AN AP-ALOOZA with a baby! October TR turned year of Disney! NEW 2/7 AUG FINISHED!

Oh my goodness! What wonderful photos! She's a doll! And you look like you had such a wonderful time! Wishing her a happy birthday!!!!!

I hope you had a safe trip to TX and are having a good time!

Wow, I can't believe you did that 3 day TR in a day, I agree definitely impressive!

Thanks for sharing! I have to admit, I am jealous of what a good sleeper Aria is! Gavin did sleep and nap a MILLION times better in Disney than at home (and for a while after we got back) he is a terrible sleeper and will not go to sleep without being nursed and rocked and sometimes its a very long scream fest production if it's a bad night but anyway... that's awesome you got to enjoy drinks and a carriage ride, sounds like the perfect way to end your trip!

oh and I was seriously laughing (in a good way) at all the pictures of Aria's birthday party (it was all gorgeous by the way!) Gavin's first birthday party is on July 20th and it's Mickey mouse themed. I also had the goal of getting a great picture of him and Mickey in Disney for his invitation but it didn't work out, but the invitation is still adorable. Anyway, I haven't made all the banners and stuff yet but I'm making the first year photo banner, a banner for his high chair and his happy birthday banner. His smash cake I am making in the giant cup cake pan. I can't believe all the similarities only ours is blue. You did an awesome job, the food and decorations look amazing! Looks like Aria had a great time! Luckily Gavin has a summer birthday because we have a super tiny not fancy house so we rented a pavilion at the park to do a cookout. It already hit me yesterday what his second birthday party is going to be... finding nemo!

I'm so impressed that you managed five trips on one AP! Your December trip looks like so much fun. I wish we were going back this December. :sad2: I didn't know POR did carriage rides. Port Orleans is on my list of resorts I want to visit. Your pictures are great.

And those pictures of Aria with Santa--awww!

I'm guilty of being MIA again! I really need to go to the World during the holidays. It looks beautiful!

I got approved for the agent education program! I just found out last week. New ticker for me! :yay:

Yes, Disney Jr Live is now Sofia, Doc McStuffins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates! It's really cute. Also, tell Andrew that there are benches in the back if he doesn't want to sit on the floor!

Awesome, thanks I will tell him! And will def do this in August. Can't wait!

Aww thank you!! her birthday was January 30th LOL :goodvibes but I just never shared pics from her party so finally did it!

I hope you had a safe trip to TX and are having a good time!

thanks! it was okay. Sad to see my grandparents getting so old. I only see them about once a year and it's just not enough.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that! I think her favorite thing to do is sleep! I tell her it is bedtime and she runs to the stairs to go upstairs to go to bed. I'm sure it will change when she gets older but for now she loves it. And still takes 2 naps per day which would be nice to reduce to 1/day but I'm not going to force it. The carriage ride was really wonderful!

I so wish Aria's birthday parties could be outside! Sounds wonderful - that is hilarious that they are so similar!! Too cute, can't wait to see pics! :goodvibes I'm thinking Rapunzel or Ariel for her 2nd birthday! Finding Nemo will be so cute, too!

I'm not even burnt out on Disney, either! It's been such a fun year and we've definitely made the most of the AP's. We are getting them again but not renewing, instead just buying new ones and activating in December, since we plan to take AT LEAST one big trip next year in October.

POR was beautiful. If we stay Mod again I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. I liked it way better than CBR. Have never stayed at CSR, but POR and POFQ are very nice.

I'm guilty of being MIA again! I really need to go to the World during the holidays. It looks beautiful!

I got approved for the agent education program! I just found out last week. New ticker for me! :yay:

Yep, just love it during the holidays!!

AHH how exciting!! So when will you be going? How long? details!!

Finally edited my signature. I have 3 tickers currently :cool1: and I hope to at least add in a cruise in the spring. I'm watching fares to get a super cheap cruise fare. Only problem is that we are finally talking about having another baby so that makes planning trips far in advance a bit tough. We are going to go next October though and stay at the VGF in a 2BR with Andrew's parents. For my birthday evening I want to go to V&A's and they can watch Aria. I'm already excited about that birthday (it will be my 32nd). I need to plan something fun for this year's birthday because I'm depressed I won't be in Disney.

