An example of not so good Fort Behavior

Nah,

that campsite isn't bad......

This

is a bad campsite.

You know this is a deer lease photo.

I find it funny that this person took time out of their vacation to video tape someone’s camp site. It is there site and they can make look as they please. One trip in 1994 we had our tow vehicle and popup on blocks with no tires on them and a mail box in front just to be funny.

Come on, now. I'm gonna call you on that one unless you can produce a photo.

Just because you pay your site rental doesn't mean you can do whatever you like on it. The property is still Disney's and they have the right to make and enforce any rules they please.

On a side note, the Country Bear Jamboree IS horrid. Even my 5yo said 'They look kind of awful' with a bit of a horrified expression on her face.

And people who video tape other people's campsites and post them on youtube leave me with a similar horrified expression on my face.

I have photo's and are looking for them all day.I even call my old friend dave that still work's for WDW and he is looking to. FUNNY....... We stayed two weeks and the looks we got priceless.

OP asked if the video'er was snobby......I think they were funny as heck...I mean, I couldnt pass up an opportunity to make some kind of a joke out of those guys if I were staying next to them!!! If "momma bear" would have came out with rollers in her hair, a ripped moomoo dress on, and a black eye scrreaming at the person with the camera....it would have deserved an oscar!!!

Poor Rog. He always get's aquainted to the lower class folks due to his profession.
Hey... I AM "THE LOWER CLASS"!!!!!!! But in my defense, I only HAVE to work 3 nights a week.....most folks do 60-80hrs to make ends meet. I successfully keep a family of 7ppl well clothed, well fed and well housed. 800-1500 bucks a night might would convince you guys to be in this profession as well. Ive been invited to radio countless times, and yes...thats a more acceptable line of profession...but the money blows unless you're a celebrity(Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, Paul Harvey, Kasey Casem)!!! I just aint cut out for fame...wouldnt want it, wouldnt know how to handle it. But anyone who knows me knows I run a live show 10 hours a night 3 nights a week with human flesh obstacles that could make ANY Howard Stern show BEG for pointers and material!!!!

:rotfl: Too funny! :lmao: I'm pretty sure "momma bear" has made an appearance or two of her own on Cops also!

I gotta say, aside from the car for sale, I take that site with a grain of salt.

First of all the golf cart is a FW CM cart

I would deduce with the wrecker, the old car, the tires and the golf cart with the gas can in the back that they were having some sort of car or trailer trouble.

It also looks like it had just rained, hence the tarp.

I've seen tent campers at FW with full sized fridges outside too. Perhaps the one in the trailer didn't work.

My point is who cares that much that they have to take a video. And where does she get off sounding so superior.

Most of us "camping people" started out in tents. When we were tenting my DH used to set up a bunch of tarps with stakes and poles. He joked that we looked like gypsies. I guess we actually looked like bears:sad2:

I can only speak for myself, but I think most of the posts responding to the video have just been in good fun.;) It does look a bit run down..and supposedly there are rules regarding the number of vehicles permitted on a site. I know we are in a camping resort where you are not allowed a "for sale" sign..I often wondered why they had that rule..after looking at the vehicle with the price written across the windshield, I now understand it.

Yes, yes, I agree about the car for sale, I do. I even agree that the place needs to be tidied up.

Its the lady's tone that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And the fact that she needed to tape it and then post it on Youtube.

I also truly believe that there's more going on in that picture than is on the surface. The golf cart, the wrecker, the tires, the gas can, the fridge outside.

I see it more as an episode of Columbo than Cops.

I personally think the lady should have minded her own business, but that's just me.

Also, what does she have against the Country Bear Jamboree??!??!?!?!?

Last summer when we were camping, while we were at the MK and from across the lake watched as the Fort take a whoopin from a thunder storm. Over at the Kingdom we didn't even get a drop of rain. On the way back we learned that there was golf ball size hail falling earlier! I was expecting our tent to be ripped to shreds, but all that had happened was the wind blew our canopy over. I imagine it was like that all day but we were having a blast over at the MK, people probably thought we pretty slack too I bet!

Hey Stacktester, sorry for the delay in answering....yes, we met last year around the 4th at FW. My brother in law and I stood around chatting with you, I think you might have been out bike riding with your daughter. We were in the 700 loop, we like it and will hopefully get it again.

After I read this thread, I watched the video. I sure hope no one is taping our campsite. We do on occasion leave the grandkids bikes laying around. Although we don't bring a second refrigerator, alot of people do. If you're staying for more than a week and you have at least 4 to 6 people in your camper, you probably need the extra space. The two vehicles and the For Sale sign were not Fort Wilderness approved, but they did get alot of attention thanks to the video on YouTube. Whoever did the video, thanks for making me very self concious about anything we do while we're trying to relax.

Ok, what am I doing wrong?? Every time I click on the link, it takes me to the main youtube page. What am I missing? :confused3 I want to see!!

Hmmmmm....the video has been pulled off YouTube. Darn it!! I would love LOVED to see that glorious campsite you are all talking about. :lmao:
