Last night, as I was dozing on the couch I saw a clip from a interview maybe with Amy Fisher and Joey Buttafuco. Did anybody see this?? And PLEASE no Joey Buttafuco jokes between my two boys, I have had enough Joey Buttafuco, michael Jackson, Bill Clinton jokes to last me 4 lifetimes.

Yeah, Entertainment Tonight has been milking this for all it's worth and running a Joey/Amy interview thing all week.

I didn't see the interview you are mentioning, but I did see her interviewed maybe a year ago. The thing that disturbs me is that now that she has matured, she is being treated as some sort of hero because she has risen above and gone on to have a better life. Don't get me wrong, I am glad to hear that her life has moved forward. However, come on. She is no hero. She shot a woman in the face as a teen because she wanted her out of the picture.

I will certainly not sit here and say Amy was right in shooting Mary Jo - HOWEVER Joey was a married man 20 + years her senior. HE was the adult.

DH & I saw this earlier in the week. We were confused on a few points.

1. She changed her first name (now Liz) & last name (by marriage) & had plastic surgery on her face so she could lead a life & not be recognized instantly. YET, she goes on TV now, shows her face & tells her new name????

2. And what is the point of them being on now. Its not some "anniversary" or anything. So why is it being brought up again now?

Both looking for $ or something? She didn't appear to be needing $. Living in a big house on Long Island with 2 sons & husband.

She's already made the recent rounds....apparently she is interested in becoming a female wrestler (or boxer? can't remember which now....). We do know she has plenty of practice hiring people to wack the knees of her competitor with a crowbar, but it remains to be seen whether or not she'll have success as the one administering the blow.

LOL, you will never hear me argue that he isn't a big sleazeball. As far as the affair part, I see him as MORE in the wrong because he was an adult and married. But, I just don't see the age difference having anything to do with her pulling a bullet in anyones head. I was a teenager, way back when...I did do a few things I am not proud of. But shooting someone is wayyyyyyy beyond an 'oops, don't kids do the darndest things'

Agreed - however.... (and this is my opinion) Seeing him as such a scummy, manipulative, sleaze-ball he is - I tend to wonder what he said to Amy to make her go THAT far. (not that, THAT far is okay, but still..... ) At age 16, and so "needing" of attention, affection, etc - he could'a told her to jump off a bridge in the name of *love* and lord knows how kid's in *love* are.

I just dont like the way he STILL acts - like he was some innocent bystander, who happened to have an affair. I dont know - I just dont buy it.

On a side note - Amy Fisher's b-day, including year of birth, is the same as mine!!!! (as well as the day being Paris of American Idol fame - I heard last night)

And you know what else ticked me off?

Around that same time was the Pamela Smart case...

Pamela is spending life in prison (yes, I know - he husband died) BUT it was the same sort of situation - he said / she said.

I still cant beleive Joey didnt get a day in jail for that. It floors me.

I read that the actual interview will take place sometime in May just in time for the sweeps.

I hate to admit that I really do want to see it in it's entirety, all the tabloid shows keep repeating the same clips and such but they aren't commenting on when it will actually air and on which station.

From what I have seen Joey still does not admit that he had an affair with Amy. It looks like the interview is mostly arguments. I will be curious to see if they can actually splice together a coherent interview.
