Amy & Jeff: 10/24/11 20th Anniv. Vow Renewal **8/4 - We surrender!**

Oh no! I'm sorry about the dress drama. I had the same thing happen for a while when I saw the dress you ordered, I LOVE it. I went back and forth about selling my dress to order one like that and had to talk myself down. I like both of your dresses. But I'm partial to the first one. I just love it. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Oh no! The dress drama is awful!!! You know all about mine, I know it's such a terrible feeling. I'm so sorry :(
But your first dress is beautiful. And I think you will look beautiful no matter what! :goodvibes

Amy sweetie - ARRRR no!!! What a problem!!!! I agree that the new dress is perfect with your bouquet etc, but the other dress is stunning too!!! :headache: Okay, I guess the bottom line is..... I don't know what to advise, but I am perfectly sure that whatever you decide, you will look amazing!!! Sorry I can't be more help!!

Thanks for your thoughts girls! :goodvibes I wanted to do a multi-quote reply, but I've been fighting with the DIS boards since last night and keep having to refresh pages to get them to load properly and I can't quote -- I lose them every time!

I'm glad I don't have to do anything 'til August ... it gives me lots of time to think about what I want, I guess. I'm really anxious to see the dress in person and who knows ... maybe it won't be as pretty in person? ;)

I love your bouquet and I agree that the dress and the bouquet are made for each other. I am a firm believer that in if it is meant to be, it will happen. If you manage to find the dress in your size, that is a sure sign that you should go ahead.

Corinna

That dress is gorgeous! I hope it works out for you. Maybe you can call a few places and make friends with someone who can give you a pre-order?

So today was dress-hunting day ... trying to find someone that had that new dress or a swatch of fabric or something to help me decide what to do! ;) There's a pretty big David's near my mom-in-law's house and while they didn't have THE dress, they had one with an inset of the floral fabric, so Jeff took me over there this afternoon.

I was almost hoping I'd hate the fabric so I wouldn't be tempted to try and get the dress. But of course, the fabric is gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. So of course I was tempted. :headache: However, there were 2 big issues. The first being that it's an 18-week order and we wouldn't have time to order it, and no salon was going to be stocking plus-sizes ... any plus size in that dress had to be special-ordered. So there was zero chance that I'd be able to find it IN a store to buy, and I'm too close to our VR to order (and David's doesn't do rush orders).

The other issue was the fact that the dress is an empire waist, and since I'm short and big-busted, the empire waist dresses I tried today made me look pregnant. :scared1: Definitely NOT the look I'm going for.

So, the consultant (who was wonderful and patient) sat down with me and discussed the whole dress dilemma. She asked what I was going for as far as look and feel, and she suggested a particular dress. I've seen it on the website over and over and never even considered it. It just wasn't my style. But she convinced me to try it, and when I put it on, I didn't hate it.

In fact, I sort of loved it.

I was wearing these cute ivory satin platform heels with bows on the toes and the dress hit me just above the ankle (it's tea-length on normal people, LOL, but I'm 5'1"), and it just felt all lacey and sparkly and swishy and swingy and FABULOUS! I looked up in the mirror and Jeff was sitting in his chair grinning at me. I said, "What are you smiling at?" And he said, "I can tell you like that dress. Do you know that you're up there dancing?" :cloud9:

So we bought it! :upsidedow And it needs NO alterations!! It's due in 6 weeks. :thumbsup2

And I got the shoes, too! The shoes were really a necessity cuz as much as I love my other blingy shoes, I was wearing them around the house on the carpet and I was already starting to get blisters and I would've ended up bleeding on our VR day! The new shoes are way more comfortable and I am going to bling the heels on them, too. :thumbsup2

And the bows on the shoes go with the bow on my purse, too!

The only bummer thing about today was we decided to cancel Mickey and Minnie to save money. :sad1: I can't spend too much time being sad about that, though, cuz I now have MY DRESS! :cheer2: And we'll just go see Mickey in his nifty new greeting spot in the Magic Kingdom instead (and it won't cost us $900! LOL).

Love that dress. It's going to be so cute on you!! Did you take any pictures of you in it? Those shoes are adorable btw. :thumbsup2

What are you going to do with your hair? Veil, little hat with birdcage veil, headband, a few flowers clipped into your hair? popcorn::

Sorry about all the dress drama, but the one you bought is lovely. In fact, it was one I was seriously considering for my VR, but then I fell head over heels for Maggie's Isadora Ann. :lovestruc If I hadn't, I probably would have gone to David's and tried this one on. I am sure it will be lovely. I love the shoes too. Wish I could do them, but with Rheumatoid Arthritis in my feet, heels are not an option.

Glad you are happy with your trip to David's.

Congratulations of finding a dress you love. I actually never thought that the photo of this dress did it any justice, so I so glad to hear that it is more beautiful in person. Looking forward to seeing your photos of your special day!

OMG I love your dress!!! It's really gorgeous!! You definitely are going to look like a princess!!!! And those shoes are AWESOME!!! Congrats :)

Darn ... I still can't multi-quote, or quote at all for that matter! :headache: Please forgive me because I wanted to respond to each of you and I'm gonna give it a shot from memory! Thank you each for the compliments and good vibes about my new dress! :goodvibes

super_k, I'm not 100% sure on the hair yet; it's either going to be a headband with crystals or little pins with pearls. I have both and will probably wait 'til we're actually doing my hair to decide. :)

Jeff took one picture of me in it with his iPhone, but it's awwwwfulllll ... I even hated for my mom to see it when we stopped by her house tonight, LOL! I still of course want to lose some weight, too before the big day :rolleyes1 and since we're 4 months out, I need to get going!

Bethie, I think Isadora Ann is a gorgeous dress ... I was going to get a Maggie dress too 'til it all went awry! But I guess everything happens for a reason right? :goodvibes

disneyido and Kristi, thank you so much! I guess it's really proof that you never know about a dress 'til you actually see it on you. ;)

happy for you that you sorted out your dress dilemma! I love the purse bow and the shoe bows! :)

Amy sweetie - OMG!!! I was not able to get to a computer yesterday and come back to find that gorgeous dress and shoes post!!!
Love , love, love it!!!!
I adore tea length dresses and nearly went for one myself!!!! You are going to look so beautiful!!
The shoes are to die for!!! It is really important that they are comfortable!!! Mine were very comfortable and totally 'broken in' but I still changed in to my flip-flops at the end of dinner for the journey to BLT on the monrail as my legs and feet were aching. I think it is all the standing about for photos that does it!!! And Randy :worship: takes a lot of photos!!!!

Congratulations! I really like that dress too--- it's very soft and almost vintage-y feeling, but classic too. (Did that make sense? I hope so!)

YAY! I can quote again! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I think the bows are fun and they make me feel really "girly"! ;)

Thank you Joanne! I am really happy to have the dress issue sorted and to feel so happy about it. :) The flip-flops are a good idea -- I'm thinking I'm gonna get a pair of comfy flats, too, with all the walking we'll be doing.

That totally makes sense! That's one of the things I really like about it, too! :goodvibes

I love the dress, the shoes and the purse. I hope that this will come as planned. It is a shame that you had to give up about the other dress though.

Thanks Corinna. I finally feel like everything's in place, so I'm sure it will all be fine. :goodvibes Now we just need to finish paying for everything, LOL!
