An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

I should have typed this lastnight....I need prayer for my Dr. apt. to go well. I did something to make to make my leg/knee mad and now I feel I need to see a orthopedic doc about it.
Considering my trip is 41 days away, I'm hoping there isn't anything that is seriously wrong and that I'll be well by vacation.
Also my darn lower back went out on me, (major down fall to having "substantial area to support" I'm so aware of how I need to lose weight :sad2:) it's not as bad as it's been in the past, and I'm pretty use to it, but I would like it to be short lived, so prayer for this would be great too.
A big THANK YOU in advanced.
To ask for prayer is kinda a big deal, this is a major stride in progress for me. :goodvibes I will pray for anyone anytime, but have a hard time asking for it for myself. What's up with that? :confused3

Hey Mama , you about to head off to bed?

Ask and you shall receive!!! I am headed off to bed right now; it's late, and another day awaits. PUt in an hour on mary's quilt and am tuckered out. Plus I"m starving, but trying to resist the temptation of sneaking a hunk of bread with jam on it. :sad2: I have to keep telling myself that if I don't want any fat blob pictures on my TR, this has to happen. Right...???

I understand about asking- always harder to ask for the things we need! I hope our appt. goes REALLY well and it's just something that needs rest, ice and ibuprofen!

Okay just catching up on the banter that i missed...

40 is the new 30....:thumbsup2

and remember someone very close to me is turning 50 in 2012:scared1:

I love to watch girl's jogging...:rolleyes1 or Baywatch...just kidding....

I hope the political unrest doesn't impact your friends.

WARNING: Men Beware!!!! This has TMI- You've been warned!!! YOu can read up to Carissa's post, then stop!

You do realize that by putting that there at the beginning, any man that might have just scrolled through saw that and made sure to read EVERY WORD!

It certainly was chickey-poo! Every time I "run" (There I go again, calling it my run :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:) I think about our little conversation about the Ta-tas, the Ladies, the breadsticks, whatever you want to call them. Just say, I am woefully ill-equipped for the task at hand!!!! I need to call my Mom to come to the rescue and send "some of her support"!!!

My trick is just wearing a sports bra that is too small and it seems to keep the girls in place pretty well. Either that or I'm not nearly as endowed as I thought I was. :rolleyes1

On a more serious note I hope the bubes who are rioting don't cause any problems. Please stay abreast of the news and try to keep up with the wires. Don't be a melon head and decide try to stick it out if things become too dangerous. If there are knockers at your door, make sure it is a bosom buddy before you open it. Stock up on rations, especially coconuts as they can be burned for heat if it gets too nippy. I'm sure there are mounds of supporters here and we all give a hoot...er that is we care deeply about your safety. So please strap yourselves down, and fill your cups with the joy of knowing that you are in our prayers.

:lmao:

40 is the new 30....:thumbsup2

Awesome! So I can really tell people I'm only 26?? :cool1: :cool1: :thumbsup2

and remember someone very close to me is turning 50 in 2012:scared1:

Older men are hot. ;)

WOW!! Happy birthday, Camille!!! 39! Not so shabby of a birthday. 40 was a tough one for me- have no idea why, it just was hard. It's like, "Dude, I'm middle-aged now." So, are you thinking about Peepfest?? I have an idea for a Meet brewing- All I will say now, is that it's for women and called "Naughty and Nice". Nothing too wild, but should be fun! ;)

First Happy Birthday Caille!!

You guys are all spring chickens compared to me ...:lmao:
Okay, you guys totally just made me realize with all the birthday talk and dates and years that I turn 40 in December 2012. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Someone break out the smelling salts to revive me!

And don't worry, my couple of day adventure on the dark side is a temporary lapse! My heart will always belong to WDW!!!

So join us at PeepFest!! As for going to the Darkside it may well be in my plans next year!!

Liessa Prayers going out that you all are safe !!!

There has been some serious unrest just south of us- bad enough that we received embassy warnings.

Scary!! :scared1: I hope everyone is safe!

That will be VERY expensive for us; AND here's the clincher.... it may be SO expensive that my DH decides it isn't worth it to renew in July only for a one-month extension. :scared1::scared1: Making my April Fools joke cruelly ironic!!

Oh, no! See what you get for messing with the Dis! All kidding aside, I hope everything is resolved in time for all of your trips and there are no major changes to the plan.

:lmao: I almost spit out my water reading that! :lmao:

By the way, I"ve eaten a ton of paste, in Kindergarten, and loved EVERY sticky bite. Actually it wasn't sticky. I'd let it dry into crumblies then eat it.

Umm, eww.

Night sweet lady.

Good morning! Yup, all night long I slept. ;)

You certainly missed some rich funny! That'll teach you for slacking off!

Great then. I'll get my pretend all dusted off and ready to be 30 again. Now if only my saggy parts would agree to the gig.

Couldn't be you- oh, he that leads the youth.??

Dirty old man. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

You do realize that by putting that there at the beginning, any man that might have just scrolled through saw that and made sure to read EVERY WORD!

That thought did cross my mind. :rolleyes1 But at least I gave fair warning in case they had drinks in their mouths.

THat's exactly what I'm doing- well, the only thing I can do. Could be the latter, though. I'm sure you'll need an "expert" opinion when Chuck gets home. :rotfl:

Awesome! So I can really tell people I'm only 26?? :cool1: :cool1: :thumbsup2

Why yes. Yes, you can!

Older men are hot. ;)

And Jordan seems to have the market on the hot factor!

You look as young as a spring dove, Rosie!! Beautiful inside and out!! WE love you!

And we'll prove it by buying you a dessert at Peepfest if we make it there. ;)

I guess they have accomplished their revolution. many were killed. Shops are being looted. An opposition leader has claimed herself president, etc.... BBC News has the best articles for this stuff.

Me too!!! Last time (2 years ago) this happened, it was all over in a couple months- so we'll see...

Paste. Mmmmm... tasty.

I'm typing from my new laptop!! My DH got me a new computer for my birthday after all! :goodvibes He's so good to me. I never thought I would get something new. :cloud9:
He even picked the pink one for me, he knows me so well. Infact it's the Susan G. Komen pink, in liue of our "girls" talk here of late I thought it rather apropos. As my DH said, when I asked him why he picked the color he picked me....."We have to do our part to save the b**bies." :rotfl:

Thank you Rosie for my birthday wishes!! I appreciate your sweet words, by the way....Your the one who keeps us young! So don't you dare think yourself old in the group, your one of the youngest people I know, there are those who are my age or younger and act like they are 70. I love you and your young spirit.

Leisa, I'm praying all will stay calm for you, I'm sorry you have to deal with one more thing while living where you are, I'll be so glad when we have you here safe and sound.
I so admire your courage to raise a family where you are and I admire your willingness to go to such a backwards place to do the Big Guy's work. I wish I could say I had it in me to do the same, but I know I don't, and I'm OK with it. I think I'm okay with it because it means God has designed me for another purpose, and I hope you and I as well as many others on here are able to use those gifts together some day for a greater purpose.
I spoke with Ms. Mary tonight and she's needs prayer for William-Lauren's little brother, he had a bad reaction to something and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital, she did call me back after he was on his way and said that he was doing a little bit better when the paramedics got there. Keep them lifted if you can.

I forgot to add in what happened with the doctors appt. today....the doctor said I pulled but did not tear my hamstring muscle, so I guess it will be physical therapy from now until I go to Disney. The good news.....well, besides the fact that I just pulled and didn't tear a muscle is that all should be healed before the trip. Whew! "Missed it by that much!"

The body working together- takes a whole lotta gifts and since we have Someone creative in charge, we get a beautiful thing.

:scared1::scared1: It's always something around that house!!! :sad2: Poor thing.

That's great news!!! So glad to hear it isn't anything that will mess up your trip. Maxwell would have been proud! ;)

Hope it didn't bind you up. :confused3 ;)

So what did it taste like? popcorn::

No, I leave the binding for when I tear up the road. :lmao: I'm an amazing sight out there! Let me tell ya! :rotfl2:

Ok, here's the lowdown on paste. I can tell you everything you ever wanted to know....

It tastes

like chicken.

My thoughts exactly.

:scared1::scared1: It's always something around that house!!! :sad2: Poor thing.

That's pretty much what Mary said tonight. That poor family needs a serious break. I'll pray for one.

It's the only thing that made sense since I didn't have the pain to go with some of the other symptoms, praise God! Thank you for your prayers.

:rotfl: This is what my DH says about anything he's eating. I think he does it to drive us nuts. But I think you really mean it tates like chicken. I knew a girl in school who would do that, she would pull the stick out of the paste bottle and put the whole thing in her mouth. :crazy2:

Liesa, first thing I did this morning was checking the news on your neighbour country. Looks like things might settle fast there... They say that it sounds like it happened exactly in the same way as when the now overthrown government came into power. :confused3 I hope your friends are all safe and that you will be able to stick to your plans.

It is interesting that BBC has better coverage than US news media. From what I read here in Germany (where it is front page news in the newspapers this morning), the country is vital for the US as they have a military base there. I would love to hear more of your opinion on things like that, but I am afraid that the DIS really isn't the place for that. I am really looking forward to being able to talk to you in person in Nuremberg in the summer and find out more! :goodvibes

I did too! But of course, it's ummm.... rather close to home here! ;) yes, that's exactly how the (former) gov't was put into power- a revltn. about 2 years ago. They promised transparency and swift action towards democracy and human rights. None of which happened... hence what we are seeing now. But I fear it's only going to get worse now. Apparently the woman who now claims herself president doesn't like foreigners investments or influences. Hmmm... I wonder where the ideas she aspires to comes from??

