An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

I can't believe I got the last one right! :cool1:

I'm guessing before I look at anyone else's guesses...

Sanaa - earlier

California Grill - later

And hope your neck pain is better. I deal with neck pain almost daily.

Got your guess in, and thank you!! for feeling my pain. Of course, I mean that only in a figurative way! I would never wish this on ANYONE! It's amazing how much we move our necks in an hour's time. It really almost takes intense concentration to NOTmove it!

sanaa- on time
cali grill-later

Alrighty!!!

I was in a such a rush last night I didn't even see these. Thanks Everyone! Miss you guys too!

Oh, and for my guess, I'll shake it up a bit and go:

Later at Sanaa and earlier at Cali.

At least we can still see you around here!!! Anytime you want to throw a crazy Biscuit Family story, you just post away! :thumbsup2

This game is moving fast. I've missed quite a few rounds, but it looks like I could still be in the running for lowest score!

Sanaa - on time
Cali - later

Or highest!! :lmao::lmao: I wanted it to be fast moving- certainly finished by the end of March. It's amazing how fast the months are breezing by, and I still have so much planned for this PTR.

I'm dittoing Winkers we both have 0 so if I stick with her we both will win the ****Y prize:rotfl2: Just kidding Cherie I am useless at this !!!:rotfl2:

Ohhh, you got bleeped again, Rosie! :lmao::lmao::lmao: Just think of the incredible honor it would be to lose in such a grand fashion AND still get a prize!! :rotfl2:

You mean "my ladies" prize! :rotfl:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: SHould I send out grapefruits for prizes??:rotfl2:

Going to go with late at Cali, and on time at Sanaa!

OK- Dokey! :thumbsup2

HI Amanda!!! How are you?? I'll make you a deal. You can bite at this inane game, if you let me bite at keeping up with your thread! :lmao: Which isn't inane at all. I do read the updates though ;)

And that's just it. How can you wake up one morning practically paralyzed??! I don't get it! It must be something I do in my sleep? :confused3

Since you asked how I am, let me launch into a 30 minute diatribe! LOL..just kidding! I'm doing well..Piper is still fighting off something, cough and sinus issues going on. Just keeping an eye on it at this point that it doesn't go into something else! :headache: I'm keeping up with the chapter links this time, so catch up at your leisure, dear heart..

Sometimes when I sleep wrong my left arm falls asleep, nothing like waking up to pins and needles..the neck thing would def be worse though! Keeping you in my thoughts that it clears up soon!

30 minute diatribes are always welcome. Poor Piper!! I hope it doesn't turn into Club Med again!! You've had enough of that for a while!

THANK YOU for the links!! :worship: It's so hard to keep up otherwise!

Thanks, too for keeping me uplifted! I'm hoping it turns the corner today!

Leisa, OH NO about the sock! :headache: I hate it when I do things like that.
We used one of John's older tub socks from when he was in the military and then tied it off, it was plenty long for filling and tying. You want some room of course for the rice to be able to move around so you can shape it to your neck the way you need to. Hope you had one long enough for this.

I will keep going after it lady, eventually things will have to come into alignment, in a manner of speaking. ;)

Well, I'm about to fall asleep while sitting here because you went after it...so I'm off to bed! :goodvibes

Love! Love! Love!

Sounds like you are slightly better, hope it continues along the way, but I hope the speed of recovery increases quite a bit!!

I was thinking about how preparing for moving might be a lot of stress, but won't it be positive stress in a way? At least you can look forward to live in a more moderate climate and without horrible train journeys? :goodvibes

My parents did not have a dish washer either when I grew up. So one of the most common chores for Katharina and me was to do the dishes. But the rule was that nobody would ever do the dishes on their own, you would always be at least two: one cleaning, the other drying. We actually spent a lot of quality time with other family members doing the dishes together and chatting! :goodvibes

However, living on my own I have come to really appreciate my dish washer... :rolleyes1

Are you ready for the shocking answers to Sanaa and the California Grill???

Let me just start by saying no one, not one single contestant, on "The Game That Appears Too Difficult" got both answers right.

As surprising as it may seem, both of our ADRs are

EARLIER

that we had asked for.

Sanaa only by 5 minutes, which in of itself is puzzling to me. Why can't they just give us a round number like the 1:30 we asked for?? 1:25??

The Cali Grill was a bit more off with a 7:40 time. Remember we had asked for 8:00. Wishes is apparently as 9:00. So, I hope there isn't too much lag time there between finishing dinner and the Grand Finale. We may have to be a bit adamant that our courses be paced appropriately. With a time like we got, they may try to push us out for another party hoping to get our table in time for the show. Linger, we will.

I think only 5 people got one point this round. I"ll do up scores again next time. Just for the record, I don't think I've posted one set of scores that's been 100% accurate yet. Sorry about that guys!! Just keep reminding me!!

OK, I went back to the menus just now, and took another gander at the offerings. MY, OH MY some things have really changed over at the Grill!! Yikes!

