An Aussie in the World My Trip Report Finally!!! UPDATED 10/10 Day 5 Done! and PICS!!

Glad you came back and are working on finishing your report. I love the pictures.

My dd-22 works at a summer camp. Ben from Australia came over 3 years ago and worked with her for the summer. He went to Paris for the winter and went to school. He came back to camp the next summer and never left. He is actually running our YMCA camp now. I guess he loves Wisconsin.

This is a great trip report and fun to read about US things through the eyes of an Australian!

DAY 4 Continued Epcot By Night

Okay so it’s been awhile waiting a few months  But after Leaving MGM Studio’s I ended up at the park I was most anxious to see Epcot.

Well I got off the bus and saw... The Bus Dock, I don’t know what I was expecting but I was quite amazed that I couldn’t see anything just a very bushy entrance way down past the Disabled Parking area.

Than beautifully through the tree’s I could see it! Spaceship Earth!! And Whoa!!! That thing is HUGE; I mean I knew it was but wow!!!

So I entered got my pic’s taken in front of Spaceship Earth and took heaps of shots of every aspect of it!

So than with it right in front of me I of course went on it, and got my first taste of what a classic Epcot ride was about. I learnt things! While having fun!! The scenes were amazing and just incredible space to put it all in!

Well I came of it very excited to keep moving and associating myself with this incredibly unique park. So of course I went to look in Mouse gears :rotfl: AND controlled my self quite well and bought nothing. I decided to call home and see how all was doing and was good to hear my mum’s voice, than I was staring at Mission: Space, now this was one I had been nervous about, and decided I wouldn’t ride it. I just didn’t feel right about it so I decided to skip it. No Regrets though, when I go back though I think ill try the Green One!

Instead I went onto TEST TRACK!!!! It had a posted wait of about 140 mins thank goodness I was alone and they have the greatest invention Single Rider Line!!! This ride from start to end was amazing I think I ended up riding it 8 times the whole week :goodvibes

From there I ran across to the other side of Future world and went to the imagination pavilion. I have always been fascinated with Imagineering have all the books, so I was looking forward to seeing Figment in where he lived! The ride was odd, but did make me think which was great! I also bought a figment doll just to have sit in my room to inspire me to imagine! :figment:

Well I knew Soarin’ would have a huge line, and had ridden it a few years earlier in California. Plus the sun was coming down and I decided it was time to stroll around World Showcase. I also had a Dinner booking at the Japan Pavilion for Tepenyakkii(sp?)

Well when I booked I was pleasantly surprise to find out the Food and Wine festival was on which turned out great as I love food!

So I Started out at the Canada end and just strolled in and out of the pavilions taking it all in as I was spending the next day here again. This park is so Beautiful!!

I had Chips for a snack in England, than went onto France which was so amazing, I had a Crème’ Brule’ which was just so delicious! Than I continued onto Morocco which I loved it was incredible unique with a great little band playing. When going past American adventure I saw it was a little while to the next show that would finish just in time for me to get back to Japan and for my Diner Reservation.

There was a lot of people around due to the Food and Wine Festival, and seeming very “Happy” It was cool seeing all countries represented including ME!! Australia!!! I was quiet surprised with how big Australia’s was but then we do have a lot of wine. So I kept going looked at a lot of shops, and seeing all the crazy stuff from around the world. I got round to China, and looked at the time Whoops! Time flies so I had to run back to American Adventure so I could get into the next show.

