An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Day 3 sounds like my kinda day:thumbsup2

However, do try and make a point to have a snack and sit down by the river in one of the Flame Tree BBQ covered patios...so peaceful down there if it's not too crowded. I think each of the covered patios is themed as well...

The Hot Italian SANDWICH is what I get every time I eat at Pizzafari..and breadsticks too.

Ya know Hot Italians are female too!!!:lmao:But I think Lessa would describe one Italian lady a little differently!!!!:rotfl2:

Fun story! My youngest DS had his 25th birthday yesterday, Easter. I was in the hospital after having him on Easter - our oldest DS had Easter at home with Daddy. We were in a military hospital with a roommate, and he was only 19 mo old, so we didn't do an egg hunt.

Thanks for the update on Joseph - God is good. All the time.

Mine was yesterday. :goodvibes I was 39 on Monday. I stupidly thought I was turning 40 2012, oh well. :upsidedow

WOW!! Happy birthday, Camille!!! 39! Not so shabby of a birthday. 40 was a tough one for me- have no idea why, it just was hard. It's like, "Dude, I'm middle-aged now." So, are you thinking about Peepfest?? I have an idea for a Meet brewing- All I will say now, is that it's for women and called "Naughty and Nice". Nothing too wild, but should be fun! ;)

Let me give note to a couple of things.

~~~ Remember WAAAAAAAAAAAY back in the very beginning of this PTR- when I spelled out the things that are really important to me? Coffee in the AM is pretty high on my priority list. It gets me going and is part of my "life script" in psycho babble.
1) I need to remember to pack some REAL coffee bags, so I can get some hot water in the POP food place to make a good cup to head to the park with. Since the POP doesn't come with a coffee pot, that's the best I can do. I refuse to spend $2.50 or more on a cup of crap.
The new single serve Starbucks Via is rather drinkable. Not as good as the real thing but a bazillion times better than hot brown and warm. Tiny packable packets that you just add hot water to. Now of course, for me, it sticks in my craw...one of those we will never do things that just...well....whatever but still, I will admit, it's not bad. And packs well. I need to pack a few pounds of something for our trip! For DCA too, yikes!
Onward to other business. I wanted to share just a few photos from our super fun weekend. It was a triple celebration!
Here's a close up of the cord. It's the responsibility and privelege of the "cutter" to make the cord especially for the child.
After the worship and preaching, we enjoyed a big meal together with the traditional spring soup.
It's supposed to have 7 ingredients, but varies from cook to cook. This one had mutton, dried peas, potatoes, dried mung beans, navy beans, noodles, and rice. The ingredient that makes it unique and really tasty is buttermilk!! It is surprisingly, really yummy!!
Then, later at home, we threw in some American tradition with a rousing round of Easter Egg Hunt.
Great fun, great friends, great food, what more can you ask for??
Now, lastly, and update on Joseph.
I could paint the picture with many more details that would be hard for a person accustomed to “first world medical care” to even believe. But I don’t want to dim the beauty of what God has done this past week in response to an outpouring of prayer and His gracious nature. When Joseph stopped breathing, O. was there. When J. should have only had 15 minutes with Joseph in his room, she was allowed to spend the night. When one doctor adamantly refused to release Joseph or allow the parents to talk to the head doctor, that same head doctor just happened to walk down the hall, and within 3 hours Joseph was released. When they weren’t sure if all the insurance pieces of the puzzle would come together to get Joseph evacuated, in the end they did. When we were hesitant about him being treated in Istanbul, we found out they were sending him to a pediatric neurologist who had been trained at Harvard. "
What a special set of celebrations you had and oh, what an update on Joseph! God is good.
Day 3, Sept. 4th
My last (mostly ) solo day. My last day to do as I please, making only myself happy, wandering the world, rediscovering my inner love affair with Disney Parks.
It's another take it easy sort of day. Trails at AK, lots of watching the musical groups, people watching, extra time in Discovery Island, photos of those shops' themes (did you know each shop is themed??), and hmmm.... something nommy at the Dawa Bar. Cynthia, you've been there. Think I could find a Tangierine Dream here??
I can let you know for sure in August! We had beer the last go round so I honestly don't know what type of cocktails we had other than on that trip I think we were all too scared to see what the prices of them might be so stuck to beer. Or my dad was buying. :rotfl: Or brother. :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
Maroo dd is also eyeing that wwohp - I have so been reading and looking at the clips from the Ellen show!! Her gf is going for the June preview, I'd love to be able to take dd - not sure, but I would have to get a front of the line access, it is going to be CRAZY CROWDED for YEARS!!
butterbeer? I want to try it!!
