An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

In order to prevent massive AWOL Syndrome taking hold of the ranks because of battle fatigue, boredom, discouragement, or worse, we're going to shake things up a bit in our game. We'll call this ADR 2nd Phase Combat.

Here's how it's going to work. Over the next couple of weeks I will issue a series of hints and clues to our remaining 7 ADRs. Your job is to decide which restaurant fits the clue and whether it will be breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Here's what may help you:

  • Past info. from Rations Drop (Pt. 1 of this PTR- see link below)
  • Intra-post banter (I hope you were paying attention!)
  • Park hours including EMHs
  • Pay attention to things we may have mentioned that we'd like to do outside of the parks (hint go back to our Resort and Misc. Top 10s)

As you can see, this will involve a good deal more strategy and hunting. Get your inner-park planner on!

You won't be submitting your guesses until the last set of clues has been given. Sometime around the 27th or so depending how I do at posting. Regardless, I'm asking that you PM your final list of guesses on, or before, the 31st of March.

The points you've gotten in phase 1, of course, will count towards your final score.

Now for your choices we have: (remember, your job is to place these on their day and their meal slot. It's not about times anymore- that was far too much a crapshoot!)

Garden View Room at GF
Teppan Edo
The Plaza
Boma
Biergarten
Jiko
Kona

There are 7, thus you will, again, get 7 sets of clues. Put on your best M.I. hat, and get ready...

Here's your first set of clues:

Wednesday, Sept. 8th

1. We're moving from the Poly to POR this day.

2. It is a reservation for 3.

3. We won't be using a regular park ticket this day.

4. Tonight is our MNSSHP.

Remember, you might want to, at this point, only narrow it down, and wait until the rest of the sets of clues come up, before you have a cow. Really it will all come together in the end. ;)

You can send the kids my way to do dishes ;) No points for me this time either, but that's okay! I'm starting to hope the gooseegg folks will get one right, then I'll be tied for lowest score! :lmao:

I'm glad your neck is starting to feel better! Hope you have a great Sunday!

:lmao: I"m not sure how it's going to work out now that we've changed things up a bit. Now, I wonder if those goose-eggers will purposely miss them all! :rotfl2:

Thanks, Amanda, I'm doing a lot better today. :thumbsup2

Dang it - this game moves too fast for me! I think it is your secret ploy to make sure we all read your thread every day. I am losing hope on keeping up with Amanda's. So sorry your neck is not getting better - sending healing thoughts your way!

well, maybe... :rolleyes1

OK, not really. But I do like to keep you on your toes, and things interesting around here! ;) Yeah, I can only keep up with her updates now--- ditto Jordans.

Maybe not, but some of us got them both WRONG! :headache:

Tamarind chutney was one of my favorites, and I think I liked the coriander chutney pretty well also.

don't fret... the 2nd phase is set up just for uber-planners like you.

I really am torn on those chutneys. They all look so good!! I'm going to get the recipes for them all and just can them for myself at home.

Cherie we are still tied for the "****IE" prize !! We ARE good at this aren't we !!!???

oh, Rosie, you sure have quite the knack for getting censored!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Bleep, bleep, bleep...

You ARE very good at this! ;)

Remember, you might want to, at this point, only narrow it down, and wait until the rest of the sets of clues come up, before you have a cow. Really it will all come together in the end. ;)

I knew that one day I would be punished for being a latecomer to this thread!! :sad1:

I have no idea what having a cow means, but I think I am about to have one. This sounds horribly difficult!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

But since you say to wait patiently for more clues, I will be good and just do that! :surfweb:popcorn::

Well my strategy HALF worked so that's something. :lmao:

All I have to say other than that is YUM! Sanaa is one of the meals I am really really looking forward to!

I'm not surprised at CG with 8 not being available but wassurprised you could get a 7:40!

I'm sure you will be fine at CG, you may not even be seated on time so.....:rolleyes1 a cocktail....don't order right away....:rolleyes1

I've got a Kansas Cozy on my neck right now, I think I caught your bad neck.

