We have done this several times and saved lots of money. With the high prices for Spring Break cars, we wanted to do it but we will have 6 in our group (including 1 toddler and baby), so we could not do it effectively.

We used taxis alot. A typical fare is $8-10, then add the tip. If you use Magical Express, you don't need to pay for the trips to and from the airport. If you don't want to wait on a bus, call a cab. Even if you called a cab twice a day, it is still cheaper than a minivan or mid-sized car.

The only problems we have had were at Saratoga Springs. For some reason, we had trouble with them finding our building.

Be sure to use the yellow cabs, not the white. The white are not regulated and can charge you anything they want. (learned that the hard way)

With a large party like ours, you need a van taxi. Waiting for a van can eat up lots of valuable time.

The only time we did not use the taxi was to and from the Magic Kingdom. Like passenger vehicles, taxis use the Transportation and Ticket Center. Buses go directly to the MK, saving time.

Just another option if you can't find a car at a good price.

We took a taxi from CR to BWV and the cost was $23 with tip. I was expecting a much cheaper ride, after reading many posts here about the cheap rates. I would normally have WDW transfer my bags, but was concerned about the lack of padding in my laptop bag.
