Liesa, I just read about it on a news site, too. I hope things will calm down for your colleagues and I hope everything will work fine with your visas as well.
Thanks, Cynthia! Have a wonderful day at work! I'll bet you're getting ready for Day #2!
I want to call my colleagues tonight, but don't want to put them in any more danger in case they are being watched- as I'm sure they are. I'm putting up an update in a little while as to how this will directly affect us in June.

I have two words for your ladies....Title Nine.
Day 3, can you believe it?
WARNING: Men Beware!!!! This has TMI- You've been warned!!! YOu can read up to Carissa's post, then stop!
On a more serious note I hope the bubes who are rioting don't cause any problems. Please stay abreast of the news and try to keep up with the wires. Don't be a melon head and decide try to stick it out if things become too dangerous. If there are knockers at your door, make sure it is a bosom buddy before you open it. Stock up on rations, especially coconuts as they can be burned for heat if it gets too nippy. I'm sure there are mounds of supporters here and we all give a hoot...er that is we care deeply about your safety. So please strap yourselves down, and fill your cups with the joy of knowing that you are in our prayers.

GREAT for you!!! What are you doing for it??
I just did another "run" (good night, I love calling it that!!) and came home can completely DESTROYED IT by pouring myself a cup of coke and having sweet and sour chicken for dinner.
I just can't muster the gumption to cook 2 separate meals- fitness plan or not!
1) As per a new law made a couple weeks ago, the government is enforcing the rule that foreigners leave this country in order to renew their visas. But with the unrest and rioting, this is not possible.
A group of teachers from my son's school in the big city left for a visa run this morning, but were turned back at the border. Now they are having to make other arrangements for getting new ones.
That will be VERY expensive for us; AND here's the clincher.... it may be SO expensive that my DH decides it isn't worth it to renew in July only for a one-month extension.Making my April Fools joke cruelly ironic!!

I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope things will settle down so you can leave on schedule!ON a more SERIOUS NOTE:
There has been some serious unrest just south of us- bad enough that we received embassy warnings. Many school teachers who work at my son's school were making a visa run this morning (we now have to leave the country to renew visas) and were turned back at the border. They will plead for an extension tomorrow morning, and then make plans to go somewhere else- possibly Turkey??
Anyway, this has happened before, and we're not too concerned here, but we have many company members there in the cities where there is rioting!! We are praying they are not in danger!
OH MY!!! LOLOL I had to read the first line 3 times. I was like bubes... what am I missing. On a more serious note I hope the bubes who are rioting don't cause any problems. GB has taken over my spot!
That right there, was seriously the funniest thing I have EVER read here!!! EVER!!!!
By the way, I"ve eaten a ton of paste, in Kindergarten, and loved EVERY sticky bite. Actually it wasn't sticky. I'd let it dry into crumblies then eat it.
It was take me far too long to come with something as witty and funny, so I'll just gracefully bow out, but not too low....
Errrrrrr...But...about that April Fools joke?!?!?!?!

Good for you!!! Dont beat yourself up over the food, take on one challenge at a time, it's to hard to change all of it at once, most people fail trying to change it all at one time. So there's incentive to change things one at a time.

I'll be praying all goes well.
It certainly was chickey-poo! Every time I "run" (There I go again, calling it my run) I think about our little conversation about the Ta-tas, the Ladies, the breadsticks, whatever you want to call them. Just say, I am woefully ill-equipped for the task at hand!!!! I need to call my Mom to come to the rescue and send "some of her support"!!!

We will miss out on saying a real good-bye to many very close friends and miss a piece of closure we will really need.
3) We have personnel in 2 of the cities with rioting. We are quite worried, yet, unable to make contact with them. It would be unwise and unsafe for them. They all have children, and one of the cities is very small. We vacationed there 4 years ago, and it is a lovely place.
So, this is what we deal with occassionally; it's that time again....
Stopping!

You knew we woulnd't actually stop right? That's like telling the kid in kindergarten not to taste the paste.

crying!
That is SOOOO funny!
But...about that April Fools joke?!?!?!?!![]()
Well, at least the run balances out the food. Before you would have eaten the food and not done the run. So that is still an improvement! I am doing my version of WW and hoping to take the dog for a long walk several days a week for now.
I hope everything works out for you and I pray that your colleagues stay safe!
Hilarious!!!!!![]()