No, not really, I almost always have a bad neck, it's just worse today.

Half good at this game is amazing!!

doesn't Sanaa look downright mouthwatering??!! I can't wait!

All of these ADRs surprised the heck out of me! 7:40 may be ok, yet. Glass of wine before- you betcha!

OH no! The last thing I want to do is "spread the cheer" of a bum neck! It was awful!!! Seriously, I'm really starting to wig out that I won't be able to ride any of my beloved coasters! :headache:

Sorry I have been MIA here this last week. Real life has allowed no time to DIS.
Your ADRs sound great so far. My mouth is watering right now thinking about 'Ohana.popcorn::

No problem, Barbara! Pop in when you can. I hope 'Ohana lives up to the hype!

Well I was half right so I got one.
Half is great!!

Hi there! My Internet is down. How is your neck?

A little better. Not 100%, but I can at least be out of bed!

I ressemble that remark!!!!:rotfl2: I am followinfg Winkers I have every confidence she will lead us to a PRIZE!!:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

I think between the 2 of you, you'll win something. :lmao:

Is that like a texas t shirt?

?????

I think I should get a half point for saying on-time when it was only 5 minutes off. :rotfl2:

Hmmm... maybe...

I don't know what a texas t shirt is!

It's a buckwheat pillow that shaped to rest on your neck and you can warm it up....which makes it cozy!

I used it twice yesterday, neck is a LOT better today. I think it may be time for new pillows...again. :(

My rice sock works great! Stays hot about 20 minutes; just the right time to do something good.

I think I've gotten myself caught up enough to join in again!

SO GREAT to have you back with us!!! Lots of funny stuff here!

Dang! I knew that idiom might trip you up! It just means get all flustered and upset. Really! Don't worry! I think as you get more clues, you'll be able to piece it all together by deduction and logic. It'll be like one of those HORRIBLE, dreaded logic problems from 8th grade math or one of those puzzle books where you have to figure out Mr. Smith's 5 children's names, which toy they play with and what their first names are. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hopefully, it won't make you go running away screaming for mercy like I did. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hooray! So glad you get to have the pit stop in Germany..my Mom lived there for about 3 yrs when my Dad was stationed there, and she looooooved it! Got cute pics of my bro in liederhosen and the whole 9 yds! I'm sure you'll enjoy it! :goodvibes:

Ohh..I likey the logic puzzle! Will have to get out my notebook so I can write them all down! I'm such a geek :lmao: Glad your neck is starting to feel so much better

I"m really looking forward to taking some quiet strolls on the cobblestone streets, just soaking up the atmosphere. Finding some good German food, seeing some older sights than we have in the States!! Fun stuff. AND I promise a full mini-TR!!!!!

:woohoo:

Yes, this is one for the geeks. But, I think by the time all the clues are out, everyone will be able to get most, if not all, of them :goodvibes

I'll wave as I fly over :) That's amazing that he chose to live on there.

I've been a few times too, but never got very deeply into it. I'd say you'd need all 2 weeks to start to feel like you "getting it". I think you'll have a marvelous time in a couple of years. So next year it's Australia?? Then after that Germany??

At least 2 and not moving around too much I'd think! I was there about 10 days a bazillion years ago but lots of moving around. I like to rent an apartment or flat for 3 days in a couple of places to really get a feel for areas and be less of a tourist. Of course we will just camp out at his house for about a week and then hit the road. I am (of course) hoping to slide DLP in there...or more accurately a weekend in Paris that happens to include one day at DLP.

I'm guessing it may be 3 for Germany. Australia next year, adult only with hopefully the DCL mid winter cruise. Peepfest the year after (on DVC I hope! and am leaning towards the DCL portion as well) and hopefully Hawaii (don't think I can swing Peep and Germany the same year), and then Germany after that. If we did that their kids would be 3, 5 and 10 and the E's 12 and 13 so I think those would be good ages for it. The boys keep angling for Hawaii. They find it insulting that they have cousins in both (Germany and Hawaii) but haven't been to either. :rotfl:

He's spent most of his adult life in Germany, when not deployed and when not there, always angling to get back. I can't say any of us are surprised by the choice and last year when he married a Polish National who was living in Germany, we knew that was it. He can only handle being "back" for so long before he gets really annoyed with Americans. I think he truly prefers Germans to even the Americans he works with in the service! And now in his civillian job. He got some ugly attitude after his marriage, really messy and ugly.

