An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

I think I missed a round...but I know I have at least 1.

You're abslolutely right!! I just changed it. As you can tell, every little point is going to count big time.

I imagine the final point counts are going to hover at around 4 or 5 per person at the rate ya'll are going.

Now rice I can do. Did you know the Aral Sea is practically empty now because of the rice and cotton grown here in the middle of the desert?? Rice is our staple and will fill a sock nicely!!! :thumbsup2 Great suggestion~!

Oops. Didn't read the new Post about Sanaa and Cali Grill

I say...on time and later.

We do the rice in the tub sock. Works like a charm! I just heat it up in the microwave for a few minutes until it's a comfortable hot and then put it on the area needed and it stays warm a long time. I would suggest putting a towel or a sorta thick jacket over your neck before laying the heated rice on it.

Sorry your not having the best of days with ypur neck, hopefully you'll wake up with it feeling a bit better. I think it will just take some time and careful battle on my part......I wonder if this isn't a result of the battling you've been doing for me? Hmmmm, I think I'll have to get right on that!

Thanks, Katharina! I'm starting to think it really is NOT a muscle problem at all, but a disk thing. I took ibuprof., a prescription muscle relaxant, and had massage, and none of those did ANYTHING!! I have zero (literally) mobility putting my head to the left side (ear to shoulder) and cannot look up more than about 4 cm.

NOthing better than a little sisterly rivalry!! You sound like my daughter and I when we "play" on here! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the instructions on the warm pillow. I don't have a microwave, and didn't know you could do it in a real oven.

I don't think I'd like either, if they taste like beer. But the fries, mmmmm.....

Oh I really hope that it's not the disk!! I read recently that nearly all back problems are caused by too much stress. So just taking time to relax might be the answer anyway! I hope you feel better soon!!

Isn't it funny how much we get used to some things that we don't consider using the simple way! I once had a boyfriend how did not know that you could warm milk without a microwave... :rolleyes1

Oh and the Belgian fruit beer is very nice, only a hint of beer taste. It tastes more like a fruit cider. :thumbsup2

I have seen pictures of it and it is soooo sad. The Aral Sea must have been such an incredible sight when it was still full of water! :sad2: I am reading a horribly depressing book about the Dust Bowl in the 1930s on the Great Plains in the US and that's another chapter of ecological catastrophe caused by trying to gain as much from the land as possible. Here in Europe we killed all the woods in the mediaval times to produce charcoal, wasn't any better... :confused3

But on a happier note, I vote on time for both!! :thumbsup2

And fresh in from Brussels, here are the votes from nodnol: Sanaa on time and Cali Grill later.

I can't believe I got the last one right! :cool1:

I'm guessing before I look at anyone else's guesses...

Sanaa - earlier

California Grill - later

1) Does it grieve anyone else to see GB's TR in the completed section??]

Yes, I saw that also and thought the same thing.

Yes. :sad1: I miss knowing that G.B.'s going to update his amazing stories for TR's or stories of days gone by. He was one of my highlights when coming on the boards, I couldn't wait to see what new story he had up his sleeves.

I was in a such a rush last night I didn't even see these. Thanks Everyone! Miss you guys too!

This game is moving fast. I've missed quite a few rounds, but it looks like I could still be in the running for lowest score!

Sanaa - on time
Cali - later

HI Amanda!!! How are you?? I'll make you a deal. You can bite at this inane game, if you let me bite at keeping up with your thread! :lmao: Which isn't inane at all. I do read the updates though ;)

And that's just it. How can you wake up one morning practically paralyzed??! I don't get it! It must be something I do in my sleep? :confused3

Since you asked how I am, let me launch into a 30 minute diatribe! LOL..just kidding! I'm doing well..Piper is still fighting off something, cough and sinus issues going on. Just keeping an eye on it at this point that it doesn't go into something else! :headache: I'm keeping up with the chapter links this time, so catch up at your leisure, dear heart..

Sometimes when I sleep wrong my left arm falls asleep, nothing like waking up to pins and needles..the neck thing would def be worse though! Keeping you in my thoughts that it clears up soon!

I hope your neck is starting to feel better. I will say earkier for the Sanaa and later for Cali.

Oh the pressure!

I am going for

earlier for Sanaa
later for Cali Grill

This one's tough.

I'm going to say on time for Sanaa. Later for Cali.

I don't know why I both any more, I am really not good at this!! :confused3

Sanaa is on time
Cali Grill is later

Okay, Ladies, got them all down. You're iright, Crissy, but I'd have to say they are ALL tough! There seems to be very little pattern at all- random to say the least.

Toni, you're not doing any worse than anyone else here. ;)

I say LATER for both Sanaa and Cali Grill

Later for both, then. :goodvibes

Did the rice bag/sock last night and it does help----- a very little. A tub of nearly scalding water helps a lot more. So I'll do that couple times a day. Mostly I"m going to just lay low today and try to not use it. Not much neck turning while DISsing! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I had tied the thing with a scrunchie of Anara's and it melted in the oven. :rotfl2::rotfl2: It was funny until I picked it up out of the oven wrong end up and the rice dumped all over the floor! It wasn't very funny sweeping it all up... :sad2:

Oh I really hope that it's not the disk!! I read recently that nearly all back problems are caused by too much stress. So just taking time to relax might be the answer anyway! I hope you feel better soon!!

It stands to reason that as our family starts this journey of moving back I'll have more stress! I think as spring gets warmer, I can take more walks and release a litte of it. Thanks!! for the encouragement!!

Isn't it funny how much we get used to some things that we don't consider using the simple way! I once had a boyfriend how did not know that you could warm milk without a microwave... :rolleyes1

Yeah, it is funny! I've never had a dishwasher- ever. I don't even like them. They take up a scad of cupboard space and by the time you rinse you've practically done the job, just throw a little soap on and it's a snap. Same with a microwave. Never had one. Maybe we're old fashioned, but my counter/cupboard space is too precious. It just takes a little extra planning to heat things up on the stove or in the oven. :confused3

Oh and the Belgian fruit beer is very nice, only a hint of beer taste. It tastes more like a fruit cider. :thumbsup2

That does sound nice. Do they drink it cold? Room temp??

I guess it came down to greed and mismanagement. In short, bad stewardship of what the Good Lord gave. It's even sadder that the lessons are so soon forgotten. Or ignored.

But on a happier note, I vote on time for both!! :thumbsup2

And fresh in from Brussels, here are the votes from nodnol: Sanaa on time and Cali Grill later.

OK, got them both. Will let you know in a while...
