AN AP-ALOOZA with a baby! October TR turned year of Disney! NEW 2/7 AUG FINISHED!

Moving on to the next day! I have a lot of updating to do, I want to finish up this march report to talk about our super fun June trip! Heading to the Cape (Cape Cod) tonight through Sunday for the 4th so I'm sure I'll have a mini TR for that, too, for fun.

So Day 3 of the March trip was...EPCOT! Really looked forward to this day! We had lunch ADR plans at Chefs de France (yes I was very nervous how she'd do, it is much quieter in Chefs than Boma!), see the topiaries, and dinner at La Hacienda. Yum!

We got to the park right before 9 and didn't have to wait long to get inside.

Our first stop, as usual, was spaceship earth with no line. I was interested to see which two people they would choose, and poor Aria ended up getting left out!

**EPCOT is so easy when you move at a baby's pace. I love that there aren't 100 million attractions I feel like I have to get to in the first hour or else the line will be too long.

After that we headed over to Nemo, again no line and then we let Aria run around and see the fish. It is a great area for that as long as it doesn't get too busy. First thing in the morning most people are elsewhere though.

No pictures between here and heading to lunch! Why? It was DOWNPOURING. And cold. Ugh! Aria played til around 10 and then I put her down for a nap in the stroller (had the maclaren BTW, which does not have a full recline and makes nap times in it more uncomfortable than the city select). I will bring the city select with me in August, going on and off the buses is why I brought the compact one but no buses for me in August!

We ended up checking out the festival center during her nap time, since it was dry, inside, and the stroller could come in. I saw a sneak of the vera bradley disney bags but they didn't really appeal to me. It was pretty empty inside so we sat down with a tea for my mom and a chai latte for me and relaxed for a bit. Oh, another plus for the city select was the rain cover. We don't have a rain cover for the maclaren so that was another reason she really needed to be inside for her nap!

After a decent nap we headed out towards lunch in France, stopping a few times along the way for some pictures.

lunch was right at Noon and we were seated right away, in what I would consider the best table in the restaurant! It was right in the corner facing into the France courtyard (vs. the main side looking out onto the WS lagoon).

Lunch was delicious for ME! Yum! I had my chicken/mushroom pastry thing which I just LOVE and it was fantastic as ever. I missed my mom's chef interaction because I ran to the bathroom, but apparently he was very French to her (ie rude) and didn't want to entertain any options with her once he found out she wanted a VEGAN meal on top of being GF, so he threw down his napkin and said "I make you a plate of grilled vegetables" and left.

I was disappointed to hear this mainly because my mom LOVES france (granted, she has not visited since making these culinary changes) and I hoped this would be a great meal for her.

Anyway, the Remy interaction was fantastic. Aria was wonderful during the meal - ate pretty well, played with some toys, and was happy during the entire thing. Then when Remy came around she watched the whole show. The table next to us was two young women on some sort of girl's trip so Remy's handler was eating that up and it made for a fun time all around.

After lunch we had no plans except to check out the play area next to Morocco and the Oz playground, both set up for the F&G festival. I was actually a bit surprised there weren't a TON of topiaries like I had expected, it really didn't seem all that different, but the play areas were fun to have for Aria despite the rain!

Oh first we checked out the Tea garden in England.

continued in next post....

Then we walked back over the bridge to head to the first play area.

It was fun except for the RED brand new mulch they used - it stained everything. :scared:

Not enough pictures but Aria had a blast running around. She would enjoy it even more now.

Quick pic, then it was nap time for a baby.

156069_865363178441_664138929_n.jpg

While Aria napped, we did Test Track single rider, waiting for each other in the exit area. My mom also rode Soarin with a fastpass we had picked up earlier (sorry no idea when I ran to get that, but I wanted her to ride it!).