Official opening date (in case you didn't see!) is 6/18! And yes, butterbeer. We have lots of theories here as to what it might taste like! I'll let you all know in August. Eric is halfway through book 5 which is where Evan stalled out.
I can't wait!
They do mess with us, and our minds, all the time. This whole visa thing is seriously a very muddy situation right now. Most of us fear the doors are closing... :sad1:
I've never read any of the HP books and only seen one of the movies, so I'm afraid the whole thing would be lost on me. :confused3:confused3:confused3
Well, it's late, and time to hit the sack. Catch you all on the flip side of the sun.
Just sad...and wrong....:rotfl:
Camille - we will have to PM each other as the dates get closer. I would love to say hello if it works out.
For sure! :thumbsup2
It is hard, but we're focusing mostly on things we can't get in the States. Our NICE souvenirs, pictures, etc... Clothes are not a priority. There's a Goodwill on every corner. Target's never very far away. The one thing that kills me is our extensive and valuable library. That hurts.
I'm sure you thought of this....be sure to make a list of the books you want to replace for when you come back home. One, it helps you to remember all of the books you want to replenish for your library (I would carry mine in my purse so when I hit garage sales and thrift stores, half price books, I know right away what I have and don't) and it also helps others to know what you still need. Birthdays, Christmas, and just because gifts this kind of list will come in handy. :goodvibes
We've also cut out all candy and soft drinks for a while, as well as added an immune booster of zinc and echinacea. We'll just see. It's gotten so bad, that it really is interfering with her eating. So, something has to be done. Hopefully this combo approach will help!Have y'all tried KANKA? It's about the only thing that helps me. I use to get them frequently when I was a kid and the dentist said it was because I had a couple of teeth that needed fillings. :rolleyes:
We arrived with 20 boxes and are going home with the same. The problem is that baggage rules have changed, AND you get way less going the other way. Only 20 K per person, not the 70 pounds! So we'll ship some stuff via DHL- but that's going to cost us over $600! Stopping in Germany cut us in half again!
That's weird - I can see it. Can anyone else see my new ticker?
I see it! :yay:
Breadsticks...is that you call them?;)
:eek: My eyes! My eyes! :headache:
:goodvibes Thank you! Well....30 was hard, so I'm not sure what to expect for 40. :laughing: I'm liking the fact that the older I get the more comfortable I am in speaking my mind. I've heard older ladies saying this and as I get closer to being that "older lady," I'm starting to really understand what they mean. :rotfl: If I'm feelin this frisky at 39, imagine what will be said by age 49! :laughing: :eek: Did I really just say that?!? :rotfl2:
I'm such a geek, the most important post I wanted to make was giving praises to Jesus for Joseph's recovery, he's been on my heart a lot and I'm so happy and greatful for his health turning around.
Happy Birthday Camille!! How funny that you got your birthyear mixed up! :goodvibes But then, you have the great honor of being born in the same year WDW opened!! So you will turn 40 at the same time! That's how I try to convince myself that turning 40 in 2011 is a good thing... :rolleyes1 I might even have to celebrate it at WDW... ;)
One thing I really liked about the HP books, is that they grow with the characters. While the first book really is a children's book, the last ones are not anymore, much more serious. When Harry is 17, the book is also for readers who are 17. So perhaps Evan might have much more fun reading the last books once he is a bit older? :goodvibes
Awww. :hug: Thank you! :goodvibes As for me...I'll have to wait until 2012 to celebrate my turning 40, and I don't mind. Maybe you can put your trip off until then, that way we all get to meet you. :goodvibes Then we can celebrate our turning 41! :laughing:
The author even said she wrote them for adults and not kids, but she didn't have any idea who the publishers would gear them towards. :confused3 We didn't read them in our house, so I wouldn't know for sure.
What a special set of celebrations you had and oh, what an update on Joseph! God is good.
It was a wonderful weekend. But see my yard?? One more reason I am more than thrilled to start my "new life" at a place that's hypermanicured, and ready to pamper and spoil me. :cloud9:
Great idea!! I like to hit up yard and estate sales. And the Goodwill staff knows me by name. :rolleyes1 We love books, and replenishing our supply will be fun!
Breadsticks!!! I said BREADSTICKS!! :lmao::lmao:
:goodvibes Thank you! Well....30 was hard, so I'm not sure what to expect for 40. :laughing: I'm liking the fact that the older I get the more comfortable I am in speaking my mind. Oh me too on speaking one's mind. The trick is to temper it with grace and humility. Both of which are hard to find these days!! But seriously, as I get older, I'm realizing that I only have a limited time to share what I've learned and what's on my heart.
Umm... yes, you did just say that! :lmao::lmao::lmao: You frisky hot Mama, you!!
I'm such a geek, the most important post I wanted to make was giving praises to Jesus for Joseph's recovery, he's been on my heart a lot and I'm so happy and greatful for his health turning around.
