rather Dory-ish this morning. I"m frantically trying to get my photos uploaded and the text written up for the birthday bash posts. I hate photobucket. That is all.
