I love the small souvie idea for WS. I know I've seen some small things in Norway - just can't remember - I was in a daze from the rice cream and school bread! They do some hand painted wooden items - there may be one in a little spoon or magnet for something like that.

First. Norway.

I love the straw ornaments! My (1st) exMIL was Swedish and she had a ton of them, they bring back lovely Scandinavian memories for me. They may also have the tiny little mugs and spoons that you'd use to serve Glögg.

Then. China.

Ok, the hat is cute but I was thinking about the actual use of it but if it would fit on TOP than I think it's a fantabulous idea!

Norway- good idea! I love Glogg. My BIL serves a traditional Norwegian breakfast (think ludefisk) every Christmas morning. Glogg is non-optional.

China- You're right not very practical, or everyday-ish. but if TOP wore it, I could see it pretty often, as he is usually sitting spiffed up by my puter.

I have to run a seam over the plaits, then get a photo uploaded. Maybe he'll greet you in his new duds on Monday AM.

Long chopsticks to cook with! I'd never thought of that!

I think the hat would be fun! What would you do with it once it was home?

Chopsticks can be pretty handy in the kitchen.

It's good to have him back, Tammie!! That's for sure! And just in time for Valentine's Day. He brought me a nice card and some message heart candies.

Rice cream puts me in a daze too!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmm! I love that stuff- could eat it all day long!

Definitely proud! But a lot of bureaucratic paperwork wears me out!

I don't know if candy is a souvenir !!! But on Winkers and Jordans recommendation I bought the kids BOTON RICE candy and they all liked it and it was only $1.25 a box !!They were fascinated that the inner wrapper was edible and said the candy tasted like oranges !!!

I know some of the candy wrappers have some really cool packaging with fun foreign writing on them. My daughter does a neat craft called tea bag paper folding (kind of like oragami) that might be fun for her to do with the papers. But I was sort of thinking I'd steer clear of the edibles since I want to see/use whatever I buy in my everyday life.

French Canadian Tate says Bon Jour!!!!

Here is Tate in his/her very first custom-made outfit for his Trip Around the World. He is holding his clothes on by the skin of his teeth. He is VERY much looking forward to a picture with Off Kilter (if they will let us) and will be most affronted if they refuse. A Canadian CM will work if they are too important to have some fun with us.

In other news, I just got off the phone with Mary, and her arm is not broken- at least she doesn't think so. She will see an ortho tomorrow.

I have to tell you, maroo is pretty darned tootin excited about our newest photo theme idea. She says it would be fun to get you all involved. What are your ideas for costumes and places?? Want to even go the extra mile and do up a gig for Tate?? We could turn this into something big and fun with spectacular prizes. It's up to you- our readers.

Doesn't s/he look guuuuuuuuuud??!! Too bad he has a pear shaped body structure though! He ends up having to hold most of his clothes up with his/her teeth. Ah well...

I thought his hat worked pretty well with the Canadian trapper heritage of his friends in the Great White North, which these days isn't so white! By the way, congratulations to all my Canadian Friends and Readers!!!! That's awesome about your Gold!!!!! WOOT!!

Here's TOP's sexy measurements: 13" around the thickest part of his "waist" just under his armpits. The length from the floor to just under his armpits is 3 1/2inches. This is the length for stuff that might go on his bottom part.

I want to make her a belly dancing something that will hang off her face with "coins" and veiling. I hope I can talk Mo' Rockin' into a photo shoot. And if I can round up a mini sombrero we can get Cobre Mariachi into the act. I'm loving this!!!!!

I'll actually enjoy making something..I sew some, do Piper's halloween costume every year and things of that nature, this should be a breeze. (And won't take much fabric..LOL.) I have an idea, but not telling, more fun to surprise you! I'll get on it when we get back from our trip..that may even give me a different idea!