When Aria woke up I took her to the BCC for a change - it was finally warming up thankfully so she could lose a few layers of clothing. Then we had a bit of a breakdown between my mom and me. I was hankering for that amazing margarita that I had back in December, so thought it would be fun to go to La Cava. Well, my mom was giving me incredulous looks as if she could *not* believe I wanted a margarita of all things. We found a table and then I couldn't take her behavior anymore and told her that I'd just get it to go and we would leave. Ugh! Of course, in June there was a huge line just to order a margarita so we definitely didn't have the same luck with finding a table. Anyway I hope you all don't think I'm an alcoholic at this point LOL but I really wanted that darn margarita and Aria was behaving so why not? My mom was on my last nerve at this point.

Anyway we left, and stopped outside of Norway. I wanted to ride Maelstrom and my mom ran to the bathroom so I had a quiet couple of minutes with Aria while attempting to enjoy my margarita. It was not as good as I remember, but the mood could have affected its taste :guilty:

181000_865363308181_1564758076_n.jpg

The ellie she is wearing here is called the "Sleeping Beauty" and it is one of my all time favorites. I just sized up to a 4 for Aria to grow into. :rolleyes1

We rode Maelstrom in silence  yes I suppose I can still act like a teenager when mad at my mom. Then checked out the store and attempted a hat pic.

1672_865363432931_478626058_n.jpg

My next stop was Germany because I wanted to look at German Steiff bears - thought it might be cute if she had one to bring to germany when we go in september! Alas, we did not buy one but had fun looking anyway.

544272_865363522751_1240050973_n.jpg

We had some time to kill and nothing on our to-do list before dinner, so we headed into Mouse Gear. My mom said she wanted to buy Aria something :3dglasses which is cool with me.

494_865363537721_1755312905_n.jpg

Next up was dinner! We headed back to Mexico to La Hacienda. It was a mad house checking in but once we were inside it was much more subdued. Pretty quickly after sitting down Aria did not want to be in the high chair but she was pretty content in the bench seat with her Gramma so that worked. Playing with her new toys too, was fun!

580723_865363562671_199649834_n.jpg

Dinner was delicious. Probably out of spite, I ordered the margarita sampler. MMM I loovveee that. Aria had a cheese quesadilla which I don't think she ate any of (I've stopped ordering her kid's meals, it is such a waste!) and I have no idea what we had but it was great.

The original goal was to stay for Illuminations, but alas we decided to leave after dinner, beat the crowds and turn in. It was late! Aria even fell asleep while I was holding her on the bus ride, which she NEVER does (fall asleep while holding her). So that was cute and this evening we all fell right to sleep.

Next up - Animal Kingdom morning, Sanaa lunch, and home!

What a fun day at Epcot! Despite the margarita incident, anyway. I think it's great you had the margarita flight at dinner to spite your mum, hehee!

Love the photo of Aria in her Viking hat! :)

You asked where we're staying in October... We have a one bedroom villa at Beach Club villas. We're there for a week so the laundry and little kitchenette will be very handy with a baby! Can't wait! :)

Just got all caught up! Whew, you sure cranked out the updates!

Really enjoying hearing about all of these trips at the different ages and such. Picking up some good tips on travelling with a baby too!

Cool first birthday party. We are planning to do a Minnie theme also. :goodvibes

That's crazy about the no-teeth-then-6-teeth thing. We still have no teeth at 9.5 months, so you've got me wondering what's around the corner.

Hahha that margarita flight was fantastic and I ignored any dirty looks shot my way! It's not like I ever drank (or intended to) to the point of drunkeness, but a random margarita on a hot day was no reason for her to be so judgemental. At least in my opinion.

Ahhh love the BCV!! We have only stayed in studios there (most recently in June) but definitely plan to stay 1 BR or bigger from now on. You did good by doing that with a baby - you will be much more comfortable. Location can't be beat either, though on a future trip BLT is an awesome place to stay with a little one too, in a 1 BR of course. Studios were ridiculously small.

Haha sorry! I'm in full blown disney mode at the moment so need to enjoy that while it lasts. If my August trip turns south I may not be as excited to write about these things... :rotfl2: hopefully that's not the case though.

There were a few bad evenings with her teething, but nothing SO horrible for SO long we couldn't handle it, and luckily she can be distracted easily esp if we take her outside, to a park, zoo, etc. Let her run around, teething only became apparent if we needed to focus on other things besides her and wanted her to sit quietly and play by herself for a little while. Oh it also affected her eating - there were a number of days where she did not want to eat much which made her crabby. Just had to feed her her favorites like fruit, applesauce, yogurt to get her through it.

Can't wait to see her minnie birthday! it's coming up, I can't believe it!

Just for fun, I wanted to take a look at my year of AP savings/days/etc. Included are predicted days/savings for August:

Total days spent at a WDW Park from oct 2012-Aug 2013: 31

Price per park day based on my $560 AP: $18

What this means: It's official, we need to plan another 5 trips for our next set of AP's which will start December 12th :goodvibes

Any other random numbers we should look at??

:rotfl: hope you guys don't mind this reminiscing - i certainly couldn't post this on my FB wall. Ppl already think i'm crazy. :clown:

I don't think you're crazy! Just discovered your TR, and I love it! My husband and I are expecting our first baby and I'm thinking of spending baby's first birthday at the world. She is due Jan 5, so we have time to plan, but I desperately want to lean about travel with infants at WDW. I'm still reading through your first trip and I'm really looking forward to seeing even more!

I love your updates! Again, Aria looks adorable in anything!

AKL is such a beautiful resort. I enjoyed your pictures! And the pool pics are too cute! Looks like she enjoyed the water.

Yay for liking the People Mover! It's one of my favorites.

I'm sorry about how the trip went with your mom. I felt your frustration!

Loving all the updates, thanks for sharing! I have been reading along on my phone but have been terrible about commenting, I'm sorry!

I absolutely love all of Aria's outfits, they are adorable. I'm sorry your Mom wasn't very helpful. Just curious since your mom's diet is so restrictive - what does she eat? It sounds like the Disney chefs weren't very accommodating especially in France, that's awful. I really want to do a lunch at Chefs de France so we can see Remy! I think Gavin would get a kick out of it.

Can't wait to hear more! Your August trip is SO SOON!

I saw you said the studios were too small. Uh oh, that was my plan for upcoming trips. 1BR is definitely going to be out of our budget, might have to go back to the drawing board. Our next trip is just going to be DH, baby (who will be 2.5 then) and I, still too small? Bummer!!

Haha! Thank you! CONGRATS!! So exciting, she and Aria will be 2 years apart :) It is SO much fun traveling with them at that age (and hey maybe you'll decide to travel before her first birthday - seriously at 8m Aria was soooo easy! LOL!). But it's already gotten more "fun" as she has grown up and starts enjoying rides and shows and everything. I've just loved seeing each age!

Aww thank you!! I LOVE AKL! DH isn't as big of a fan but the pool was wonderful and it is just so nice. I would just rent a car from now on - ME was very nice but relying on the buses just isn't for me.

Yep people mover is awesome!

No worries! :goodvibes Thanks, her clothes have become my secondary obsession (behind Disney, of course!) I already have some new Disney inspired ellies in the works.

I'm sure my mom could give you a huge list of things she eats but I really don't know aside from veggies and fruits. I get the GF thing, it's a disease (celiac) so she needs to be gluten free for her stomach. BUT she added in Veganism to "eat healthier" which has really made her way too skinny IMO and she just doesn't seem healthy. BUT the biggest annoyance is that she is selective - at Disney she went 100% vegan (to be annoying, IMO! LOL) but at home she will cook with eggs or whatever, will eat honey, cottage cheese, etc. So she just seems to be making it difficult. I don't see her much because between that and her many crazy dogs, it is just tough getting together with them (they are a 4 hour drive away).

Chefs is GREAT! I should have made a ADR for it in August. Hmm. I am hankering for that chicken and mushroom dish. Remy is awesome and the handler has been really fun too.

Regarding the studios - which resorts are you thinking about?? BLT was REALLY, REALLY small. Granted, we had a TON of luggage (we were going to be at Disney for 10 nights) so that took up a lot of room. But the kitchen configuration was really weird and took up a lot of the room, so there wasn't a great spot for the pack n play, which also took up a lot of room. At 2.5 though, will your baby sleep in a PnP, crib, your bed, or pull out couch? That could make a huge difference if sleeping in your bed or couch. Also, a 2.5 year old might be able to stay up later so needing a little separation to give you guys some time in the evening when they are asleep might not be as necessary. That is the biggest thing for me wanting a 1BR+ - having a spot to put Aria down for naps or bedtime (she goes to sleep at 7PM at home, usually by 8PM on vacation) and have a place for US to relax with wine, tv, or whatever without worrying about waking her up.

So after saying all that above, studios at any of the resorts would be okay, except BLT we just would only do a 1BR there as the room was just too small. :goodvibes

Once again, the trip went to quickly, and 3 nights is never enough! Though I was excited to get home to see Andrew and say goodbye to my mother. :rotfl:

Our plan for the day was to quickly pack, check our bags, leave carry ons at bell services and then head to AK. We didn't have to be on the ME until 2, and we had lunch planned at Sanaa at 12 so we had a few hours to spend in AK before needing to leave.

It was COLD this day! Luckly I had 1 sweatshirt which I remembered to bring to the park, and I brought layering items for Aria too so we were a little more prepared this day. We got there right after opening and headed to the safari of course.

378774_865363672451_1069730531_n.jpg

Then we were hungry so grabbed a quick bite (french toast sticks for me & aria to share, fruit cup for my mom) before heading over to dinorama.

Aria had a blast riding this (no really, she did! :rotfl:) and we rode it again since there was no line.

There wasn't much more to do without going into a show so we headed to the boneyard for Aria to run around and blow off some steam! It was approaching her nap time but I wanted her to have some out-of-stroller time beforehand.

Random but this is before I became obsessive about SHOES in addition to her clothes. So I see these pics and cringe at what i put her poor tootsies in. Now she is a livie & luca girl! :thumbsup2

In that pic you can see the cut on her nose she got the day before we left for Disney. Daddy brought her out to the driveway with him and she took a spill on the pavement. It so nicely cleared up the day we got home, of course! :p

Then it was nap time for Aria while we went to ride some things! We took turns in the SR line for EE

64339_865364400991_1298660987_n.jpg

Then I rode Dinosaur and little munchkin was already awake when I came out. My mom went to ride while I let her play around in the shop a little bit. She loves dinos which is fine by me as I loved them when I was little. And, Dinosaur is probably my favorite ride at WDW (just as Indy is DEF my favorite ride at DL). LOVE IT.

486556_865364530731_805235122_n.jpg

Next up we headed to the bus so we would make our Sanaa lunch ADR. This one was made because 1) It is one of my all time favorite restaurants anywhere and 2) because I thought it would have a number of options for my mom to eat.

We were seated quickly and Aria was in a great mood. Yay! We were all ready for lunch. I think I got a wine flight to my mother's dismay. Maybe I'm still 16 at heart because I sort of push her buttons. But anyway...princess:

The chef came out quickly and my mom was excited to hear that much of the vegetarian selections were also vegan AND gluten free, and the basmati rice was a perfect selection with them. So she had a number of choices all with a ton of flavor. She was excited, and I was happy that she was finally eating a true meal :cool1:

I had my usual vegetarian selection, though I forgot to order the potato and pea samosas which are just SOOOOOOOOOO delicious (don't worry, I ordered them in June) but no big deal. My usual is the basmati rice with the spicy greens and spicy chickpea dishes. Delicious. The very first time we visited Sanaa I got the chicken only to realize that *every* chicken dish was made with dark meat, which I don't like...so now I go vegetarian there.

577755_865364740311_45396439_n.jpg

Sorry for the lack of food pics. I got made fun of on Facebook for posting food pics last time, and that's where I get my links to post pics here...sooo I just stopped taking them. I took a few in June and will try to be better during upcoming trips because I hate forgetting what I had to eat esp if it was amazing.

Anyway lunch was amazing, as usual, and then we walked back to the AKL, had a little time before ME so we let Aria run around on the playground.

599149_865365069651_107716991_n.jpg

Yes I joined her, too...

67368_865365453881_1908876660_n.jpg

:rotfl:

Then we picked up our bags at bell services, headed out to the ME stop and waited a short while. Rest of our trip was uneventful, though Aria took a 10 minute nap on the bus ride and never wanted to fall asleep again so she was a little cranky but did okay overall.

NEXT post will be the photopass pics we got, since I had them after posting all the pics so they were totally out of order.

Here are the photopass pics we got!

Getting tired of the same PP pose. Need some other ideas. In June we swung aria by the arms and got a cute pic that way, and I got one with her on my shoulders.

Well, that's it for March!

Let's see, in between March and June disney trips, we had Easter, I hosted a bunch of matilda jane releases, mother's day, and then memorial day.

August trip is in 24 days!

The photopass pictures came out great!

Again, what a bummer than your mom was not the best traveling partner. :sad2: Live and learn!

I can't believe someone made fun of you on FB for taking food pics! Who the heck cares what other people take pictures of on vacation? I think that would have made me take even more food pics and tag that person in all of them. :lmao:

I haven't kept up here either but GREAT FP pictures. Sorry your Mom wasn't a great traveling companion. Like Kristy said, live and learn. I agree that the same poses over and over get old. But it's still fun to watch kids grow in the pictures :thumbsup2 I can't believe you're going again next month! You are so lucky to get to go so often. And I thought I was bad with my two trips last year haha!

Sounds like a fun last day and a lovely lunch! Great PP pics too! Looking forward to reading about your June trip!

Thanks for sharing! :)

Great update! :goodvibes

Yeah it was nice to get some cute pics with PP!

It was andrew's parent's actually, who made fun of me. I should have done that but you know, IL's are in laws and I get tired of their jabbing remarks so I just refrained from taking them. Plus I will say that Aria at meal times made it pretty tough to get pictures because I was more focused on keeping her happy and quiet.

Yes it is!! That's why I keep getting PP! Have it again for August since I figure it will be our only chance to get some pics together. I used to think 2 trips in a year would be *amazing* well, still do. But it sure has been fun. Of course, I used to vacation a lot more expensively too but I've found many ways to go pretty cheaply.

Yeah it was. I LOVE AK! The baby care center there is the best, BTW! Sanaa is just AHHH mazing - we had a delicious meal here in june. Thankfully my DH feels the same way about it. :goodvibes

Quick recap of events for fun! :goodvibes

First up was Easter - we had a great easter though we didn't attempt an egg hunt. She had a basket with fun stuff to play with though and then the IL's & great-grandparents came over for lunch.

Then it was Mothers Day. The evening before we went out for Thai food with Andrew's parents. I tried to get some cute mother daughter pics but Aria was being a stinker.

Then on Mothers day andrew made me breakfast in bed (huevos rancheros, croissants, coffee, juice). What we do for mother's/father's day instead of gifts we do breakfast for the other person then plan a fun day as a family - this day he planned a trip to Worcester, MA's Ecotarium which was sort of a museum, then dinner out at a spanish tapas restaurant. The plan was for Aria to take her afternoon nap in the car ride up there, but unfortunately she never slept, so dinner was pretty horrible. It was probably the WORST meal we've had with her. :scared:

No pictures of that, but we did take some pictures around the front yard.

Aww, beautiful pictures! My favourites are the ones in the garden... So relaxed and happy! :)

I love your matching pink leggings with the little frills around the bottom!