It's so great how well he's doing!!! MUCH better than the guy who I witnessed hitting his head on a bridge from a bus sunroof going 50 miles an hour!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1: He and his gray matter fell right beside me on our European Tour in high school. I have no idea what the long term outcome was on that. He was airlifted to a Swiss hospital which I understand is very well trained in this area because of all the ski accidents. I just know an attorney called me a year after it happened for a deposition. He had been told several times that it wasn't safe. :mad:
I got mine mixed up to this last year. I was 42 twice. Didn't bother me a bit. I think I'll do that every year. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
The author even said she wrote them for adults and not kids, but she didn't have any idea who the publishers would gear them towards. :confused3 We didn't read them in our house, so I wouldn't know for sure.
Us either. Although, I kinda liked the first movie. Someday, I'll get around to watching more, maybe. Meantime, there's so much other better stuff out there!
Good morning!
I'm glad I missed the breadsticks talk last night! ;):lmao:
You are??!
I'd be more witty, but my chicken nuggets are in the oil and I have to watch them. You know... the whole dinner routine thing.
Hey Liesa! Day 3 looks great. Very relaxing. If it were my day, the only place we'd differ would be the parade. I'm actually hoping that Spectro will be back by September. I remember ELP from DL about 20 years ago (assuming its the same), and, well, I think I found the music rather annoying. But, I was 15 at the time - and what isn't annoying to a 15 year old?:goodvibes And I do love Spectro. I'd be sad if it was gone for good.
Okay, you guys totally just made me realize with all the birthday talk and dates and years that I turn 40 in December 2012. :scared1::scared1::scared1:
Someone break out the smelling salts to revive me!
And don't worry, my couple of day adventure on the dark side is a temporary lapse! My heart will always belong to WDW!!!
I know!! Lots of folks are very, very hooked on Spectro; I think it's becuase that's what they familiar with and know and love. I hope it's back for you too! :goodvibes
I doubt they'll take it away for good! I think the MEP is only a temporary thing they're doing as a promo.
Welcome to the last bit of your pre-40's!! :lmao: Live it up while you can. And my advice... start that C25K NOWWWW!!!!!!! It only gets harder! (me speaking with several more thousand burst air sacks in my lungs)
Maybe with this mass exodus, Disney will roll out some more super phenomenal deals. :confused3
ON a more SERIOUS NOTE:
There has been some serious unrest just south of us- bad enough that we received embassy warnings. Many school teachers who work at my son's school were making a visa run this morning (we now have to leave the country to renew visas) and were turned back at the border. They will plead for an extension tomorrow morning, and then make plans to go somewhere else- possibly Turkey??
Anyway, this has happened before, and we're not too concerned here, but we have many company members there in the cities where there is rioting!! We are praying they are not in danger!
Exactly! He stalled out at book 5 when he was far younger than Harry and the book was getting rather dark and heavy. He needs to get back into it, I think he'd love it. It will be interesting to see if Eric stalls out as he is now the same age (9) as Evan was when he was reading book 5.
I actually have just started working on a diet and exercise plan. I hope to be in the best shape that I have been in for years as I inch closer to 40.
I am sorry to hear about the unrest. Sending prayers for safety for those affected.
Well, my vocabulary is steadily growing thanks to you and Carissa!!! :rotfl2:
Is this in reference to the discussion on "my ladies"?? :rolleyes1 My ladies are in a bathing suit top as I type and getting ready to take them and the boys to the beach!! :cool1:
I just read something on yahoo news, which is why I stopped by - to see if you mentioned anything. :hug:
WARNING: Men Beware!!!! This has TMI- You've been warned!!! YOu can read up to Carissa's post, then stop!
Thanks, Cynthia! Have a wonderful day at work! I'll bet you're getting ready for Day #2!
GREAT for you!!! What are you doing for it??
I just did another "run" (good night, I love calling it that!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:) and came home can completely DESTROYED IT by pouring myself a cup of coke and having sweet and sour chicken for dinner. :rotfl2::rotfl2: I just can't muster the gumption to cook 2 separate meals- fitness plan or not!
I want to call my colleagues tonight, but don't want to put them in any more danger in case they are being watched- as I'm sure they are. I'm putting up an update in a little while as to how this will directly affect us in June.
It certainly was chickey-poo! Every time I "run" (There I go again, calling it my run :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:) I think about our little conversation about the Ta-tas, the Ladies, the breadsticks, whatever you want to call them. Just say, I am woefully ill-equipped for the task at hand!!!! I need to call my Mom to come to the rescue and send "some of her support"!!!
