An Anniversary Trip Full of Favorites-May 2012 PTR!*TR Link 5/14 & Question 5/15 p32*

Yay! I'm glad you're feeling better. Your list looks really great. I always really want to do pool time and then I remember that neither of us have suits, I don't feel like buying one, and I hate swimming.

Sooo... no pools for us. ;) I may try and lounge gracefully poolside one of these times.

I've never been on TSM either and we were watching all those Disney park specials on Netflix and now I'm like triply certain I will FAIL HORRIBLY whenever I actually ride the real thing (hopefully soon!).

Someone on the Theme Parks board just posted about more monorail maintenance, so no idea what's going on there.

That looks like a very accomplishable list :thumbsup2 I think it was a great idea to look at it a different way and make a list of must-dos, and I'm glad it worked for you!
Some day I'd like to see the flower & garden festival. My parents are going to see it in 3 weeks time and I'm pushing them to get lots of pictures. I'll see it vicariously through them and through you for now :thumbsup2
HOORAY for 18 days !!!

Love the idea of having a "must do" list for your trip. I may have to do the same, since ours will be such a short one. That way I can focus on getting what I really want to do done... then anything else is icing on the cake! And if we don't get to some things, you're right... there's always next time! :thumbsup2

Your must do list looks great!! :thumbsup2 I am glad you are not stressing anymore. Hopefully you will get to take the time to relax at the pool and then you will feel refreshed to tackle more off your must do list! ;)

I know what you mean about taking the monorail to MK! It is one thing I look forward to so much and last year, for some reason, we didn't do it until our 3rd day and it was just weird!:goodvibes

Your trip is SOOOOOOO close!!:cheer2:

Your Must-Dos look great and totally attainable. :thumbsup2 I have no idea what's going on with the monorail, either, but I'm like you and am hoping it's working while we're there. The monorail is one of the Disney icons, it'd be hard to miss it on a trip!

Great List of Must-Dos :D

As I read that Title line I heard Stacy's voice! LOL

SO SO SO EXCITED for your trip!!!!! Not much longer now!!!!

Your must-do list looks great! You'll be surprised by how nice it is just to go at a slow pace and enjoy your resort/pool. After all, you know you'll be back again soon! :)

Your trip sounds great! I'm glad you're not so stressed about it anymore. It sounds wonderfully relaxing and has a good mix of structured and free time. Definitely take the time to enjoy StormAlong Bay and wander around the sandy-bottomed pool. And strolling around World Showcase anytime you like sounds great too. I think you'll have a wonderful trip. And so soon too! :cool1:

Wow - 18 more days! This trip is really creeping up fast!

That is the most gorgeous picture of SAB! Makes me want to be there right now!

Great list of Must Do's!

I think I liked your Must Do's better than Stacy's! :thumbsup2 I still miss the Top Seven Must See Attractions.

18 days!!:cool1:

Love the list of must dos! :thumbsup2

Woohoo at nearly being at the 2 week mark - not long to go at all!! :cool1:

I think your list of must-dos looks great! Is your dinner at California Grill late? If not, it might make more sense to take the bus to MK, then the monorail back to Epcot and walk through Epcot to get to BC. When you take the monorail TO Epcot, you get to do the loop around the park, which is my favorite part. :)

Thanks! I think our CA grill ADR is 7:30? I was planning to walk through Epcot, take the monorail over, and then take the bus back to BC later that night, but I'm not sure Brandon is going to go for that. I love taking the monorail to Epcot from MK and looping around, maybe we will save that for another MK morning!:cool1:

Jen, don't stress out about it. You'd be surprised how much you can do in a couple days. When we went in October to visit Emma we basically did every major attraction at each park in 2 full days. And there's always another trip to do what you can't get done! (ETA: OK, just saw your newest post...glad you are feeling better about your plans now. :))

As for the Flower and Garden Festival, there is so much to see-we went to Epcot 3 times and I still don't think we saw everything!

I think they might've changed the rope drop at DHS. Meaning that there is no actual rope anymore to keep everyone in that massive hoard. When we were there last Monday, we got there for park opening and they just let people start walking right away, making for a much less congested walk. And there were only a couple people in each FP line, so hopefully it'll work out like that for you guys.

Thanks for the advice, I'm so relaxed about this trip now, I'm just looking forward to being in Disney and getting a break from life for a few days!

I'm hoping they keep the DHS rope drop that way while we are there, because I really don't want to do the stampede with everyone! If we can just leisurely walk over to the FP machines, that will be awesome! And if we can hop in the standby line after, that would be even better!

Great list! The monorail especially- for some reason, on my way to work this morning I could not stop thinking about the monorail spiel and how excited everyone is on the monorail in the morning. Then I started going nuts that it's still 20 days away!!

I can't wait to go on the monorail and hear the monorail guy's voice!!