Anyway, coming up: March TR (stayed at AKV); June TR; and planning for upcoming trips. So excited August is only a little over a month away! I've started a list of things I want to do:

Meet Sofia (DHS)
Meet Merida
See Tink
Try nutella waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow
Visit France bakery
Visit France ice cream parlor
Go to Lego store and get Aria another Duplo set
Visit Hall of Presidents
Try out Starbucks on Main St.
Playhouse Disney show
Flights of Wonder
Country Bears Jamboree
Tom Sawyer Island

Adding to it every day - so if you have any suggestions whether or not I've done it before by all means please share!!

As a final note, just returned from Texas. First of all - I chickened out and never told my mom Aria is NOT going up to Vermont during her daycare week and instead coming with me to Disney. :guilty: Oops. But she did AWESOME on the plane both ways. And my mom fell asleep for part of each trip so I was able to practice being a solo parents on a flight with her. Wasn't too bad - the only trouble will be carrying her, the full backpack stuffed with toys, and the stroller to the stroller drop off at the entrance to the plane. Other than that I think we will be fine. I am bringing the big stroller - the Baby Jogger City Select. I really dislike the small Maclaren - if I were staying onsite and had to deal with Disney buses then I would but since I am not, the City Select is just SO easy to push, so much more comfortable for Aria (esp for nap time!) and I just love it. It will be heavy to carry on the plane but otherwise I don't foresee it being an issue.

K that's all for now. I need to get the Texas pics on a computer tonight then I will post some for fun! :goodvibes

That looks like a great to-do list!! Especially the Sofia meet. I'm looking forward to meeting her with Paxton. I just wish I would have known before I made Paxton's autograph book so I could have included her. Oh well! I also want to check out Tom Sawyer Island with Paxton on our October trip. I hope Aria has fun exploring there!

Really looking forward to the upcoming TR's. You are going to be a busy lady!!! :goodvibes

I love TSI, but it has been a long time for me! I guess i boycotted it after they discontinued the paint brushes. :rolleyes1 I bet Aria will love it though esp since we will be moving at that sort of pace that week.

I have yet to do an autograph book for Aria! haha! What does yours look like? I bet that is fun to work on.

Thank you, I am looking forward to writing them up. I need to see if we did anything of importance between aria's birthday and the march trip to bide my time haha!

Oh and I added some things to my list for August:

Visa meet & greet
see a couple parades (always skip them)
character palooza at DHS IF photopass photographers are there
OH and I want to have a caramel apple (possibly the smores one) from germany. they look super naughty so I need to go during Aria's afternoon nap.

I made his autograph book on Shutterfly. I posted pics here! I made it a little early because I had a $20 gift card that was about to expire so I had to go with the character information available at the time, and Sofia was still just speculated about then. I really didn't want to get stuck with a blank space because I was hoping a character would be available that ended up not being out in the parks!

As for Characterpalooza, my understanding is that because it is an unofficial meet, there are never Photopass photographers. I know we didn't see any in October when we went. But there are character handlers with each character/group of characters that could take pictures for you!

Ok I promise to go check out your PTR! But your autograph book is amazing. Maybe next october I will make one for her LOL!

Kenny the pirate answered my question about PP too - just like you said, no PP, but others can take our pic. So if we are in the area then we will check it out. Thanks!

There wasn't much of imporance between Aria's birthday and our March trip which was March 10-13. The reason for that trip was 1) daycare was closed that week so my mom was coming down to watch Aria while I worked and 2) I really wanted to see the flower & garden festival.

We stayed at the AKV Jambo House on rented points in a studio. We flew down early on the 10th and mid-day on the 13th and Andrew brought us to/from the airport.

Aria was 13m at this trip.

So on with the show!

We have lucked out getting rows to ourselves without buying Aria a seat - this trip was no different! :cool1:

269268_865237460381_850528360_n.jpg

It was a very early morning for Aria and she was sort of a pain on the flight but did actually nap for about 30 minutes.

I'll preface this by saying that I don't think I will ever go to disney with my mom solo again. I assumed she would be nearly as helpful as Andrew is but there were quite a few annoyances that came up throughout the trip that I just couldn't get over. The first was something I had pent up since Aria's birthday which I spewed out during our flight down there: I was upset that Dennis, my step-father, did not come to Aria's birthday party. And has really made no effort to visit at all. I'm still annoyed. I mention this because for whatever reason I felt the need to ruin the flight down there by bringing this up (I hadn't told my mom earlier that I was upset about this).

Secondly, she could not figure out how to fold OR un-fold the stroller. It was a maclaren umbrella stroller - not rocket science. But because of that I had to always do this while also putting away all the things in the stroller while my mother stood uselessly nearby.