But first, here's what I'm thinking for Sanaa:

Indian Style Bread Service
Choice of 3 breads and 3 accompaniments
Serves Two $8.99

Breads - Naan, Onion Kulcha, Paratha, Paneer Paratha

Accompaniments - Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Green Mango Pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, Tamarind Chutney

The ones in orange are looking mighty tasty. I hope LeeAnn and Mary and I can split this!

Also, again split:

Appetizer Sampler for Two - Potato and Pea Samosas, Lamb Kefta, and Roasted Cauliflower $14.99

Then, Salad Sampler
Choice of Three Salads $6.99

Chickpeas with cucumber and tomato
Roasted potato, corn and spinach
Watermelon, lime, and radish
Roasted Beets
Carrot, orange, and mint

If all the above are split, then I'm hoping I"ll have room for:

Slow Cooked in Gravy, Simple and Well Seasoned
Choice of two served with Basmati Rice or Five-grain pilaf
$18.99

Chicken with Red Curry Sauce
Shrimp with Green Curry Sauce
Beef Short Ribs

Now, let's move across the property for dinner! Dude, I hope I'm hungry after Sanaa!!! Either way, I'm going lite here. Not much looks good to me on the Main course menu anyway.

So, here's what I'm thinking:

Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli - with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, shiitake mushrooms, and basil $14

And:

California Grill's Cheese Board (frequently changes) all 5 for $20

And:

Sweet Celebration - Fall Apple Cobbler, Walnut-Oatmeal Streusel, Calvados Ice Cream, and Apple Caramel Drizzle $12

I know, the combo looks funky!!! I KNOW!!! I'm really having a hard time finding a good pairing groove here, from what's offered and sounds good.

Any ideas??

Well, I'll touch base again with ya'll on Sunday night- your time. Meantime have a wonderful weekend!

Actually, I thought the the rubberband being burned to a sticky crisp was pretty funny! :lmao:

I ended up tying it shut like you said- works like a charm. I've been lying low today, so am slowly regaining my range of motion.

Sounds like you are slightly better, hope it continues along the way, but I hope the speed of recovery increases quite a bit!!

It will be a fair amount of good stress, too. But the other stress like how to move our stuff, how to sell our house and get the money into the States, etc... is NOT good stress.

My girls and I do all the dishes too, but it's always the 3 of us. One clears and puts away food and wipes the table, one washes and rinses, and the other ferries the dishes to the drying area. We put on nice music and actually enjoy the time. :goodvibes

I will have one in the "new" house, and it'll be nice to say "go do the dishes" to the kids, I think. :thumbsup2 I can live either way, with or without.

Wow, both earlier???

Well, no points for me then!

I think Cali Grill will be no problem to stretch it out until Wishes! The meal is served at a more leisurely place anyway and I have often read that nearly everyone stays at their tables until Wishes is over. I just checked and when we were there we checked in at 6:45pm and were seated nearly immediately. We were not done with dinner at 8pm when Wishes started! :thumbsup2

Just don't get too attached to your menue choices. The menu there really changes regularly. The goat cheese ravioli is always on the menu as is the cheese board. But the dessert you mentioned wasn't available when we were there. Just go witht he flow and let the restaurant surprise you with its choices! :goodvibes

Yeah, hardly anyone scored this time. I was just as surprised as you! I thought we'd get both on time.

You are right. It does change- quite frequently. Everyone raves about the ravioli, so I am looking forward to that! :cloud9: But the desserts I'm not so picky about. I only went with that one, since I was going with no main course. and it seems like the most "hearty". I am looking forward to this meal, but I think the atmosphere has equal draw for me with the food.

Originally, I thought I'd just have a meal of sushi, but I was able to find a slot for my sushifest at the Kona cart at the Poly one night, so I'll save that for then.

You can send the kids my way to do dishes ;) No points for me this time either, but that's okay! I'm starting to hope the gooseegg folks will get one right, then I'll be tied for lowest score! :lmao:

I'm glad your neck is starting to feel better! Hope you have a great Sunday!

Dang it - this game moves too fast for me! I think it is your secret ploy to make sure we all read your thread every day. I am losing hope on keeping up with Amanda's. So sorry your neck is not getting better - sending healing thoughts your way!

Let me just start by saying no one, not one single contestant, on "The Game That Appears Too Difficult" got both answers right.

Maybe not, but some of us got them both WRONG! :headache:

Accompaniments - Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Green Mango Pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, Tamarind Chutney

Tamarind chutney was one of my favorites, and I think I liked the coriander chutney pretty well also.

Well my strategy HALF worked so that's something. :lmao:

All I have to say other than that is YUM! Sanaa is one of the meals I am really really looking forward to!

I'm not surprised at CG with 8 not being available but wassurprised you could get a 7:40!

I'm sure you will be fine at CG, you may not even be seated on time so.....:rolleyes1 a cocktail....don't order right away....:rolleyes1

I've got a Kansas Cozy on my neck right now, I think I caught your bad neck.

No, not really, I almost always have a bad neck, it's just worse today.

Sorry I have been MIA here this last week. Real life has allowed no time to DIS.
Your ADRs sound great so far. My mouth is watering right now thinking about 'Ohana.popcorn::