Although actually she'd be thrilled to move back here some day to be closer to us. So you never know but I just don't see him leaving. I see us needing to go there more and more as time goes on. Which is ok with me. We decided it would just make more sense for us to go with just the 4 of us, than the clan of 6, so waiting makes sense at this point.

I'm really glad the rice bag is helping!

Oh Lordie..... now I'm going to be searching aimlessly on your other PTR threads to find the right answers :surfweb: :faint: Great idea though! You're making us work hard. You must be a drill sergeant at heart ;)

I'll standby for further clues.

Now that sounds like a truly wonderful plan! Yes!! Less tourist, more observing, watching, blending. As much as one can.

Slipping a DLP in there sounds foolishly wonderful too!! Living on the edge, you are! :thumbsup2;)

Yep, gotta work hard! But, as you get more of the clues, they will fall into place, guaranteed! Fret not.... :3dglasses

I don't know what a texas t shirt is!

It's just a silly name I've heard people use for those paper toilet seat covers they have in public restrooms. :p

I am really, really, really excited that one of the last HUGE decisions related to our moving has been made. He gave me the final go-ahead to buy our tickets home, with a 2 day layover in Germany- where we'll head down to Nuremberg for 2 nights.

I"m sure this Belle from the Battalion will LOVE the company of these 2 DISComrades on their own turf!! :woohoo:

What great news! We'd love to go to Germany someday - when the girls are a bit older. Scott's grandparents on both sides came over from Germany pre-WW2. We were just looking at their old photos, ships manifests, and other memorabilia on our last visit to his dad's house. His father still writes to some cousins in Germany - it would be great to meet them in real life. I always picture the scene in European Vacation where the Griswold's go to visit their German relatives, but end up at the wrong house. The people are so hospitable that the have them to stay anyway, and the Griswolds never realize they were complete strangers.:rotfl:

Ahhh, now I get Texas T-shirts. :lmao:

Yeah!! A great way to break up the trip AND score a DISMeet!! :woohoo:

It's amazing how many immigrants there were to the US from Germany!! I wonder what %age it would be? Hmmmm... google is in my future....

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: One of the funniest movies- EVER! Hilarious stuff!

Hey Guys, and Lovely Gals-

I found a fun PTR to read, and wondered if you'd want to follow me over.

My_Pal_Pluto is an excellent writer; the title is Bouncy, Trouncy, Flouncy and something else ouncy, and I thought you'd get a kick out of it.

It's a dad planning a trip for his triplets!!! And he's having a blast!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the recommendation! :goodvibes

Yay! A game even a slacker like me should be able to handle! But now I'll have to keep a list of my guesses for each clue so I don't repeat any. :scratchin

My little brain hurts already.:)

Seriously, Jordan, this isn't going to be as hard as it looked at first. Hang in there!

Thanks for the recommendation! :goodvibes

Your welcome!! He's a very funny writer!

My dementia one is positively throbbing !!!:rotfl2: About all I can figure is where MNSSHP is !!!:rotfl2:

Dementia??!! Spare me, Rosie. You are as sharp as a tack, to use a very old, worn out, and tired cliche. :rotfl2: Just make a little list with your eliminations and you'll do fine!

Yay! A game even a slacker like me should be able to handle! But now I'll have to keep a list of my guesses for each clue so I don't repeat any. :scratchin

Really, it should be a cinch, and get easier with each clue.

I wondered if you'd seen it - it was one of my faves growing up!:rotfl:

My favorite line: I think I just stabbed my brain. (son to family as he's picking his nose, as father drives off a cliff )