Thirdly, my mom's diet. I've mentioned this before but she has celiac and recently decided to go Vegan for no reason. Celiac I can understand; veganism on top of it just makes everything extremely difficult. Not only for us when she comes to visit (figuring out meals) but even more so when we are on vacation and only eat out. This was actually a BIGGER issue than I thought it would be, since I know Disney does a very good job with special diets - but the two combined really limits what anyone could possibly eat! Read: grilled veggies and fruit is just about the only thing she eats now.

So upon disembarking, my mom took Aria to the terminal while I waited for the gate-checked stroller. She didn't think to stop and wait for me at the entrance there, so we got lost for a bit while I tried to find her and Aria. We did finally meet up though, hopped on the monorail, and headed to ME.

66466_865238373551_784543812_n.jpg

This was my first time taking the ME so that was very exciting. It was very nice not having to get our luggage, and the wait was not long. We killed time by letting Aria run around and blow off some energy. It wasn't long before we got to the AKL though - our savannah view room was ready (it was about 11AM by this point!) so we put away the few things we had, checked out the balcony, then decided to head to DTD for lunch. I don't remember exactly why that was the plan (aside from needing another bag full of bath bombs haha and not wanting to go to a park this first day) but it ended up being a lot to stuff into the day with how long the disney buses take. Have I mentioned how much I hate disney buses?! Yep, definitely never doing that again.

Sorry back to the lodge:

Our view was the same savannah we had last time. Beautiful and plenty of animals everytime we looked out.

My mom loved it, which was important to me (I so wanted her to have a good time - she is NOT a disney fan - she is the reason I didn't visit WDW until I was 18 and booked/paid for the trip by myself!).

Now off to DTD - Aria got an outfit change and then we headed off!

We went to lunch first, at the Wolfgang Puck Express - I thought I had read they had some great GF options but it turned out I was wrong - no GF pizza crust. She found a salad that was okay though (minus the non-vegan dressing). I got a spicy chicken pizza though which was delicious. Oh, and a glass of white wine of some sort - this was already needed. (BTW, fourth annoyance: my mom doesn't drink and looks down on me for drinking. I enjoy wine, get over it!)

60438_865239670951_1361515920_n.jpg

After a quick lunch where we were both impressed with the quality - plus the service right to your table for a QS restaurant, we headed off to pop into a couple shops. First was Once Upon a Toy where Aria had a blast running around and playing with the stuffed animals.

733761_865239815661_1554418408_n.jpg

I was going to buy her this but decided to wait until we were in MK for wishes, which didn't happen.

1792_865239885521_52574387_n.jpg

Then we headed to the Lego store where I checked out their small but fun "duplo" section. I bought Aria a small set of Easter-y duplos which she plays with all the time. They were really reasonably priced (about $14 for the set in a nice storage bin) so that is something I want to find again in August.

After the Lego store my mom popped in to Ghiradelli to get some chocolate to bring home to Dennis and I went over to Basin to get my requisite bath bombs. I guess in the Winter I got accustomed to taking at least 1 nice soaking bath a week, and went through all of them very quickly. :upsidedow

Then it was Aria's nap time so we headed back to the room so she could take a comfortable nap since her morning one was pretty short.

735207_865239980331_1644314684_n.jpg

While she napped we relaxed out on the patio watching the animals and playing online. Wifi was decent from what I remember, and this is definitely the best option for having something fun to do while she naps at a Disney resort, IMO! Love the savanna.

We had a bit of time between when she awoke and dinner (which was at Jiko) so we decided to check out the pool. Again, I wish we had more pool time throughout the short trip but cest la vie.

There is a small toddler pool off to the side of the main pool which Aria just loved. It was the perfect depth for her to walk or sit or whatever - she preferred to play in it vs the zero-entry area of the main pool, though we did have fun in the deeper section. In August, I plan to bring her pool float because it does get a bit tiring holding her constantly!

After the pool we walked around checking out the rest of the area and came upon the playground - which Aria loved!

After playing for a bit it was time to head in to shower and get all dressed up for dinner! I had only eaten at Jiko once back in 2007 and we actually didn't have the best meal but I figured it was time to try it out again. This was the evening I kept going back and forth on because I also really wanted my mom to eat at Artist Point and see the Wilderness Lodge (we are from the pacific northwest, so I know she'd love that resort!) but in the end I figured that eating at AKL would be way more convenient since we didn't have a car.

