The tour is fascinating. You may already know a lot of the stuff they talk about on the tour, but it's still worthwhile. While there may not be a lot of "new" information for those who have long respected Walt, it's still worth doing. For anyone new to Disneyland, espcially WDW vets, it's well worth doing to understand how and why Walt built Disneyland.

Melanie! I was sent a link to your Rick Springfield story by Travelme and I didn't even realize who I was reading about! I loved your Halloween cruise TR, and I'm so excited to be reading your ABD trip report!

My DL TR is in my siggie if you want to see what we did. We stayed at DLH, ate at Hooke's Pointe - it was a "toddler trip" so not quite like yours.

We have been to DL many times - did our town tour of Hollywood in 2003- you are really going to love it! We watched the stars arrive for a premier of Under the Tuscan Sun at El Capitan when we were there. Of course, we didn't even see the Disney soda fountain with all of that excitement going on!

The Grand Canyon........why when we can go to Walt's Wonderful World We will get there eventually honey, remember you get to pick the next vacation. You are welcome for all the planning (sorry I know I can be a bit OCD about it sometimes). You are right we are going to have a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am loving reading about people's DL experiences as it helps build my excitement. Ohhhhhh cool, you got to see an actual premier. I am checking Jimmy Kimmel's website all the time, to see who the guests are going to be so if they are interesting we can go.

I am not sure what to update on next.............
Everything is mostly done but the mundane stuff.....like packing.
The only big thing I have left to do is decide how to get back to LAX from Disneyland. I have been looking at town car services & looks like it is about 100$ one way for that. I found a van service that was about 70$ one way. Anybody got any good tips for this. I don't want to do a shuttle service as they make too many stops & we have a 7:15am return flight & they would probably want to pick us up at 3am.

Melanie, you might check into the Disney shuttle - I'm not sure where the information is, but Disney hotels have a shuttle you can pay for - round trip from LAX. It might be cheaper just to take the trip back to LAX one way than to get a car service.

I went to Target today to find that Santa Mickey countdown calendar and they didn't have any! I was so sad. Instead, I bought myself two Disney ornaments...

I am right there with you Melissa. Being named Melanie, people always want to shorten it to Mel & I too hate it. My DH does it just to make me mad. My Aunt & cousins have always called me that & I guess it's too many years for them to change so I don't really fuss with them about it. But if someone new does it I always say politely of course "I really don't like to be called Mel because it reminds me of Mel's Dinner."

It's so interesting how I keep meeting kindreds here on the dis. My family calls me Missy and I never notice it till I get a new boyfriend or friend who squint their eyes and furrow their brow then slowly realize the wonderful new possibilities to tease me with. lol (course the boyfriend parts are over now, Thank goodness!)

Here's my cupcakes from todays class.

In other sort of related news......
We are going to the beach in May followed by 2 nights at WDW at the Boardwalk. Today was 180 days (at WDW if you don't call at the 180 day mark you are likely not to get the dining arrangements you want-for all you DL vets really different). So, I called this morning to make our measly 2 little ressies & they are doing a computer update & said I would have to call back in December. Oh well, I tried.

There has been alot of frustration with trying to get ADRs. We're going in March. I got one - March 22 - the latest they are making them for, and then I have to wait until December to get the others. At DL it's 90 days out - almost easy to forget at 90 days!

Sorry about the ADRs for WDW. I've been there before and so I know how people wait for that 180 day mark to call and book all their meals. I hope you still get the places and times you want.