I made it just in time, and took a seat, now I sorta knew what this is about, but WOW!! It was amazing, I learn’t allot and loved all the AA’s Loved the Song America at the end. So I got out of it and rushed to Japan to make my reservation. After running around all of Japan trying to figure out where I had to go! Well I finally figure out to go up the other stairs and went in to let them know I was here! Then the waiting game began. It was really crowded in the Waiting area, and they gave me a buzzer to let me know when they’d be ready for me. Buzz, Buzz! Buzz! Everywhere but me! Well I got taken through and was quite surprised how secluded the restaurant was. I got seated with this Family of 4 from New Jersey who also had one of their parents their. They were so nice!!! Chatted the whole dinner, I found out why there were so many people from New Jersey down there! They had a 4 day weekend because of Report writing days of something like that. Well They were really nice, told me how many times they had been, and were amazed I came all the way from Australia to come here, than was going back to LA to go to Disneyland  I talked to the grandparents a bit and the kids asked the usual Questions Kids ask Australian’s… Are Kangaroo’s everywhere….. And Are Kola’s up Telephone Poles :D Thank you Simpson’s! Our Chef was great and the meal was very filling.

I had to scoot off quickly after dinner as I looked at the time and realized I only had ½ an hour a great spot for Illuminations. So I thanked the Awesome New Jersians for the company at dinner and said good bye. I ran some more and got a great spot out front of Canada where some people were sitting on benches facing the water so I stood behind them perfect view! Well while I waited I called some friends at work, as it was early afternoon the next day back home, so found out how all were doing, than got off the phone after realizing this call properly is costing 4 bucks a minute. Well a huge family stood behind me and started chatting asked where I was from Said Australia, and they said they thought so when they heard me talking on the phone about time. Well these guys were great also from New Jersey. So I’ve realized NJersians are awesome people!! So we chatted for a bit and before I new it Illuminations Started!

Well I Love this show The Music is just amazing. It gives me shivers and I knew this show would tear me up. And Yep!! By the end tears, it’s just so unique!!

Well It finished and the Crowds started shifting to the Exit! Ahh cramped! Well luckily
For me it was EMH so I finally found somewhere to get a wristband and then headed off to Test Track and rode it two more times! It’s so cool! I love the Speed at the end. After that I wondered a bit and then went to head over the Pavilion I hadn’t seen yet (That was not closed) The Land and everyone else had the same idea! I should have ridden Living with the land but I went for Soarin’ instead, it had a 90 minute wait and I thought meh why not so I waited and go the 2 most annoying people in front of me it was a father and son The father was cracking on to this blonde in front of them and the son just ranted random things for the whole 90 min’s he was like rain man!! The music this is the soundtrack to Jurassic park, this that blah blah blah... I almost burst out laughing a couple of times but contained myself!

I really loved the queue for it very calming colors and the Quiz Boards where entertaining enough. I loved the Final Stretch down the Blue Hall very cool! I got front row centre, and loved It!! The Queue was an incredible improvement on the one at DCA.

Well by the time I got out the park was closing so I basically walked out backwards taking photos. Got to the Pop Century Bus Line and WHOA!!!! It was huge, so about 5 busses later I got on, but WDW were great they just kept sending bus after bus after bus.

I got back I think it was about 10 to 1 and had a great bath and curled up in bed and fell asleep to the crazy guy and his ad to sell cheap white goods channel 

Sorry for the late update, and the no Pictures’. I have to get off to work now. But I have tomorrow off work so I’ll post a heap of pic’s to go with this update 

Thanks for reading and stay tune for DAY 5 another day of Epcot goodness!!! As Well as my Favorite thing at WDW outside the Parks the Sea Racers!!!! And The Magic Kingdom by Night. (Yep it was a big day!!)

Stay Tuned for more and Soon this Time!!

First off, Thank You! We New Jersians appreciate it!

Just a friendly FYI (for your information): Perhaps the son was autistic. The "Rainman" character was on the Autism Spectrum. My son (8 yrs) is autistic, and he is constantly self-stimulating by humming, singing, and "scripting" pieces of movie dialogue or books. We have a real epidemic of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in the U.S., and you will likely run into more kids/adults who demonstrate these annoying behaviors!

We try to use the FP queue (with our Guest Assistance Card) to spare unsuspecting guests like yourself. We are used to our son's "ranting" bits of info, and we live with it every day, and it can still get on OUR nerves, let alone the nerves of those around us!

Please post the next piece soon; looking forward to it!

Kathy