The hostesses were all fantastic and we had a nice time waiting for our table.

581693_865247799661_592601609_n.jpg

We were seated in the little room off of the bar vs. in the main room, next to a fairly loud large group which worked out fine with Aria.

I ordered a kids chicken breast meal for Aria first so that we could get that as early as possible, hoping for a good and easy meal with her there. We also had a few toys (slinky was #1!) and she did great! Didn't eat that much but was pretty content and sat in her high chair throughout the meal which was a plus.

We got the Taste of Africa to start with which my mom could have with the pappadam crispy "bread" and she loved that (as did I). The chef made her a special tofu/grilled veggie platter which I think turned out fine and I can't for the life of me figure out what I had. But I remember the meal was great. I also had a south african red wine which was delicious.

How we keep her clothes pretty:

576017_865247899461_217343603_n.jpg

Oh and we did learn not to let her have crayons for any meals from this point on, as she just wanted to eat them and didn't get the concept of drawing.

64126_865247974311_1053404_n.jpg

After dinner we just headed to bed for an early night in. I was also really interested in heading down to the bar area for a glass of wine but my mom doesn't quite get the idea of splitting up so she didn't "get" that I meant for her to stay in the room with a sleeping Aria while I went down alone. I am very happy to be solo, as an only child I got used to it, so I was already feeling pretty claustrophobic being with my mom 100% of the time. Also due to this I opted to sleep on the pull out couch this first evening to get some space. There was enough room to have the bed, pull out couch, and crib with plenty of space all along the same wall. Much bigger than the BLT studio, or even BCV for that matter.

Day 2 is coming up: MK!

AKL! Brings back memories. We loved it there! It's so quiet and tucked away from everything.

Yep, just love it during the holidays!!

AHH how exciting!! So when will you be going? How long? details!!

I'll be there 8/26-8/30. I haven't received the final schedule but I know most of our free time will be at night. I'm traveling with a co-worker friend so at least I'll know someone! We get in at 10AM and I heard the program doesn't start until 4 so we will have some park time as soon as we get there. The parks are open late that week so we won't be getting much sleep LOL.

I've just read your whole trip report(s) over the past few days! Aria is just gorgeous... You have a beautiful family! :)

I really like your touring style... DH and I are taking our baby (who will be 7 months old) on his first trip to Disney World in October, so I've been taking note of quite a few of your ideas! You've already inspired me to buy him some cute Disney outfits too... :)

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with us. Looking forward to reading more!

Sorry that going with your mom wasn't the best experience, but it seems like y'all still had fun! A savannah view with a toddler seems like the perfect way to go. Easy entertainment!

Oh yeah we did have fun, but it would have been nice to have some separation time too, you know? Yes the view was wonderful!

I started our MK day TR yesterday, computer froze, started again this morning, froze again, trying for the third time. If it doesn't happen I am going to scream!

Our morning started off very early. But my shower/hair dry routine from the evening before allowed a little bit of sleep in time before it was really time to get up. The problem with hotel rooms is there is NO separation for Aria, so if I get up to use the bathroom, she is awake. There is no "i'll just hop in the shower and then wake her up" so doing it all the night before really helped with that!

Anyway bus ride to the MK was fine with a wiggly baby -

We had a 8:20 ADR at CRT. It was actually a christmas present for my mom, mainly because I wanted to take Aria and knew my mom wouldn't want to pay for it. :rotfl: But the park opened at 8. They let us through the early breakfast entrance which was nice to get some empty castle pics!

Then we had a little time so hopped over to Enchanted tales with Belle. Had andrew been there, it would have been Pirates :goodvibes

480256_865249002251_1948293556_n.jpg

I love this attraction, and feel like this is something we will enjoy for quite a few years as Aria grows up.

5782_865249097061_1403557916_n.jpg

They offered for me to bring up Aria to meet Belle even though she hadn't played a part - I mention this because in June they did NOT offer that to us so Aria didn't meet her.

Then it was off to CRT! The long check in line had dissipated and so we scooted right in, took a picture with Cinderella and headed upstairs. We were seated in the 2nd level which was fine.