We're at 14 days now, and it seems like it's going to take forever to get here! I'm so ready to go!!! :woohoo:

That's a pretty manageable list! It definitely helps when you know there will be another trip shortly after this one! If you don't get to everything then "there's always next time!" Taking time to use the pool is probably the best decision we ever made! it's so relaxing and it really helps you to feel like you're actually ON vacation!

Thanks! I can't wait to hang out by Stormalong Bay with a pina colava in my hand, I think this will be the first trip that we will actually get in some real pool time! Usually, if we use the pool at all it's get in, swim, get out! I just want to lounge for a while! :cloud9:

I love your must dos! I'm glad you were able to prioritize so you could relax about your trip a little!

I really want to ride the monorail from Epcot to MK on our trip too!!! You'll have to let me know how it is, if you do it! :)

19 DAYS?! HOLY COW!!!

Thanks! I'm glad too, because when I really thought about it, I realized there was no reason to be stressed at all, I'm going to be in DISNEY WORLD! I'm going to be happy no matter what! :yay:

I can't wait to use the monorail from Epcot to MK a few times, I just have to make sure it's running, I keep seeing that resort loop is going to be down in the middle of the day, but I don't know if that affects the Epcot loop?

14 DAYS!!! I'm so excited!!!

Thanks! Haha, ugh, the one thing about pool time that I'm not looking forward to is wearing a bathing suit...luckily I have an adorable cover up to wear when I'm not in the water, and when I take it off, I'm going to just run in the pool really fast before anyone can see me! :rotfl2:

TSM is so much fun, but I'm not very good at it! I don't see how people score in the 200,000's...or even 300,000's!

I looked over there for updates about the monorail, but no one seems to know! I think it's just the resort monorail, but who knows? And now I can't remember if the Epcot monorail goes straight to MK or if it stops at the TTC! Ughhhh!!!

I'm glad you're feeling less stressed! I think your list sounds great - and pretty easily accomplished! :thumbsup2

Thanks, me too! I think we can manage to get all of those things accomplished on such a short trip, the only thing I'm not sure about is the monorail, I just have to make sure it's running during the time I want to use it! :rotfl:

That looks like a very accomplishable list :thumbsup2 I think it was a great idea to look at it a different way and make a list of must-dos, and I'm glad it worked for you!

HOORAY for 18 days !!!

Thanks! The Flower and Garden festival is so beautiful, Epcot is just so pretty with all the flowers and topiaries! I'll try to take tons of pictures for you!

Your trip is SOOOOOOO close!!:cheer2:

Thanks! I can't wait to use the pool, and I read that the Stormalong Bay refurb was finished a week early, so that's good! Don't have to stress about that anymore either!

We didn't use the monorail nearly enough in October, we didn't take it to Epcot once! I have to make up for that on this trip!

14 days! I can't wait!

I'm sure you'll accomplish all of those and more! :) Your trip is getting so close!

I hope so! :woohoo: I know, 14 days!!! :woohoo::yay:

Your Must-Dos look great and totally attainable. :thumbsup2 I have no idea what's going on with the monorail, either, but I'm like you and am hoping it's working while we're there. The monorail is one of the Disney icons, it'd be hard to miss it on a trip!

Thanks! As far as I can tell, it's only the resort monorail that will be down for a few hours in the middle of the day, but no one seems to know for sure. I might just ask on the Theme park section in a few days if I can't figure it out! :rotfl:

Great A List!! and I agree with the others - totally doable :) :)

Thanks, I think so too! :woohoo:

Great List of Must-Dos :D

As I read that Title line I heard Stacy's voice! LOL

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to just relaxing on this trip, it will be a nice change from the last few trips we have taken! And I'm already in the pre-planning phase of planning our next trip, so I have that whole trip to go crazy and run around the parks with, this one will hopefully be nice and slow! :rotfl2:

That is the most gorgeous picture of SAB! Makes me want to be there right now!

Great list of Must Do's!

Only 14 days now! I can't wait!!!

Isn't it so pretty? I try to find the most beautiful pictures that I can online for my PTR, because seeing them makes me so much more excited for my trip! I can't wait for that pool!!!

I think I liked your Must Do's better than Stacy's! :thumbsup2 I still miss the Top Seven Must See Attractions.

18 days!!:cool1:

Thanks! I miss that too, it was so much fun! This newer one is ok because it has clips from the old show, but...eh...not the same! I'm guessing they are going to do a whole new show with Stacy when the new Fantasyland opens?

14 days now! I can't wait!!!!

Love the list of must dos! :thumbsup2

Woohoo at nearly being at the 2 week mark - not long to go at all!! :cool1:

Thanks, I'm pretty excited about the list, it's not too ambitious and gives us enough time to lounge around BC and relax!