I just got done Skype chatting with our friends in Naryn. They are safe, but hunkered down. The opposition has control they say of the police station, newspaper, and gov't buildings. Here's the frightening clincher...

They had JUST turned in their passports for new visas when this happened!!! :scared1: So, now, even if they wanted to evacuate they cannot. They have no documents AND the roads are closed.

Yesterday, a co-worker of theirs (a local) overheard some men talking outside her apt. door, and they were asking people where the Americans lived!! Yikes!

That's all the news I have. BBC has done a great job covering the story. And like you say, it's odd it's not headliner stuff in the States? I'm really not sure how a complete, bloody revolution in a country where our most strategic air base is for the Afghanistan theater, is could not be. :confused3:confused3:confused3 Odd at the very least.

Anyhow, yes! It will be good to talk about all this in just a few short months!! I can't wait to visit you and chat about all kinds of fun (and not so fun) stuff.

Time is marching on! I really am having a hard time, in fact, wrapping my mind around how much I have to do, and how little time, relatively speaking, there is left in which to do it! Besides the obvious work of packing, sorting, finishing ministries, shipping, and a small bit of travel (hopefully!), I have to finish some planning work on this trip! Journals need to finished up and bound up, schedules printed out and stuck in, more cash deposited into my super secret Disney savings account, and a few other things I can't mention yet.

But, we did make some progress yesterday regarding one last MAJOR planning decision: What to wear for our Halloween party. I'll bet you think I"m going to tell you what we talked about, don't you? Well.... not just yet. In fact, we haven't even decided if we're going to or not. We may leave you in suspense for a very long time. Just suffice it to know, we finally have some direction now, and can start our shopping. That's a step in the right direction!

Time to set our thoughts onto The Plan of Attack- Day 4.

What grand and glorious things might our Sweet Land of Liberty hold before us on Sunday, Sept. 5th?? What secrets will be unlocked, and what treasures will we plunder??

Here's what we're thinking might lay in store for us:

9:00- Check out of the POP, and head over to our next tropical paradise home :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Explore the POLY, swim, take pictures, settle in, etc...

11:30- Massage at the Grand Flo Spa (the cheap one....... at $75 :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:)

Afternoon- Head to MK - (focus on Toontown and Main Street)

Lunch at Pecos Bills (chicken wrap)

5:30- Back to POLY for Tiki Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 (I really hope and pray LeeAnn arrives in time for this, but if not this, for sure in time for our ADR!!)

6:40- ADR at 'Ohana- (prepare for a pig out- including a $13 "Luau in a pineapple" ;))

8:00- Back to MK for parade and fireworks (?- may skip in lieu of riding SplM., JC, and BTMRR at night)

8-12- EMH at MK- who knows what kind of trouble we'll get into in 4 hours!?

Questions:

1) Do you think LeeAnn has a pretty good chance at arriving in time for our ADR? If coming straight to the Poly for the airport? That's over an hour and a half.

2) I'm really waffling on the massage. After reading Crissy's review, I'm more excited about it, and would love to be pampered. It would be a 25 minute "experience"; do you think 1 1/2 hrs. is enough time scheduled in there? 11:30-1:00

3) Am I right in that they don't issue FiPs during EMH?? I know amateur question... just seeing who's paying attention.

Camille - so glad you got good news at the doctor! That is always my fear before a big vacation - one of us getting sick or hurt.

Good Morning America did talk about the overthrow and upheaval this morning. They tacked it onto the end of the nuclear agreement segment and did mention how much of an issue this is for us in Afghanistan. Of course, we have so much more important things to worry about here like Tiger Woods playing in the Masters and Jon and Kate fighting over custody. ;)

If LeeAnne is doing Magical Express and having her bags delivered later, I don't think she will have any problem making your ADR. My last trip we got off the plane, through ME, on the bus and to Pop in about 40 minutes or so. It was lightning quick! Saturday afternoon arrivals usually take the longest in my experience.

Glad to hear it's getting some attention in the news. It's not everyday, and entire country falls apart overnight. :sad2: Oh, don't forget Sandra Bullock's hubby checking in for "sex addiction therapy"! :lmao::lmao: :sad2:

Glad to hear of one good report on ME being quick! I would love for her to start off with some whiz bang theming- and what is more "bang" than the Tiki Ceremony? This will be a Sunday, in the evening----- however, it is on Labor Day weekend. :confused3 Think it'll make a difference?

My last two trips I had booked massages for our "off" day at the parks. But then, when push comes to shove and I can add another park day on for a couple bucks as opposed to a $80 massage and I see those buses heading out to the parks I waffle. I think to myself, I can get a massage at home but can I soar through California, or see Donald's butt sticking out of the back wall and I cancel my massage and head to the parks. Should be noted that I STILL have not rebooked a massage at home yet.