537728_865249196861_1422593711_n.jpg

Aria liked the wand and wishing star, of course. They brought her a small plate of goodies (free) plus a huge plate of pastries which was huge considering my mom wouldn't eat any of it. I think i had the stuffed french toast, but I remember being pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal compared to a previous breakfast there. They brought my mom a large separated plate of various fruits and a pre-packaged GF muffin. She enjoyed the fruit. And kept giving Aria raspberries which I was very unhappy about because I didn't want them to stain her dress. :lmao:

As for the characters, Aria did great! She loved watching the princesses as they walked away, trying to figure them out.

As we were leaving, the next table over said that they loved Matilda Jane Platinum and were gushing over her dress. :goodvibes We don't see much MJ anywhere so it was fun to meet someone who also loved it!

After breakfast I thought it'd be fun to let Aria play with some other kids at Dumbo! I didn't realize it would be SO empty, but we let her play for a bit and then went to ride.

HERE was the highlight of the trip for me. Up until now Aria was pretty quiet on rides. But when we rode Dumbo she was SQUEALING in delight! It was so fun to hear and I was so glad to see she was having a great time.

Best pic we got:

Next stop was the people mover as we were going to put her down for a nap and ride Space!

I have a feeling we will ride this quite a bit in August!

After that, Aria went down easily for a nap in the stroller, while we took turns riding Space and then went to go play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom - that was a flop though because no matter how hard we tried, we could not get the screens to get the pictures. It was really frustrating! Aria woke up shortly after we gave up trying to play, and the lines were terrible at this point with very late FP returns so we decided to ride the carousel and then head out.

BTW in June, Aria LOVED this ride. Did NOT want to get off... :rolleyes2 LOL

And, it will be closed in August supposedly for reno's :(

Then we headed out for the bus back to AK!

You can see how chilly it was the few days we were here, with the layers Aria wore. My mom and I didn't come prepared for the weather at ALL.

On our way out of the MK, though, we saw that the Easter Bunny was greeting people! So I thought it would be a great idea (:stir:) for aria to meet him!

That was the pic from the 30 seconds or so we stood in line until Aria looked up, saw the Easter Bunny from afar (maybe 40 feet away) and reached for me and started crying. Guess not!

The bus took a while to come so I let Aria run around for a bit and blow off some steam.

With Aria ready for her 2nd nap we didn't really have time for the pool this day. Boo! We had an early ADR at Boma and we intended to head back to the MK afterwards. Did that happen...well...this day just turned around 180 after Aria's afternoon nap!

First though we went down a little early and let her play. Now, not to get too detailed but when we travel, Aria can get a little stopped up. So there is usually a day or two when she is REALLY uncomfortable and unhappy. This was one of those days. Unfortunately, July 1st (yesterday) was our anniversary and that was another one of those days. So this evening's Boma dinner was about as bad as our anniversary dinner we had last night. :rotfl: Glad I can laugh about it now...phew!

But yes let me digress back to looking at animals. Aria LOVES animals (what kid doesn't) so it was a nice distraction.

Then it was dinner time! What better way to help a tummy ache than eat a buffet of african food!

It started off well -

While waiting for the chef to come out, I ran up to get food for myself and Aria. Without seeing food pics, I can't remember what I ate but I know I enjoyed everything. It's always delicious. Aria did NOT want any of it.

When I got back my mom went off to the buffet with the chef and then came back empty handed. I think this contributed to what an awful meal I rmemeber this being - I had specifically booked this knowing that Boma was wonderful for those with allergies, esp gluten free, and there was *nothing* she wanted from the Buffet. Now, she is NOT one to shy away from interesting flavors. Instead, the chef had offered a rice and grilled veggie dish so she decided to just wait for that. Ugh.

Oh, I had a much needed glass of wine, too. Because while this was happening, in the background Aria would NOT sit still, NOT sit in her high chair, would not eat, threw her milk on the ground, screamed, cried, etc. I'm trying to eat while my mom is just sitting there. Think she would have gotten up to walk around with her? Nope. So I tried that too. In the end, Aria finally settled down and chewed on some grilled veggies from my mom's plate. But after that fiasco I was TIRED.

Of course, we get outside after dinner and Aria is happy as a clam.

We let her play on the playground and funny enough there was a mom there with two young boys (maybe 1.5 and 3). She said her husband is finishing up dinner by himself at Boma and she brought her misbehaving boys outside. I guess it is NOT just Aria, but seriously, I am SO SO tired of this! Months upon months now of it being *very* unpredictable how a meal will turn out with her.

After this we went back to the room. I was dying for another glass of wine but Aria needed to go to sleep so we just had another early night in - though we did spend a little time outside watching the animals and playing on iphones/ipads/etc.