2 weeks from today I will be in Disney World! In fact, right now in 2 weeks I'll probably be waiting for my luggage or on my way to pick up my car! Ahhhhh!!! Can't wait!!! :woohoo:

Your must do list is legit. I'm PRETTY sure the monorail is normal now. Like I know it closed for a little bit during certain parts of the day for the Grand Floridian DVC construction but I think it's all good now. :) AND... you'll never guess what else... (ahem, if you had twitter, you would totally know this already, if you don't... but at this point you probably do because it's been so long and I have been out of touch with the DIS so I don't know what yall know... gosh I talk a lot) but they CHANGED THE MONORAIL NARRATOR. I don't even know. But I DID hear that the Spanish part is still there, thank GOD. That's mainly what I care about. Wow, I can't believe how soon your trip is!!!! 2 weeks!!!!!!!!

I hope the monorail is normal now!! I read on the theme parks boards that people going in May are getting letters saying it's going to be down at certain times but no one seems to know when! I guess I won't know til I get there!

WHAT???? They changed the monorail narrator? He has a different voice? OMG. This is not the kind of thing I want to hear! I'm glad the spanish part is still there, but...what if he doesn't sound the same??? :( :rotfl2:

I know, I have to join twitter, just for Disney updates! :rotfl2:

12 Days, Favorites, and Random Things!

Hey everyone!

It seems like forever since I've updated here, but it's only been a week! Can you believe that in 12 DAYS I will be in Disney World? :cool1: It's seriously too good to be true. It doesn't seem real yet. I have so much to do! I love the last couple of weeks before Disney, when you can really start getting ready!

Some random things first:

-So I checked Southwest yesterday to look at our flights, which I do from time to time, to see if they price dropped at all...and our flight down is SOLD OUT! Ughhh!!! That means we will definitely have to share the row with someone! It's not a big deal, I just like having room when I'm flying, and I'm not the skinniest person in the world :rolleyes1 so I get cramped in those tiny seats! :confused3 Usually I sit near the window, but I'm thinking this time I might sit in the aisle seat and let the stranger have the window so if I want to get up, I don't have to climb over anyone! Brandon doesn't mind sitting in the middle, luckily!

-Does Disney still ask you if you are celebrating anything when you call? Because the last few times I've called about our reservation, they haven't asked and I want to tell them this is our anniversary trip! But I feel stupid just telling them! :scared1: I just want an anniversary button, that's all, I'm not expecting anything from it...just my button! :rotfl2:

-I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I made a Le Cellier ADR for our first day at 2:45, which I was planning to cancel after I changed our Cape May Day to arrival day. There's no way we could eat at Le Cellier at almost 3 and Cape May at 5! But something prevented me from canceling it, so today, just on a whim, I decided to see if there was an earlier time for arrival day, and there was! So I made that ADR and canceled the 2:45! But now I'm wondering, do I want to keep this one? I told Brandon, and of course, he wants to keep it, and I figure, it's almost 6 hours between lunch and dinner, so we'll be hungry enough for Cape May. But do I really want to rush around to 2 ADR's that day? I don't know. I know Brandon really wants to go, but...I'm just not sure how I feel about it. I almost wish I didn't tell him!

Now my favorites! Since this trip's theme is favorites, I thought I'd make a little list of my favorite rides and attractions at each park (I'm not doing Brandon's because, well, he's not on here, and they change all the time anyway, I can't keep up! :rotfl:) I borrowed some really adorable pictures from simpledisneythings, and after seeing them, I'm even more excited about this trip, if it's even possible!

Favorite Attractions in Each Park!

Magic Kingdom

tumblr_lrul2pTb4m1qhi766o1_500.png

1. The Peoplemover (this surprised me, but when I thought about what I love most about MK, this popped into my mind!)
2. Space Mountain
3. This one is tough...probably a tie between Philharmagic, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Splash Mountain. 4 way ties are allowed, right?

Epcot

tumblr_luf1rll7mQ1qhi766o1_r1_500.png

1. Soarin, of course!
2. Maelstrom
3. Mission Space or Test Track

Hollywood Studios

tumblr_lvcg1dUSYC1qhi766o1_500.png

1. Tower of Terror!!!
2. RnRC
3. Muppets, Star Tours or TSM

Animal Kingdom

tumblr_luvqbprqVw1qhi766o1_500.png

1. Expedition Everest
2. Kilimanjaro Safari
3. Festival of the Lion King

We'll see how many of these I can get done on our short trip! It's really not that many right? Totally do-able! :thumbsup2

I'll probably be doing a few more updates this week and definitely next week, probably half of them will be "I'm going to Disney in __ days!" :woohoo: I'm so excited! I don't think I've mentioned that yet! :rotfl2:

12 more days!!! Only 8 more days of work (I had to take next Friday off, to pack, of course! :yay:)
